Nothing is %100 confirmed at this point, especially that set. TLG doesn't have the technology yet to print all around minifig arms, nor does it have the budget to. Besides, WW's gauntlets aren't nearly as important as GL's and Mandarin's rings.I'm also curious how they will do the Mandarin's rings. The best bet is that they'll include a few color variations of the LOTR ring in each set. No it couldn't. Ultrabuild figures always have different set numbers than the System sets. I think the others are right in saying that it will be a set based on the scene where he tests out the Extremis armor in his workshop.

The Penguin's Movie and Cartoon Minifigures. )
Oky replied to The Penguin's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Yeah, that's a pretty cool fig. As it already has been said, cutting off the neck was very effective. But I think it would be really cool if you would make a version of this fig using the Hulk body and cutting a hole in its stomach to be able to fit the upcoming Kraang brain inside! I also love your Cpt. Hook by the way. It's so spot-on! Can't wait to see what else you come up with. -
Keep in mind, though, that Baxter Stockman looks different in this show. He's a mixture of his African American version from the comics/2003 series and the dorky one from the original show. To be honest, this is my least favorite version of him. He's just pathetic. His mech suit is pretty cool though. I'm curious how TLG will handle it.

Yes, it does look a bit out of scale, especially since it has its tentacles all spread out, but not too badly. Its head is still within 2x2 studs, so one could still imagine it to be able to squeeze itself into a minifig body.By the way, I disagree with BrickG, I don't think a minifig would fit into that pod, only the Kraang does.

Well, it took forever, but I was finally able to download the pictures. I can describe them if you want, but I wont upload them anywhere in order not to get in trouble with TLC or the mods here. The Kraang Lab Escape has a prison pod for Mikey that looks a lot like the lower half of the turret in 7749 Echo Base, except it has four trans-neon green bars instead of one of the cylinder halves, and it has a little pod for the new molded Kraang that looks like the top part of that turret, but with the color scheme and bubble canopy of the Alien Conquest UFOs and with 3 or 4 of those little Hero Factory claws as legs. It also includes a foot soldier and a pizza for some odd reason. It definitely looks like a $10 set. The Dragon Bike is just a big, ugly Technic bike with a small brick-built dragon head as the front mudflap. Donnie has a 2x6 brown plate on wheels with some greeble on it which I guess is supposed to represent a big motorized skateboard. Not very inspiring, but it reminds me of some toys from the 90's. It's probably a $20 set. I don't like the look of this set at all, but you'll have to get it if you want Shredder or Don, and maybe it'll look better in the final version. I'll get the Kraang Lab set for sure, and maybe the Shreeder and Turtle Lair sets if I can afford them. That's the best way to get all four turtles, along with Splinter, Shredder, and Kraang I think.

Does anyone think that printed cockpit cone on the B-Wing could be used for a Mini Falcon?

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5 Discussion

So now they're gonna butcher the Ilum story arc too? Ugh. And it will be 4 episodes long and geared towards younger fans? I have a bad feeling about this. -
Yeah, I think that's very likely. Hopefully it will be a cheap set. While I'm not a big fan of their weapons either, I understand why they did it that way. In the new show, their weapons can convert to bladed versions. For example, Don's bo converts to a naginata (as you can see below), so I think whatever set(s) Donnie comes with will include some kind of blade that you can switch out for one of the short bars. It's a nice play feature which wouldn't be possible if he had a one-mold staff. But if it bothers you so much, you can always just use Wu's/Gandalf's staff for him instead. It's a very common piece.

Thanks again, CM4S. That's strange; this set is indeed slightly smaller than the castle as I predicted, so why does it have a higher set number?
-
These sets are pretty good. The less stereotypical ones are obviously the best. I like all the details in the karate set, such as the bonzai tree and the water bottle. It's very important to stay hydrated! Those boys from Ninjago could learn a thing or two from Emma. I don't get why people don't like the pool set though. True, the minidoll count is very low for a set of that size and it's a very typical Polly Pocket like set, but I think it looks great for what it is and feels like a throwback to Paradisa. As for the animal packs... Not so fond of them. They're not bad and I'm sure girls will love them, but they just don't interest me as the animals are too cutesy to be used as anything other than toys in other themes. Oh well, good thing there will be some boy-oriented sets with turtles in them next year as well. Come to think of it, I wonder who will be the first to buy four of the turtle set to make a TMNT origin scene.

I don't know, I like it. It allows for a lot of customization. I also like how they used a regular minifig head with a mask instead of one molded head to allow for different facial expressions.

