Good topic, especially for PoP month. Tough call too. But I think my vote goes to the quarter dome piece. It makes models such as the Grand Emporium or Slave I look so much better, and it simply looks lovely in pearl gold! Although, things like the new hair pieces or the katana holder are pretty darn neat too. Let's just face it: PoP is just comprised of awesome!

I just found out about these two Atlantis Activity Books which are available from amazon.co.uk! Click the pics to get to the amazon pages: The first one seems like a nice and cheap way of getting a Squid Warrior! I really hope these come out over here too!

For the third category, does it need to be a single stand or could it be a combination of several different ones? Also, if we use a baseplate, does it count as a part?

One lucky bastard by the looks of that nurse! "Hellooooooooo Nurse!" By the way, brickset reports that the bags will have barcodes on them which can tell you what fig is inside, but of course you'll need a scanner to read them.

9 Hello there. Perhaps you are familiar with a little animated movie called "9" by Shane Acker and Tim Burton, or the award winning short film it is based on. It's an awesome movie about a gang of nine living ragdolls fighting against evil robots which have wiped out humanity in a post-apoc world! This is my tribute to that movie, a MOC of the main character, 9. Here is a reference pic: In his one hand, he holds the light staff which he constructed together with 5, and in the other, he has the talisman which is used to transport souls and ultimately to destroy the Fabrication Machine. "So much thought... the details..." - 2 "9, you shall protect the future!" - The Scientist More pics in this brickshelf folder. C&C welcome.

"A Obey Kink Now" I never knew there were subliminal messages hidden in my username! Also good ones: "Awoken By Oink", "Yak Bone In Wok", and "Bake Ink Now Yo". Clearly He Who Must Not Be Named used much more sinister and powerful tools to create his name than the interwebs. ALL HAIL KINK!

While it wasn't a great show, it was certainly one of the more watchable X-Men shows, and kept me interested enough to keep watching. Too bad to see it go too.

Fox: "It's over, witch! This is your assignation!" Asajj: "My what?" Fox: "Assignation." Asajj: "OK... What am I being assigned to?" Fox: "Death!" *Cuts throat.* Nice little vignette. Though I agree it's a strange way for her to die. What's that telescope supposed to be? Actually, she doesn't. She was going to, but then the new CW show came around and they decided to revive her. Oh well, at least this allowed us to get a minifig of her.

Sorry. Just thought it was a bit unnecessary. I never meant to imply that you were the one posting threads about every cartoon, def. And excuse me if my overreacting skills aren't as great as yours, Batbrick! I guess widening it to all Marvel cartoons is better. What do you mean "criminally passed over"? I've only seen the minisodes of the MTV one. It didn't seem very good. And yes, the 90s one is overrated. The timing on it was terrible. Sometimes I didn't even know what was going on, which is why I stopped watching after only a few episodes. Hopefully this new show will be decent. As for Marvel movies, Doctor Strange and Iron Man were pretty lame. Planet Hulk was alright, I guess. Hulk VS. Thor/Wolverine was amazing, though, and so was the Ultimate Avengers trilogy, although the last one with the kids wasn't so great.

Wow, what a great contest! Such cool categories and such neat prizes! How did you ever get TLG to sponsor a contest? I'll definitely try to enter all categories. This is gonna be fun! Just one question: For the first category, does it need to be based on the movie "Sands of Time" or could it be based on any of the games too, including sequels?

It always makes me so sad when quality cartoons like this get canceled before their time. Spectacular really had potential. Oh well. But why didn't you just post this in the cartoons thread where the discussion about this show was taking place? I mean, why create a new topic? The purpose of the cartoon thread was it not to have a thread for every single cartoon out there.
-
What's bad timing about it? Interesting idea, but I think it's more space efficient this way. I agree with both of those statements. I, too, think that the constipated face would have been better for the banner. And while we're giving constructive criticism, I also think that there is too much empty space on the right side of the banner. Perhaps some more Hassassins would have been good there. Siegfried is a genie!! *runs off to rub a blue bucket*

Aw man! I was so hoping for a Toy Story month! Oh well, PoP month is still pretty neat. I agree that it's a bit early, though. I don't have any PoP sets yet either because I'm waiting for the double VIP points days at the lego store (April 26 - 30). Hopefully I'll get the sets in time to participate in the theme month. I'm very curious what the contest will be about. Will it be about creating oriental-themed MOCs? Or perhaps something more whacky, revolving around the word "pop"? I hope it's the first guess, as that could spawn some really great MOCs like Svelte's Alamut Gate. Can't wait to see all those PoPified avatars!

Indeed, I was kidding. Sorry if I came across differently. I'd be happy to help you out as a mod, Siegfried, if you are looking for an apprentice. Excuse me? I did use a "tongue" emoticon. I thought that was clear enough. Actually, there are reviews of those too, as you can tell by Siegfried's excellently updated review index, but feel free to review it anyway. The more the merrier. That's nice of you, but uhm, those tiny thumbnails don't really help much in that regard. There are much better pics of the minifigs all over the internet, especially in FBTB's Toy Fair coverage.
-
Hm, that sounds almost too good to be true. Then again, they did say that they would distribute them in some way over S@H... IF galaxyfe from FBTB can be trusted that is. Meditate on this, I will.

