LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

the droideka minifigures is intriguing. That set just doubled its sales with an exclusive minifig. promo is cool, but I’ll probably pass on spending big this year unless there is something more unique to it. Cool that it is episode one based. -

Hopefully we find out the May 4TH promo soon. Would be nice to know planning wise what it will be to see if I want to spend the money in May or wait till good discounts later in the year from retailers. I am assuming it will be a good one considering it's the 25th anniversary. I am also curious to see if it is episode 1 themed. Maybe a Shmi Skywalker at a table (would be funny)? Also hoping the smaller GWP is not a coin this year, would be really nice to have one celebrate 25 years of lego Star Wars and one celebrate episode 1. -

That is great that the door is a print and not a sticker in the Tantive. Pretty cool, and looks like a great platform to mod from vs. the play design where they go end to end. -
Which bun did you use for Toryn Farr? I wanted to update her as well (the hair they picked is way off). (also the vulture print for Tarkin is really good)

Just started reading the thread (gone through a dozen or so pages). This is awesome. I have been trying to build the Red/Rogue squad pilots (rogue is crazy expensive and I don't have a good hobbie option yet) For Rogue squadron I am using the older Hoth pilot torso and legs since it looks more accurate to Hoth than this version. I also started ordering the dual molded legs for imperial officers off pick a brick (for $.70 each). And I have been picking up the officer from the Darth Vader obi wan dual set (costs less to buy her than to buy the hat separately). Anyway here are my current red squadron pilots. I don't use custom parts and don't want to use the UCS pilot Luke torso and legs due to cost. I am wondering if the Luke Skywalker mech will have printed arms, then I will need to decide if I upgrade them again with something more affordable.

I see how that could make sense, my only question is then why have the heroes from a different part of the timeline than Vader? Why not do Ben Solo instead of Vader, or a dark Luke or Obi-wan instead of Rey? I think if the set was some strange "what if" that would fit the theme better. That is why I think Vader is the anniversary figure, and the rest is based on the post Rise of Skywalker Falcon Crew (just dark side versions), the gungan is probably some random character we haven't seen yet? This is just a theory, I could be completely wrong, but I just question the Dark Rey with White Vader unless one is the anniversary figure (and I lean towards that being Vader). Edit: regardless, I probably won't buy this set anyway (although I think conceptually it is cool) -

It was in a Falconfan iG post that Vader was likely the anniversary figure for that set. Also I think we are just guessing that this is a theme where a White Vader makes sense (like a what if theme). I personally do not think this is what the set is but suspect that it is based more on Rey's timeline (with the "Dark Side" toy line spin) given the cast is Rey, C-3PO, Chewie, a unknown gungan, and more? I would say the only one that doesn't fit the theme is a white Vader (as an anniversary figure) where the rest is all in the Falcon in the current continuity and are just "Dark Side" versions. Again though, not 100% confirmed, just likely that it is. -

The Zahn books were so much better than the Disney trilogy we got. Thankfully they brought Thrawn back, but it would have been nice to bring Mara Jade also. I do think in addition to the book cover she showed up in action figures and the Star Wars CCG game, and most recently Galaxy of Heroes (sure there is other media with her). Hopefully she is the book character since that is where she first showed up anyway (I doubt it, just hoping). Also, How funny would it be to get the Bo Gullet as the buildable creature set with Leia as the anniversary figure, then get the Saw anniversary figure with the infiltrator? -

Great list, I would also add Mara Jade, Leia Cloud City (post carbon freezing), or even Mara Jade -

I keep seeing the Vader is the anniversary figure in that set. So I think we have Vader, Cal, Malak, Fives, Leia (and one other). Also I watched Tiago's video on the midi scale, I like the falcon and Tantive a lot more after seeing all the different angles. I thought from the pictures they looked out of proportion, but They are a lot better than I had originally thought. I might need to reconsider them (and they would only need some slight modding to really excel which would be fun). Definitely going for the Tantive Hall, maybe the tantive midi, and the diorama for May the 4TH, if the promo is good Ill need to grab all three. -

I think the invisible hand looks the best of the three (falcon and tantive look off in some proportions). Happy to see more from the theme though. The Executor is one of my favorite things Lego Star Wars did last year. edit: hopefully we get some good mods from someone like 2bricks on the falcon or tantive to get them looking a little more proportional. -

Hopefully day one, one of the best scenes in Star Wars -
just grabbed the Death Star throne room (on sale). Great looking set, I think the two newer dioramas look better than the previous year's three, but wanted them on sale. Also picked up Garven Dreis from brick link along with wedge, and then some parts to make Jek Porkins (with Luke's pilot uniform) and Bigg's with hair (but with the original helmet). Now I have all six produced red squadron pilots, but all have current prints on their torso/legs with original style helmets. Hoping we get another named red squad pilot in the new X-Wing.

