  1. Mind posting a pic, or even making a review with comparison pics? It's the one PoP set we don't have a review of yet. Even thought the quality issue is sad, isn't it kinda cool that you can get the same minifig parts with color variations? Could be useful for MOCs.
  2. "Toysaurus"? Never heard of that kind of dino before. Anyway, Borders has yet another 30% off of any one item coupon. Valid until the 5th.
  3. I just received a newsletter from Lego where they confirm that the VIP program will be applicable to S@H soon: This is reason enough for me to like VIP better than the stamps! Can't wait for it to go into effect! (And no, this is not some stupid joke.)
  4. Hehe, nice. Good job to whoever made that, even though the head needed a bit more work. I just watched the original movie and I must say that a TRON theme could be neat, especially with all the new vehicles they want to introduce in the new movie. Hey! Here's an idea: Why don't we have a TRON set design contest? Maybe at the end of the year after Legacy comes out. As for car licenses, I would love to see the new Ford Mustang made into a set!
  5. Sorry to break it to you, but as of now, the Republic Gunship is no longer available. It has vanished from Shop @ Home, TRU, Target, and any other major shopping site. Sorry.
  6. Bwahahaha! Nice one, Siegfried! Uhm, yeah. What are you getting at?
  7. Yeah, or conFETTi. (Bad pun, I know.) Seriously, even if Sieg was telling the truth, these suck. As Lightingtiger said, who'd want a pink Mando anyway.
  8. Great find indeed! You've done your name justice once more, just2good! Funny how all the TS sets seem to debut in California. Anyway, I was browsing the Lego section of Kmart's website because of their buy-3-get-one-free sale, and to my surprise, they had Lotso's Dump Truck listed (out of stock of course). It has a new pic of the set where you can see the Stretch and Chunk figs quite clearly. I've made a screencap for you guys. Just click the pic below to get to the page. But more importantly, I found a pic of what appears to be an Alien Claw Machine set! It looks awesome and I can't wait for it to come out! I can't post it because it's preliminary, so here a link instead: Clicky!

    MOC: Appa

Hello there. As you may know, I'm a huge fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of the show when the sets came out, so I missed out on them. But a few days ago, I finally got my hands on the Avatar minifigs through good old Bricklink, and when they arrived, I knew I had to make Appa, the avatar's lovable flying bison! So, without further ado, here he is! In case you can't tell, the above image was inspired by the Book 1 Vol. 5 DVD cover. A back view: Here's the same angle, but without the figs and with the tail raised. Side, top, and bottom view. Getting the shape of the saddle-thingy and fur pattern right was hard, but I'm satisfied with the result. I'm also quite happy with how the face turned out, even thought the colors and the shape of the horns aren't completely accurate. Here's a comparison pic with the "real thing". And here are some classic Appa scenes. Take that, Fire Nation! Appa and Momo fight over some food. More pics here. I hope you like it, and that this has inspired you to make your own Avatar mocs. EB has a real lack of those. I'm planning to make more Avatar MOCs myself in the future, so look out for those. Comments and criticism are welcome. EDIT: If you want this to become a set, please support it on Lego Cuusoo: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/8890 "Appa, Yip Yip!"
  10. Hello there. Just wanted to let everybody know that I found some Magna Guard Starfighters and V19 Torrents in my local Borders and Books store. If you're still interested in buying those, you might be able to find them there.
  11. Meh, that AT-AT doesn't really appeal to me at all. It looks just like the others, only smaller. Anyway, here is a pic of the Ackbar magnet set, complete with the silly typos and the sticker to correct them: Credit to Brickset.
  12. Well, I'm sure that hardly anyone expected this to be on par with the work of the world's best animation studios. But it was still better than most unlicensed Lego animations we have seen so far, don't you think?
  13. Well, I saw How to Train Your Dragon now, and man, what a great movie! It's pure viking and dragon awesomeness! Made me take out my Vikings sets and wish I had bought more of them. Seriously, it's a really good action adventure for the whole family! It has great animation, great action, great humor, and a nice story. Definitely one of Dreamworks' best works, and I would certainly not mind seeing it again. I did not see it in 3D, so I can't comment on that. I can imagine that it could be interesting in 3D, but certainly not necessary. I can recommend it to anyone, especially fans of the Vikings theme. Also, I started watching Disney's Fantasia. Last time I saw it, I was like four years old, so most of it was pretty boring to me and my parents had to fast forward to the parts with anthropomorphic animals which told "a definite story", so this is the first time I'm seeing it in its entirety. We watched up until the first intermission. Not sure when we will watch the rest. It's certainly one of Disney's more mature works, and now that I'm studying art, I can appreciate it much better. Meh. Didn't like that movie at all. Way too boring and pointless for me. But yeah, the way it was shot wasn't bad actually.
