You're considering buying these sets just because of what this thread is about? Seriously, though, I think you fail to see the point of this thread yet again, Rancor. This is not a "Oh, I'm so gonna get this, but I'm not getting that" thread. It's not for commenting on already released sets either. That's what the review threads are for. This thread is for discussing rumors and facts about upcoming sets - the ones in the first post. KimT has been rather clear about that IMO. Sorry for mini-moding. Back on topic: Do you guys think that the new sets will have the old kind of R2 (white dome) or the new DS kind (grey dome). I know this has been discussed before, but I don't remember us getting to any conclusion. And this will be a big factor in my decision to buy or not to buy the Endor Battle and Ywing sets. So, any idea?

Poor trooper! He can't see anything. They must've run out of ink. This should be worth quite a bit!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! I really like this holiday (because green is my favorite color). But the ones where you get presents and/or candy are better. Nah, just kidding. Green ON!

Okaaay... Back on topic: Wow! Those look great! Creationary? As in Pictionary with bricks instead of crayons? That's awesome! One can only hope that the things you have to build are a little more challenging than airplanes and cars. Too bad AFOLs will always win in this game either way. The Labyrinth one looks good too! I love that game, and since you can build a different labyrinth every time you play, it will never get boring! Not so sure about the pirate and Egypt ones... Somehow I don't understand the point of these games yet. But they are all definitely great parts packs! Sigh... If only there were really such Spartan minifigs! Perhaps it's foreshadowing a new theme? I'm getting more and more mad that these wont be released here!

Very nice! Quite accurate. I wouldn't know how to make it any better. But does this really qualify as a vehicle?

Hm... "Jedi Hunter" sounds good. If Anakin weren't in that episode, I'd say the villain of that story is General Grievous (based on the title), which would be awesome. But I guess not. Perhaps it's a new villain? We'll see. Well, if by the beginning of Season 2, I'm guessing the Season 1 finale ends with , so there wont be much of a cliffhanger. That's true, but I guess that's because it was never confirmed what episode number it is.

Is it? In Ep V, Yoda raised an X-Wing out of a swamp and made it sound like an easy task. Size does not matter, remember? So I believe that he would be able to move bigger ships such as the landing crafts as well. And just like Jedi use force jump in the movies, wouldn't it be possible for a highly skilled jedi master such as Windu to accelerate his punches? If you think about it, it's not all that ridiculous. Besides, it's a cartoon. Anything is possible in cartoons. In fact, that's the whole purpose of cartoons: to make the impossible possible! And you have to admit that those scenes were pretty damn cool; and that's all that matters. I agree. Too bad that the computer animation of the new show is so costly and hard to make. Otherwise, I'm sure that they could do a much better job.

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
Oky replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
The Mining Station sure sounds good no matter if it's a big or small set! Don't worry, you're not stupid. Just crazy. -
The more I think about it, the more it makes sense. Quite clever actually. "Another"? Who was being disrespectful? There was only one comment where a member said that he finds those artworks funny, but I think he simply stated that this is his type of humor and didn't mean anything disrespectful. But I'm sorry if you were offended by that. Then what is the point of including the lego logo? If you ask me, there is clearly some intent of humor in these, even though a very macabre one. I agree! It would be hard to make out that the pixels are supposed to be bricks if they were smaller. Then again, rules are rules...

More like Kit Fisto's locker! Yet another dazzling MOC from you! Very nice work! It really conveys the feel of a shipwreck well and uses some interesting techniques. The use of the Fisto head is very fitting. I wonder what he would look like with a pirate hat. But what are those red and black and orange cylinders with teeth on them supposed to be? Dynamite? Fruit? Plants? All of the above?

Calm down, guys! This may not even be the final release date! For the US, it said March 10 for a while, but was then changed back to 30th. Besides, are you really all that eager to spend 250 Euros? And just for the record: You did get something earlier than us - the magnificent Fighter Tank! And we had to wait much more than a month to get it, so don't forget that! And I'm pretty sure the video I posted hasn't been posted before. You're welcome.

Another thing I don't like about the new show too much is that all jedi are almost kind of the same. In the old cartoon, they all demonstrated individual powers, strengths, and weaknesses. In the new show, they all seem to be capable of the same things, except for Mace Windu who appears to be a bit more skilled. In both series, there are episodes focused on certain jedi, but in the new one, it could be any jedi most of the time. For example, the episodes focused on Kit Fisto were quite different. In the old show, we saw him using unique force powers such as force bubble, but in the new one, he does everything any other jedi would do. Of course, it's hard to have him using unique force powers outside of the water, but still. Also, even though Yoda and Mace Windu seem stronger than the other jedi in the new show, they aren't much different from them, whereas they did awesome things in the old cartoon that clearly differentiated them from all other jedi such as moving a whole separatist landing craft with the force or taking out a whole army of SBDs with bare hands! Now that's the kind of stuff I'd like to see in the new CW series!