Maybe the Death Star took a Paige from Harry Potter with the modular castle, but ten death stars and it forms a sphere. (Joking I think a playset similar but counter to Yavin) -
Is there any possibility we get some actual playlets this year? With all the leaks that came out for later this year I am not sure there are any opportunities left? Like the "orange" theme I think is the minions. Just curious if there is any possibility of actual playlets this year.

I think Falconfan posted on IG that the anniversary figures were Fives, Malak, Cal, Leia, White Vader, and Jedi Bob (plus visual dictionary). Still some opportunities though with the newly leaked 25th anniversary set, GWPs, visual dictionary, and any unknowns. -

Death Star play set has 50% more pieces than Yavin? 1555 and no confirmed price? I am definitely guessing it will have a midi ship to compete with Yavin. -
I just want Lego to do better with the GWP this time around. Getting a Brickheadz that I already purchased last year wasn't good. Then seeing other big sets from themes get much better GWP just rubbed it in (Gringgots). I am holding out for 2X VIP if there is not a better GWP so that way I at least maximize a set I am going to buy this year. Id take $20 in VIP points and a better GWP to wait a few extra months for something I have already waited 10 years for knowing that I will still get it.
-
I bought Rivendell day one, I plan on buying Baradur day one (very excited). However, if there is no GWP like a small playset or an extra minifig I will likely wait on Barad dur until a 2x vip event and a decent GWP is available (maybe Black Friday). Still hoping to see a leak soon that there are three or four playlets late this year. I will get the new brickheaedz but only to stay complete all of the LOTR sets. I did like the Arwen/Aragorn set last year but generally do not prefer the Brickheadz line.

Regarding the sail barge. I think it should come with more than two mini figures and be more like the AT-AT with 9. Would make the piece count/rumored price feel better, although weight and looks of the model are important. On another UCS minfigure discussion. It would be sweet to get Soontir Fel with the UCS interceptor instead of a generic tie pilot. Plus since it will likely have arm printing they could do the red stripes (and modding the tie with the red stripe would be cool). I do not have the interceptor on my purchase list for this year, but having soontir Fel as the pilot would change my mind. Not sure how many named Imperial pilots we will get. -

The elevator would be great, that playset was awesome and I would be totally onboard for an elevator play feature or for the set to be like the Kenner one. I personally think the playset is meant to function with the Yavin Playset though (in the sense that you have the rebel base with rebel leaders troopers and the celebration scene, the imperial base with leaders? troopers?, and maybe the conference room or command bridge scene?, and a fight scene (Tantive Hallway) between the two factions). I am leaning toward it having a small scale ship because of that, but could see it without one just to have a faction base opposed to the Yavin base. I think its good for Kids with both playsets out and there are (hopefully) good minifigure options for collectors (I picked up some of the Yavin figures (Garven and Dutch) on Bricklink but will probably buy my kid Yavin at some point this year). Just my thoughts but I am excited to see what this one is as it is probably the most mysterious of the summer wave other than the "creature build" and sail barge (mostly because there are no official leaks on that to my knowledge). -

Agreed on the officers situation with Lego. We really need another LT, a updated CPT rank, and some crew members (with grey hats). We have had a lot of unique non OT officers but their rank does not line up and Sloane didn't have the hat. Hoping the Death Star set has at least an LT or crew member unfortunately all of the LTs and crew members in the Death Star have the black uniform as far or black hat with grey uniform as far as I can tell. Also hoping the set has a midi scale tie advanced (or one like the Vader's castle) with a small command center above the docking bay. to make it a true counterpart to the Yavin set. -

I believe it is (and should be) a playset as I think it would be cool to keep getting opposing base playsets like Yavin and the Death Star (Hoth vs. Executor, Home One vs. Endor Bunker, Theed vs. Lucrehulk etc.). Especially if paired with a battle set like the Tantive Hallway (both rebel troops and imperial troops with two command bases and unique characters). Really good concept if it continues. I just want more clarity because for whatever reason this set has had a lot of conflicting information. -

I am really curious what the Death Star set is all about. It was leaked separately/later from the others in most of the leaks I saw, has the least consistent info on the character selections (seen things from 5-8 characters) with the only consistent part being Cal (anniversary) and Vader. Has conflicting reports on what it is (conference room only vs. playset) - I suspect playset like Yavin but half the size. Initially had the price wrong with the earliest leaks. Etc. This is also the set I am most excited for with the summer wave (minus Thrawn's set). Hoping we get better info (especially on the character selection) sooner than later.
