  1. I must say, I actually quite liked this episode. It had a good atmosphere and some nice things going on in it. Oh, and I totally called the connection of this episode with Godzilla! Agreed. However, like others, I do not agree with that at all. Bombad was lame while Ambush and Trespass are some of this show's better episodes in my opinion. Would you really prefer Senate Spy or Senate Murder over Ambush and Trespass?! Sorry to hear you didn't like it. Interesting theory, but have you considered the possibility that all the fuel mining has destroyed all the trees that made the dugs what they are today? And yes, those prods were kinda useless, but I think those Frisbee Launchers of Doom were pretty cool. Well, it may seem "rediculous" now that Mace would want to save a giant, impenetrable, civilization destroying monster when he didn't even want to let a wrinkly old man who is begging for his life live in Episode III, but I'm sure that the events of the next episode will make him regret his decision and lead to him rather wanting to kill Palpatine than let him live like Zillo. Makes perfect sense to me, and I really liked how Mace stayed with what he believed in, no matter what everyone else said. Yes, that was great! My theory is that they are slowly preparing for the switch to Phase 2, creating one model at a time. I bet they will make the switch by next season. Yeah, I agree with all of that. But I don't think the battle in the beginning should have been longer since the whole point of it was it to be ended quickly by the bomb. Speaking of the bomb, I think it was a pretty good idea, sort of like the Republic's response to Lok Durd's Defoliator. The fact that it effected Anakin's artificial hand as well was a neat detail. Actually, I remember reading an article where Dave Filoni said that they are working on episodes like that. They even said there was going to be a "Day in the life of a Battle Droid" episode (which sounds stupid actually IMO). Hopefully we'll see some good Sep episodes in the next season.
  2. New box art pic of the Deep Sea Striker: Yay for underwater STAP!
  3. Wow! Thank you so much, just2good! This made my day! It's great to see that all the figs in the Trash Compactor set have new prints! I love how the about-to-be-incinerated Hamm has his signature sceptically lowered eyebrow. Dirty Woody and the aliens are cool too, even though these aliens will stand out in a group with the other aliens. I could be wrong, but it looks to me like Hamm's cork is a 2x2 round brown plate, which is pretty neat. The only thing that is a disappointment is that his bowler is attached to his head via a stick, so it will not be possible to put it onto a minifig. I guess you can always shorten the stick or drill a hole into the minifig's head, but that wouldn't be very purist. Oh well. These sets are still awesome and I can't wait for them to come out!
  4. I doubt it. That there is just a wish list, and I'm sure it'll stay that way. The games listed are practically already produced, so it would be hard adding that 3D feature now, and I don't think that technology is developed enough yet anyway.
  5. "Unleash"? Oh boy, this sounds promising! And don't worry, I'm the Master of Patience.
  6. Oh, you're right, you didn't exactly promise it, just saying you were considering it. My bad. There has already been a contest like this on CABG, but how about a "Create your own bounty hunter and build a ship for him/her" contest? Perhaps the hunters could be based on our sigfigs? As you can see, I'm really trying to get a Starfighter contest going.
  7. I'm not a big fan of the comic at the beginning with all its cussing, but the MOC itself is great in my opinion! I love all the details on the floor and the creative plant work. Harley's new hammer is interesting too. Overall a very nice scene. Looking forward to more great Batman MOCs like this from you!
  8. Well, I guess it's too late for an easter contest now, but there's still the Ahsoka contest which KimT promised us! The latest frontpage post gave me another idea: How about a midi-scale contest? Build any iconic SW vehicle (except the MF) in midi-scale. Not very creative, but might still be an interesting challenge. We could have a theme bender contest that restricts itself to SW sets, but I guess that would be lame. In summer, we could have a "What I did on my summer vacation" contest where we create scenes with SW characters participating in summer activities, be it playing volleyball at the beach, fishing on a lake, or visiting Disneyland. Could you imagine Vader with a Mickey Mouse hat?
  9. Aw man, I noticed this thread too late! There were a few pieces among those that I still wanted to get. Oh well, that's what I get for waiting so long, I guess. But the newly added pieces are great IMO, highlights being the SW control panels, 7-blade propeller, light green windows, and the golden gates! I wont make the same mistake twice and will order these as soon as they're available, which is hopefully soon (assuming the prices are decent, of course)!
  10. I think you answered your own question: Because they were planning to kill him off (but decided against it for some stupid reason) and Kolar still needs to appear in ROTS. Uhm, yeah, I'm pretty sure that just because they are making references to the movies and styling some episodes in a particular movie genre doesn't mean they're running out of ideas. That's just their way of making this show (as lame as it may be). Oh, and I definitely agree with you on Grievous, Jammiedodger!
  11. Three TS3 sets are now available for preorder at Amazon US! Just click the images below to get to the individual pages: Unfortunately no larger resolution pics. On the bright side, the release date seems to be May 1, so I expect them to pop up in TRU about a week before that, which is in two weeks! That sentence doesn't even make sense! And I agree with the Penguin, Galidor and Ben 10 are way worse than this! ... but at least the model has studs and is mostly made out of bricks, just like any other Lego set. Yes, but it usually lists all the figs, especially when there are only a few figs like in this set. Oh well, who cares about the box anyway; it's the inside that counts.