  14. Thanks to the 40% off coupon for Borders, I got the Magna Guard Starfighter for $27! Pretty good deal for a discontinued set.
  15. Well, since no one showed up at the time we agreed on, I'm just gonna leave now. How come we can't get this going?
  16. Move Hailfire from N37 to P37 Move Snail Tank from J38 to J37 Move Snail Tank from Q34 to Q33 Move AAT from K32 to J32 Move HSD from S33/T33 to S32/T32
  17. Move Hailfire from L37 to N37 Turn Snail Tank from K39 to J38 Move Snail Tank from Q35 to Q34 Turn AAT from L31 to K32 Move HSD from S34/T34 to S33/T33
  18. They have arrived! Expect my first Avatar MOC soon! And maybe a review of the Dark Panther.
  19. All I gotta say is: I told you so! I think this deserves a deeplink.
  20. Uhm, have you ever heard of 10197 Fire Brigade? Just kidding, I get your point. Even though previous bases were much taller than this, they relied heavily on raised baseplates, giant windows, BURPs, etc. It's good to see a decently sized base that is mostly made out of bricks. As for the Eiffel Tower, yes, it's one of the tallest sets ever. It's definitely up there with Lady Liberty. (pun intended) Does anyone know which one is taller? Double fail! Because Siegfried is too lazy to update the index. If by "rover" you mean 5979 Max Security Transport, there already is an excellent review for that. You just gotta search for it. If you have some of those old unreviewed sets, feel free to review them! About SP3 ending, yes, it's probably dying. Not only because it wasn't featured in the recent catalog much, but mostly because of the short life span of action themes these days. Oh yeah, and emoticons for the win!
  21. MOC please! Seriously, we need some more Atlantis MOCs! Are you sure about that? I can only see a technic launcher and two flick fires on the Atlantis mech. The Alpha Team one didn't have flick fires, but lots of those Star Wars gun pieces. By the way, am I the only one who actually liked that Alpha Team mech? Also, I just noticed that those round proppeller holding things on the Atlantis mech are red on the box art, but lime on the vehicle pic. Which is the final version? I like to think it's the lime version since that piece has not existed in that color before (and because I need that piece for MOCs). But then again, that box art looks pretty final...
  22. I was in a cheesy-animated-alien-movie mood lately. Planet 51 - cute, average, little movie. The plot is basic and unoriginal. The animation is pretty mediocre, and it draws most of its humor from movie references and slapstick. Seriously, it's one reference after the other, to the point that it gets annoying. If you're into that kinda thing though, you might enjoy it. Kids certainly will, even if they don't get the references. I liked the Rover. Monsters VS. Aliens - Slightly better, but not by much. But then again, what can you expect from a movie with such a title? The animation was finer, it seemed to have a bit more heart, and was overall more enjoyable. However, most of the good jokes were given away in the trailers. And it was too obvious that this film was made for 3D, what with all the objects that come extremely close to the camera and all. It wasn't too bad, but still makes you wish that this whole 3D craze will end soon. Overall, it's nice, but definitely one of Dreamworks' less good movies. I liked Dr. Cockroach, Insectosaurus' transformation near the end, and the cameo of . Favorite quote: "By Hawkins' chair!" Gonna watch their new movie, How To Train Your Dragon this weekend! It doesn't have aliens, but I guess dragons and Norsemen are close enough.
  23. Toy Story 3, hands down! Iron Man 2 and PoP look like they'll be quite entertaining as well. I'm also curious about The Last Airbender, seeing as I am a huge fan of the cartoon, but it's doubtful that it will live up to the greatness of the show. And they're not summer releases, but I'm looking forward to Tron Legacy and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.
  24. Seeing as these games are great part packs, yes, a Toy Story game would be amazing! Perhaps some kind of Star Command VS. Zurg game with lots of Zurg tiles and new Star Command tiles! Or a board game with micro figs of all the TS characters! Either way, I'd buy it for sure. And of course, any Star Wars themed board game would be welcome as well! We're still waiting for that minifig-scale SW chess game, Lego! (By minifig-scale, I mean like the Castle ones with minifigs, not actual minifig scale of course )