It's not a matter of not caring, it's a matter of technical difficulties. ADHO has been having problems with is internet lately, and everyone is just waiting for him to get his stuff together. No clue what's taking so long. Perhaps ADHO has lost interest in his own game, but I hope that's not the case.

Yes, that's right. The Lego Store Calendar for May shows us that we are in for another Lego Star Wars exclusive on May 3 & 4 this year: Will it be a poster again? Maybe even the same one? Or could it be actual Lego this time? Discuss!
-
Is that your own opinion or do you know this for sure? I hope that's not the case... Anyway, good to see you and other people like it too. Indeed. Though the DuckTales one will always have a special place in my heart. The one of Buzz Lightyear of Star Command is also great. Have you guys seen the teaser for the new Season of Futurama? Pretty neat, eh? Consider me excited. The movies they made were kinda meh, but I think that's because there wasn't enough material to fill out the time. Futurama works best as 30 min episodes. Remember, the Season premiere is on June 24 at 10:00 PM on Comedy Central! Speaking of comedy central, the new season of South Park is great! My favorite episode so far is Medicinal Fried Chicken. Anyone else excited for the new show on CN, "Generator Rex"? It's from the makers of Ben 10. While the current show, Ben 10 Alien Force may suck (with few exceptional episodes), the original Ben 10 show was pretty good IMO, and Rex seems to be much more in the spirit of that one. In fact, I could see a decent line of sets coming from it, with the show being based on machinery rather than aliens. It looks good, and I'll definitely give it a try. I mean, how can you go wrong with a monkey (or ape) and a secret agent as sidekicks?
-
Thanks for the pics, Pi! It's a pitty that the train's interior is done so poorly, but it's good to hear that most of the parts are printed. Has anyone taken pics of Rex with his legs or tail taken off? How well can you move 'em? Agreed, though the Garbage Truck is a close second. There's no back window so that you can seat Rex in the back without having to take his tail off. Too bad for the window, but that's an easy mod. So how about the price? And where is it going to be exclusive to?
-
Thanks for all the pics, guys & gals! Unfortunately I can't attend it myself because it's a bit too far away. So close and yet so far. Wow! What great detail! Well, it is a pizza delivery truck after all. That pizza shooter is quite hilarious. Is it a new piece? Also, any word on what the price is gonna be?

Sorry for double posting, but I simply have to talk about the latest episode, Chill of the Night! What an amazing episode! Easily my favorite out of the whole show! It had such a great, dark, BTAS-esque tone to it. It really surprises me that they would make such a dark episode in a otherwise so light-hearted show. Almost makes me feel bad for the kiddies who were watching this. Almost. The all-star voice cast definitely added to the experience! It really felt good seeing all of Batsy's rogues together again like that. The new designs were very good. Poison Ivy looked very pretty and dangerous at the same time, just like she should. The only one I didn't like so much was Freeze. He just looked like some retro spaceman. But that's OK. I hope to see more of these characters in the future. And while I still think the new Joker looks weird, his jokes are still great. "Well that's a killer" The Spectre was a great character too, and not only because he was voiced by good ol' Hamill. All in all, an awesome episode! Speaking of the Spectre, have you seen the DC Showcase on him on the Crisis on Two Earths DVD? Wow, some creepy stuff. The Super-Batman of Planet X was better than I expect as well. I thought it would be stupid to have a Batman with super powers, but it turned out to be quite hilarious seeing bats step into Superman's shoes and flying around fighting crime with his powers and his theme song. The punchline with Arrow was pretty funny too. Rothul sounds way cooler than Luthor, but that doesn't save him from being a lame villain. "What makes you think you can beat him this time?" "Because I'm a genius! Shut up!" Oh well, still a good ep. EDIT: Just saw the Shazam episode. It was pretty good. I liked the (super) scientist. Gotta love that stereotypical British accent. I was surprised that this little nerd actually succeeded with his plan, considering how nerds are usually treated in this show. The ending was very nice too. The only thing I didn't like is the fact that Captain Marvel could transform indoors and even underground without destroying the ceiling, and yet the lightning could be caught with a lighting rod. Thoughts? Comments?

Sweet! They have the Camper girl's hair! That new torch piece also looks useful. But that Knights Helmet doesn't look very dark grey, does it? I think I'll hold off on ordering until I can actually see what I'm ordering. -
Yes, I remember that feeling. It was a good feeling. I'm not really missing it, though. I think hunting for prelim images on the web is a whole new type of excitement. Sure there's some frustration involved, but the thirst for knowledge, as you call it, is strong enough for me to ignore it. Plus, all this knowledge has helped me expand my collection by informing me about all sales beforehand. Besides, there are still some sets that TLC is able to hide from us until the last minute, so the feeling of surprise isn't completely gone.
-
Wow, what a disappointment. I was hoping Rex's arms would be stuck in like Buzz' wings so you could reuse them in MOCs, but it looks like you can't even move them individually. It's as if TLG really wants these to be Toy Story figs and nothing but Toy Story figs. Bad move IMO, but I'm too excited for these to be mad at them.