  12. Okay, first of all, if you're looking for realism in a toy commercial, you're out of luck. It's meant to sell a product, and kids don't give a megablock about realism as long as it looks cool. Second, what's wrong about them being American? And how can you tell that they are anyway? They are all race-neutral minifigs, and they don't talk (except for the occasion "Hey!" which is an exclamation that is used in a lot of countries). The commercials are being made in America, I think, so it's to be expected that the setting of the commercials is going to resemble America, don't you think?
  13. I refuse to let this great community build die, dammit! Well, now that I have your attention, let me give you guys a progress update on my Sky Fortress entry. I have completed the Rebel Attack Flyer: I tried to use as few parts as possible and still make it look nice and have playability. When you push it forward or backward, the wings flap and the propeller spins! Here you can see how it works: A closer look at the minifigs, the rebel pilot and captain: I have also built the throne tower of the fortress, complete with cliche play features! The first two floors are comprised of a prison cell and a small engine room. When you pull a Technic pin on the side of the tower, you can send unwanted guests plummeting through a trap door into the prison! You can play inside and help the rebel escape by taking off the back wall! At the top, there is the throne room where the queen can oversee everything that's going on in and around the fortress. She is the only one who can get up here since there is no ladder or anything. Also, she's probably the only one who will find that throne comfortable. The top part sits firmly in place, but it can be taken off easily... ... in order to turn the throne into a getaway flyer! Again, I tried to be simplistic while cramming as much common play features in it as I could. I think the Fire Nation flags work perfectly as emblems of the steam empire! If it makes you happy, Tereglith, you can pretend that the wings are normally used as sails on the fortress. I have also been trying to come up with a good design for the royal guards. I wanted them to be the mechanical minions the first post was talking about, so I made them look more like machines than men. Here are the three best designs I came up with: Hi-res pics in this Brickshelf folder. Please let me know which one you prefer and if there's anything I should change about the flyer or tower. Steam Empire ON!
  14. Haha, true. And yes, that would be the last straw! Yeah, I guess you could say "another" since we already had a two-part story about Artoo getting captured by Grievous, but at least those episodes were more about the people trying to find him (and, on the side, destroy an enemy station as a bonus) rather than R2 himself. This episode on the other hand really does sound like a "R2's Big Adventure" type of thing. You mean have the episode be more about Mace & Ani fighting their way out of a trap rather than Artoo going for help Lessie-style while the two Jedi sit around twisting thumbs? Yes, that would be much more what I would have in mind as well, but then again, this is not the first time I have disagreed with Filoni's approach to this show. (CoughGrievousCough)
  15. Congrats on posting a low-quality version of the same video that was post only a couple of posts ago. But yes, this preview looks good, maybe even better than the last season finale! It's just too bad that we know that none of the characters can die, so we know that it's just going to end in a draw. As it has been mentioned, the only one who could die is Ahsoka, but these episodes aren't about her, so I highly doubt she'll get killed. So yeah, that scene with Aurra Sing saying "do it" will be pretty pointless and might even make Boba look weak. Oh well, I'll try to stay optimistic about these episodes. Those "Zillo" episodes sound like like a SW adaption of the Godzilla movie, hence the name "Zillo". And as much as I like Artoo, an entire episode centered on him seems pretty lame. The mere fact that two powerful Jedi such as Ani and Mace have to rely on an astromech droid to help them out of a trap is completely stupid IMO. Overall, all I can say is: "I have a bad feeling about this"...
  16. What? You hadn't seen any real SW movies before this, Pi?! That really surprises me, considering you have a SW tag, a couple of SW reviews, and a Shadow trooper as your avatar! Well, I guess it's good that you are finally learning what you have been supporting all this time.
  17. Thanks for the stitching, just2good! Well, they already made a yellow one, so this was to be expected. Seriously, though, is that a mouth or a nose or what? The movie Chunk, perhaps, but the minifig, most likely not. Why go into micro-mechanics for something you can simply do with your finger? (That's what she said) Yeah, I hope for that too. Me too, considering how final this box seems to be. I haven't seen them in the one here in California, but I can check again for you next time I go there if you want. But even if they are, they are almost guaranteed to be overpriced. Oh, and sorry for that April Fools thing; I just couldn't help myself.
  18. Oh wow, this could be good! I think the RC SW parodies were already going into this direction with sketches like the one about Ponda Baba, and we all know how those turned out! Admittedly, the line about it being intended to "appeal to all ages" and directed/produced by people who worked on kiddie shows does make me a bit uncomfortable, but I have faith in Seth and Matthew, so I'll be looking forward to this! I wonder if it will still be stop motion though, considering it will be Lucas Animation who will be doing it.
