  1. Brickheadz look decent. Still not a fan of the brickheadz series but will buy these to keep the LOTR collection complete.
  2. Good point! Didn’t think of that but it makes sense.
  3. Agreed, new locations would be preferred. I am also good with the order :)
  4. Bummed about the Death Star changing to a Star destroyer. That was the set I was most excited for this year. Hopefully it is executed well, but this might be a pass for me if it did change. (May just bricklink some of the minifigures). I would love a midi scale Star destroyer though, just not a play-set version. Hopefully we see pictures soon to see if it’s worth picking up or not. Also, if it is a Star destroyer instead of the Death Star missing on the Chimera option seems a bit odd on legos part.
  5. Also hoping for the Death Star reveal soon! the new sets look good. Getting Rex cheap, a good battle pack (nice to get a non-clone one for a change of pace). The mech is surprisingly interesting will only get one for my kid because I have way too many pilot Luke’s but it is more interesting than the previous builds. I will probably bricklink the mandalorian characters down the road when they are cheaper, set looks fine but definitely focused on the play aspects.
  6. I’d be good with a gap year on big sets, but we definitely need lower let sets next year.
  7. Cool, I suppose I’ll just be excited to see the extended versions in theater for the first time after building Barad Dur.
  8. Not really what I meant. I meant that it is good news that there is more publicity leading up to the new movie this year. I doubt replaying movies in theater leads to sets (that would be extreme wishing), it just leads to more visibility leading up to a new movie (more buzz about a new movie in the theme is good news for more future sets). My main point was that it will be nice to watch the movies in theater the same month the set comes out.
  9. Saw they are playing the extended editions in theaters this summer leading up to the new movie. Good news for future sets, plus June we could get the set then go watch the movies in theater.
  10. Death Star set is my top priority set this year (outside Brad dur). Can’t wait to see pictures. Hoping one of the four unknowns is tarkin but doubting it as that would theoretically be an easy identification given the context. Hoping it is a true counter set to Yavin and that the other four figures are all imperials.
  11. https://bricknerd.com/home/the-missing-minifigures-of-lego-star-wars-3-24-23 here is a really good article with a pretty exhaustive list of missing original trilogy minifigs. There are still plenty of missing characters and variants.
  12. I think this as well. I doubt Lego would reveal it before May the fourth ends but would expect it anytime after the 7th but I would think definitely the week of the 13th through 17th for an official preview.
  13. UCS Tie interceptor looks really good.
  14. inspired by @Eki1210 Here is my mara jade emperors hand. (Just got the brick link parts in today, it is the imperial trooper legs, third sister torso, Luke cape, and some red hair). Would love any thoughts on better hair parts or face prints as she cannot look forward with this hair and it does not quite fit. Couldn't find anything reasonably priced though that did fit. I also like the Jan erso legs with the knee pads as a different option. Edit: This version is inspired by the the Decipher CCG card (and not the Akira alternate where she was at Jabba's palace)
  15. I would totally get this, even if they dropped a rebel soldier or two and toryn far (we need a bren derlin). I would still buy it (especially with a Wes janson or a hobbie. Great set idea and could be a cool second wave to the yavin base, and the competing faction base could be an executor bridge
  16. What ships/vehilces have not been produced by Lego for the Original Trilogy (with screen time) yet? Capital Ships: Produced - Death Star, Death Star II, Executor, Star Destroyer, Tantive IV, Nebulon B, (Home One sort of ) Not produced - Mon Cal cruiser, Rebel Transport Fighters: Produced - Imperial Landing Craft, Falcon, Tie Fighter, Tie advanced, X wing, Y wing, Tie Bomber, Tie interceptor, A wing, Imperial Shuttle, B wing, Slave 1 Not Produced - Tie Shuttle Vehicles Produced - Cloud Car, AT-AT, AT-ST, Snowspeeder, Jabba's sail barge, Skiff, Lukes Landspeeder, Speeder Bike, T-16, V-35 speeder, Sand Crawler, not produced - Flare S swoop Am I missing any ships/vehicles with screen time in the original trilogy? I think the only ones lego has not made are the mon cal cruiser, rebel transport, tie shuttle, and flare S swoop. I would say these are all on my wishlist with the rebel transport at the top.