WTF? Uhm, yeah, somehow I highly doubt that these are from TLG. But then again, it has the copyrighted Lego logo. If these are not from TLC, someone needs to get sued - badly. These are not bad actually, though. Where did you find 'em?

There are video reviews of two of the new Indy sets on SW.com: Temple of Doom Venice Chase

I too have a feeling it's over soon. There aren't many kid-friendly sets TLC can get out of this line anymore IMHO. But we'll see.

There is a small review video of the Venator on SW.com: Link Nothing really new, but a nice way of seeing all the functions of the set.

Castlepunk tank or something like that.
Oky replied to the lord of the brick's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That certainly looks unique! Very nice work! One question though: If it's being powered by the chicken, why does it need cows to pull it? Oh, and welcome to EB! -
I don't get it. What do you want me to do? As long as the holocron replica isn't done yet, everyone can do what they want, basically. Also, why do you want to go to your own Venator?
-
Awesome! It's... so... mesmerizing...
-
Not much of a change, but yeah, I suppose she looks more toad-like now.

If you could revive any one dead theme...
Oky replied to Darth Legolas's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Harry Potter definitely! Regardless of how awesome Harry Potter is, the Lego theme consisted of many great sets that brought us a ton of new and highly useful parts & figs! But Avatar would be cool too! There are still so many cool sets that could be made from this show, as Hinckley's Entry Raffle has proven! -
It's quite green alright! Not much else to say about it except for what has already been said: The garden gnome is great, but the brick-built bush thingy on the right is weird. I would take it out and replace it with something simple in normal green so that it doesn't distract the viewer. Plant oiling on!
-
Don't forget, though, that there are a lot of dark jedi and wanna-be siths like Ventress.

They are ARF troopers. Yes, "ARF". Not to be confused with NARF. Well, in an early draft of this episode, he was! Basically, assassin droids are more logical, strategic, and creative, while droid commandos are better in infiltration and imitating clones. Also, they use different kinds of weapons, and I think the commandos are better at hand-to-hand combat. Well, I'm not so exited about the MTT (because I already have two of 7661 ), but a CW-style Republic Cruiser would definitely be sweet, especially if it's based on the episode "Jedi Crash" and includes Ayla Secura and Bly! Please, TLC! Btw, do you know who Cad Bane reminds me off? This guy! I must say, I really like his voice! It just fits so well! Can't wait for Friday! Even though it will be the last CW episode for a (too) long while.

First off, this was a pretty good episode! But it could have been better. This was one of those cases where all the good parts have already been shown in the trailer. Mace was cool (better than any Jedi in this show has been so far) but not as amazingly awesome as some of us had hoped. I don't exactly know what I was expecting, but I guess I was hoping for Mace to live up to his badassness that he had in the old CW cartoon. What was I thinking! This show will never be as good as that one. At least they had a shatterpoint move in it. But somehow I think it will be a while until we see Mace busting out some vapaad in this show. Oh well. The story was pretty good, even though it was oddly paced as some have pointed out. Here are my thoughts: I guess we now finally know how troops are being deployed from an AT-TE. Anyone care to make such a mod to the 7675? Premier of the Hyena Bomber! These look even more like TIE bombers in the show than the Lego model. I agree that this episode made the clones seem kinda useless. Then again, anyone standing next Mace Windu looks useless. No AT-OT. No Laat/c. No Wampa nose art. WTF! I wonder where these will show up. I don't think they'll be in the next episode, so they have to appear in the second season. But if that's so, I wonder why we are getting the set so early then. I like how Dooku tried to make a profit out of this defeat. Too bad, though, that his plan didn't work since the bombers were destroyed before they could destroy the capital. It would have been great if it would have worked since this trillogy would have ended with a partial Seperatist victory, but nooo, it had to be another pure Republic victory. The surprise appearance of the awesome droid commandos was truly nice! But we barely saw anything of them. Here's for hoping that they'll have a bigger role in the next episode! I liked how Syndulla's blaster looked kinda like Han Solo's. Speaking of Syndulla, I liked how the webcomic was done like a ballad. About Wat Tambor being a captive now: Maybe there will be an episode at some point where General Grievous (or Cad Bane) leads an attack to bust him, Lok Durd, and Loathsome out of prison! That would be one awesome episode! Who else spotted the Ark of the Covenant? Just watch the preview of this ep on SW.com. It's a group of the best bounty hunters of the CW which includes Aura Sing. And it looks like they're getting help from droid commandos and assassin droids! I think they can manage it. Interesting! What's also good about this: I am a future digital artist living in California! Hopefully they'll still be hiring by the time I am done with my education.