Thanks. The Spidey one is referring to the fact that both Sheik Amar and Doc Ock are played by Alfred Molina. He also played Satipo from Indiana Jones, but I couldn't work him into the joke since I don't have him.

Thanks for the image. Let's hope the other one will surface soon too. The set looks pretty good, but the figures are pretty bad as usual. Ariel looks horribly deformed, Flounder is huge, and Sebastian is not even a fig. He looks like he's frozen in an ice cube. Oh, I completely forgot about that set. Here are the images we have so far. If a mod is reading this, please remove the word "princess" from the topic title so that we can make this a general Duplo Disney thread.

Thanks! I'm glad somebody got the joke. I was afraid the reference might be too old. Anyway, here are some more. I don't think it's possible to build something that looks like the one from the movie and at the same time is stable enough for a little kid to play with. Your best bet is to go with one of the designs that TLG used and just modify it a bit to look closer to the movie version.

Haha, I love that samurai Appa! The improved mecha tank is great too.

I think you can also use the Way Back Machine, although I don't have much experience with it, so I don't know how well it would work.

LEGO Batman The Movie DC Super Heroes United.
Oky replied to DarthSion's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Gordon is TDKR style, so not really part of Lego's Batman universe. I guess you have a point about Penguin, but I prefer the old design. Besides, those character only have small cameos, so does it really matter? If it does include Green Lantern or one of the other heroes, I'll definitely buy it, but if it's just one of the special Batman or Robin suits, I'll pass. -
It had the same mold, but not the same play feature. By the way, am I the only one who's a bit disappointed that these aren't marbled like the previous versions? I always liked the frosty look they had.Mr. Freeze's gun does look a bit better from this angle, but I still dislike the lance-like shape. And I too am disappointed that we didn't get white batarangs.

Hm, the planet sets seem a bit disappointing at first glance. The mini models are pretty good as usual (except for the TIE Bomber which looks too blocky as Brickdoctor said) but the planets themselves don't look as good as I had hoped. For instance, I was expecting Coruscant to be a very dark sphere with yellow lines rather than a gray one with orange lines, but it still looks good. All the other planets just look boring to me, but to be honest, I don't know how they could have done them better. The minifigs are also very uninteresting at this point, but since some of them seem to be preliminary stand-ins (such as R5-F7 standing in for R4-P17) I'll reserve further judgement until we see final pics. I hope the Clone Pilot will end up having updated non-CW torso print and finally an accurate helmet without a fin (although I'm not holding my breath on the latter). Actually, what I said is that they don't seem to have holes, but yes, Rex not having an "antenna" (= range finder) is indeed a good indication that my fears are probably true.

Yes, here it is, but don't get excited, it's just the cutscenes from the videogame.

The scheduling of the Ant Man movie is indeed a bit puzzling, but I think they could still show Ant Man and Wasp with their powers in A2 by having their movie be sort of a prequel to A2. It might be confusing to some viewers, but maybe they could have Nick Fury briefly explain their background to the Avengers or something. After all, they didn't give Hawkeye any backstory either, but still included him in the movie. His appearance in Thor was just a cameo and many didn't know who was back then.

I don't think one new mold is going to justify marking up the price so much. The Elite Clone Trooper BP had a new helmet mold too, plus a new pauldron, a new kama, a new droid head, leg printing, new helmet printing on the ARF trooper, and several pieces in new colors. It also had 98 pieces, one of the highest piece counts of all BPs, and yet it was the same price as any other BP. Therefore, I think it would be very unfair to make the TOR BP way more expensive than it needs to be just because of one helmet and some leg printing. And as you said, it would make it a lot more attractive for people if it was cheaper, even if they're not familiar with TOR.
-
Did anyone notice that there are two commando droids in the minifig lineup of the BARC speeder, but only one in both the box art and out of box pics? Probably a mistake. Yeah, that's what I'm hoping too. Yeah, the TOR BP definitely looks smaller. I only count about 33 pieces whereas other BPs are usually 70-90 pieces. The Clones vs. Droidekas BP has 124 pieces, so a lot more than usual BPs, but since it only has two minifigs and most of the pieces are very small, I don't think it will be more expensive. However, the size of the TOR BP gives me hope that it will be below $10, even though it's the same price as all the other BPs on the website these were posted on. I really hope so because otherwise it would have a terrible price-to-piece ratio (about 1:4!).

I just noticed something... The Phase II helmets don't seem to have holes for visors in them!!! I hope it's just because the pictures are so small since it would be terrible if we wouldn't be able to convert them to commanders. It would make the new mold completely pointless in my opinion. I don't think so. I think they will have the new stormtrooper heads.