  17. I just ordered the third sister torso to build a Mara. I ordered the third sister torso, light nouget arms, old Luke’s brown cape, the imperial trooper black pants, the dark red hair from the lion princess, and a purple blade. Hoping that turns out pretty good. I also saw Jynn erso legs that could work well but wanted to keep it to two bricklink orders so I went with the imperial trooper legs.
  18. Awesome, I am curious which parts you would use for that version. I was thinking after seeing your pictures earlier about something like the following but not sure if the hair would cover up the rank insignia on the pic. Torso (would need light nougat arms) Item No: 973pb0424 This hair? Item No: 95225 Legs? Item No: 970c00pb0284 I think that could work if the hair covers the rank insignia on the torso (not sure it would sufficiently). Add a purple or tan cape and the purple lightsaber. I might ned to do some brick link orders. I will definitely keep an eye out for your next post :) before I do though.
  19. Great job on these. This actually made me think about how Lego could do a mara jade. I alway's pictured Mara Jade with the black outfit and cape with purple lightsaber (from the Decipher CCG game and some of the book covers). I see how she is also instantly recognizable with the jacket/blaster holster look too though. Great job.
  20. I think minis tooth could be done at micro scale like the recent hogwarts and look good. Maybe come with one minifig (maybe some more obscure character like the huge arts architect - just not in gold). I would be happy with this version versus a giant set, providing that they come out with a whole series of Gondor play sets to get the minifigs. that LOtR contest winner with the forced perspective minis tooth looked good in Lego ideas. Agreed, an orc battle pack as the gwp wouldn’t be disappointing (thinking Star Wars droid carrier). I would prefer an extra Nazgûl or Tolkien, or a unique print but some extra orcs are a win too. i am all for battle packs LOTR lends itself to army building and true battle packs would sell.
  21. I’d be happy with this too, one or two extra figures from the set would be a win (like gringots). I see all the minute one purchase comments too, agreed I might try to buy online but honestly I’ll just line up at the store early. I don’t mind waiting a few hours to make sure I get a copy.
  22. just saw, day one purchase it is
  23. I am all for the exclusive set, it is more lego LOTR which is what I want as a collector (especially if it is rare or unique). I know I am buying it for essentially $50-$90 premium to get it ($90 is how much you would save at 20%, but VIP points are worth $22.50 to $45 for double VIP so at the high end $90, low end $22.50). So if there is an exclusive set I will buy day one knowing that I am paying the $50 premium to get that set. On the flip side it is exclusive and I could potentially sell it for $50 or more in a lot of cases. I don't view it as exploitation, it is an offer for collectors to pay a premium price but get something extra that is worth the premium. The flip side is that if it is not worth the premium then don't buy it. If they release this with a Brickheads I can buy for $20 at any time, then the whole argument goes away and I will wait until there is 2VIP and GWP (like Black Friday) to maximize what I get when I buy the set ($45 in VIP points, plus more legos), or wait until there is a 20% off option to save $90.
  24. Truth, I am good without the witch king, would be nice if there were two Nazgûl though. I am also hoping for the horses now with the inclusion of the mouth of Sauron (and a fell beast for the Nazgûl). I need a bunch of those horses (with any luck it will come out in pick a brick if they do one with the red eyes like some of the other ones have had, but I doubt it in this case). I am hoping for a better GWP too, so many other sets and themes have had excellent GWP that add to the set. Barad-Dur is a must buy for me, but the GWP will determine if it is day one, or waiting until there is a 2X VIP.
  25. Only day one for me if there is a good GWP this time (not the brickheadz again). A definite buy though (to keep the LOTR collection complete) and very excited for the set overall. I do like the minifig line up, I am interested to see how the new mouth of Sauron will compare to the old one. Very happy to get another Nazgul (hoping we get one of their mounts). I would love that line up even if it did have to have a mech, but hoping we get some more sets late this year or early next year, particularly a battle pack. Would love one to have Uruks as I need like 50 more for helms deep, but I am doubtful of getting that.
