  1. ah got it, I think 2Bricks has a really good one, but the slightly smaller footprint of the Rossco one is nice for sitting next to mini figures, will see if I can adapt mine.
  2. what piece did you use at the bottom middle? I did 2Bricksofficial build as well (He does some really good Mocs and Mods), but the bottom is a bit wider than yours, just curious what you did as I think this lines up to min fig scale better.
  3. Or a rebuild the galaxy AT-ST /bongo mash up (submarine with legs?). (getting both of these sets separately would be cool)
  4. Great to see Juno with the update. Excellent work sir! And as a purist I appreciate the links and information.
  5. I agree with this take, and have since it came out. The scale and execution on 75301 has been my favorite, sure it has some minor flaws in shaping (in the front), and I removed a plate to drop R2 a little bit, but I love minifigure scale ships and this one was very close. Minifigure scale OT fighters are my must buy sets. (If slave one had been Bobba's in the current shape/scale I probably would have bought it just because it is close to minifigure scale). They really need to do a minifigure scale AT-ST at some point too. Also Seconded, Lego please listen
  6. Very cool, love seeing the Andor possibilities. These look great
  7. I love the new star destroyer, I am hoping for another downsize with the starship line even, but I thought the current star destroyer is excellent and maybe the best playset of last year. I do share the concerns on the AT-AT, keeping that larger helps with setting up battle scenes.
  8. Good to hear, planning on getting it soon and hoping for the same.
  9. I read the earlier post as the slave one playset coming out later this year and not the UCS one, I would think thebUCS one is one of the best scales of any Star Wars ship (alongside any other truly minifig scale ones)
  10. I have to say, despite getting fewer sets with mini figures and some small nitpicks on the designs Lego has done some really good ones this year throughout the year. can we get the Death Star plans already? Here is my random frequent endorsement of a tie avenger, Lego if your listening.
  11. New sets look good overall, figures seem pretty good too. I’m passing on this group but happy for those that are planning on buying as I think some good choices and effort was made. set prices are getting crazy for what we get. can we get the Death Star plans? voting for a tie avenger still.
  12. I like it more getting some of the better photos of it. I like the trans orange on the inside peaking through, not sure how much better you can do Shadow and Flame in bricks (minus a ton of prints). I am thinking about getting two of these. Seems crazy to not have any announcements for it or reviews, it releases in less than a week, and is a cool set (even for play to just get a Balrog and Gandalf).
  13. Yes Tie Avenger, (with range trooper and test pilot cassian) Maybe a spider as an Easter egg. when do we expect the Death Star plans? Really want to know more about it.
  14. Was Bolgs hair a change? I recall Bolg not having hair like in this piece.
  15. Agreed, I had to block that channel because I kept seeing “leaks” and about thirty seconds later realized it was nothing. really looking for info on the Death Star. I hope Lego is listening, I would buy at least two tie avenger sets.
  16. Looks awesome! also the Balrog lifestyle pictures make it look even better
  17. For whatever reason LOTR official reveals seem to be super late but I’m thinking it won’t be out by then, but who knows. I think if it is we will know by Tuesday. At least there is no gwp so I don’t need to rush to buy it day one.
  18. I think the new one is too small, I think a balrog would have been bigger than the old one just not as big as a trex. Somewhere between the two if they had gone the mold route.
  19. Velociraptor is probably closer in line, that one has the head, arms, legs, jaw just not the tail. I think it could be done that way, but again the pros and cons would apply and the cost would be significantly higher than a brick built alternative, maybe add $50 (what we pay) to the existing set price for the same build and mini figure.
  20. I think they both have pros and cons. I think a molded one like a dinosaur (T. rex has jaw, head, body, tail, arms, legs so 8 parts) would look more accurate but to your point adding wings to that would need to change some other part (probably just head, jaw, hands, arms, wings that could move at best - also 8). This would be the most accurate looking version, but costs would be significant (especially considering the printing on top of 8 new complex molds) and functionality goes down. brick built gives a lot more function and lower cost, the hard part here is I don’t think I’ve seen a better brick built Balrog than this one (prints go a long way). So I think we are getting the best brick built design we can (maybe some small tweaks could make it better). I also think it looks good, I just know the most accurate version would be the big fig or dinosaur style for looks. I do really like the one we have, there are a few awkward looking angles (maybe because the teeth aren’t black) but overall I think they captured it well, especially looking at some of the weta balrog examples.
  21. Of all the Lego Balrogs this one is the least cartoony. I agree with this. I think adding minifigures (while normally I advocate for them) does not make sense here. I like the diorama feel with the printed brick and the focus on Gandalf and the balrog. I do think the balrog looks about as good as it could from a brick built model. The best way to make it even better would be a dinosaur style molded figure. I am sure there are some tweaks and MOCs that will be good for this one but overall I am very happy with it from a head on view (and probably how I’ll display the book nook)
  22. Could get a battle pack with a combination of any of the troopers we have seen (imperial or rebel or both), also the troop transport is a good option, medical bay is another good option (again rebel or coruscant). I am not counting out season one stuff from the request either which adds a bit more. And I really just want more mini figures from the show so we can do better MOCs without customs. oh Mon Mothmas speeder would be good (could be like the eacape set we just got) and we could get another updated mon mothma minifigure last and slightly related thought (and unpopular). The downsized u wing is as good or better than the older one. It looks good, fits on a shelf, younger kids can play with it easier due to the smaller size. The “accuracy argument for functions is minor to me as both are really inaccurate and only a UCS one could probably fix that (two in the cockpit, seating around, etc.) The accuracy comments about the engines is very true.
  23. No spoilers. Lego, can we please get more Andor sets? Like all of them? Could you negotiate with Disney to do an Andor based CMF line perhaps and we can MOC the rest? *Tie avenger is at the top of that list, please and thanks.
  24. True, I am wondering on the production cost of the wings personally - it is a re-use so it has to be low to some extent, but it did come from a gwp. Would love to see them in PAB to get an idea of how Lego prices them.
  25. The more I look at the pictures the more I like it. The picture of the side of the box looking at the balrog is by far the best shot. It is growing on me, and I think there are opportunities to add or tweak some things which I like to do anyway. i might be in the minority on this thought but I am good with it only having the balrog and Gandalf. Well I would love some orcs (I’m good with Frodo’s at this point) I think that would have just taken away from the scene.