  19. Hello there. I just wanted to talk about a cartoon I recently discovered. The series I'm talking about is "The Spectacular Spider-Man". I have tried watching previous Spider Man cartoons, but I could never really get into them for various reasons. This one however is a really good show! Very mature, with some very good animation! It has a good balance of action, humor, and drama. So far I have watched the first Season and each episode leaves me wanting more (which is a sign of a good TV show), even though I sometimes already know how a story is gonna end due to having seen the movies. The first season finale was the Venom story arc from the third movie, but it's a hundred times better than the movie (which as you probably know sucked unfortunately). I will start the second season soon. If you like Spider-Man (or superhero cartoons in general), I can highly recommend it to you! It is still undecided whether there will be a third season (I hope there will be news about that at Comic-Con). I read that it depends on the sales of the DVDs, so please go out and buy them if you are interested in order to support the continuation of this excellent series! If you choose not to, however, you can find all the episodes on YouTube currently. Note, though, that the series is a little different from the movies. For example, Peter can't make his own webs and relies on wrist-mounted gadgets to do it for him. Also, Norman Osborn is . The series is very similar in tone to that of the movies though, and some aspects of it are almost identical, such as Spidey's origin story, so if you enjoyed the first two films, you will love this series! To me, it's one of my favorite superhero cartoons ever, along with BTAS, Batman Beyond, and Teen Titans! @ def: I'm glad to see that you enjoyed it as well!
  20. Yeah, I probably did. Oh well. But yes, the "one-shots" were pretty good. Anyway, I watched a couple of movies again: How to Train Your Dragon in IMAX 3D - Yes, it was so good I had to watch it again, this time in 3D. The 3D is pretty good in this film, similar in quality to that of Avatar. It gives a lot of the scenes some nice depth. If you enjoy watching movies in 3D, I can recommend seeing it this way. It's not necessary though; as I have said earlier, you can perfectly enjoy this great movie in 2D as well! TRON - This was my first time seeing this, and aside from the extremely basic CGI, I think it's a great movie that still holds up today. The lameness of the CGI isn't so bad either since it represents the time period nicely. Can't wait for the sequel this December! I especially loved the Bit. "YES." Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow - Man, what a great little movie! I still don't get tired of it! It just has this great atmosphere of those old WWII pilot hero adventure stories! Totally underrated! It may not be the greatest movie ever, but I can absolutely recommend it! The Italian Job - Very good heist movie! Very cool and entertaining. I especially loved Seth Green's parts!
  21. Thanks. I'm not sure what I want to build yet though. If you have any suggestions, let me know. Perhaps a certain Commander Flash? Embo's race is Kyuzo, and yes, he was the first we have seen of this species. Meh, I don't think it has changed that much. It's still not as mature as it could be. But yes, it's starting to move into the right direction. Amen! If I wouldn't love the time period of the Clone Wars so much, I would probably stop watching it too. Well, while I agree that the fight between Anakin and Hondo was way too long and lame, I think the Duchess thing is a little different. The Mando assassin was a much more dangerous enemy and needed to be treated appropriately. Moreover, the duchess is Obi's love interest, so his motivation was much higher. If Hondo would have been trying to assassinate Padme, I'm sure the fight would have been much different. By the way, Stash2Sixx & DarthSion, I think you're in the wrong thread. EDIT: I'd also like to say that it's absolutely incomprehensible to me how somebody who worked on a marvelous show such as Avatar: The Last Airbender can be the director of such a mediocre series as this.

    MOC: Appa

Thanks for the kind comments, guys. I'm glad you like it. Neither of them? Well, I guess you can't like everything. Really? I thought it's almost too long as it is. Considering how my Appa handled those two soldiers, I'm not too worried. Thanks, it was one of the most complicated parts of this MOC. You mean Ba Sing Se? Hm, interesting idea. Maybe I'll make something like that. That would have been great! But as I have proven, a brick-built one would have been just as good. Either way, I'm very surprised we never saw an official Appa. That just might have saved the Avatar theme. Oh well. Hehe, thanks. That's exactly what I was going for. I don't think grey would fit. The only color that would be better than dark grey in my opinion would be dark tan, but unfortunately I don't have the necessary parts in that color. Maybe if I can still get my hands on a Venice Canal Chase I can try to make a version of it in dark tan. Thank you very much Stanley. I'm honored that you're using mine as a reference. It can get a little tricky, though, especially around the arrow. I can try to post a pic of the inner construction if you want. Thanks. Perhaps I will post a version of him without the saddle sometime, but I don't think that I can do it so that it is attachable. As for the legs, since he barely ever moves them in the show, I didn't bother making them posable. But maybe I can find an easy way to fix that. Sorry, but I don't know what you're talking about. Could you name a set where it is used? Not sure what you mean by "brickyness", but thanks. As for more Avatar MOCs, don't worry, they are coming. I will also gladly accept any requests, so if there's anything particular you'd like to see moced, let me know!
  23. Did anyone notice that R2 has the new dome print? Probably just a mistake, but I just thought I'd point it out.
  24. Mind posting a pic, or even making a review with comparison pics? It's the one PoP set we don't have a review of yet. Even thought the quality issue is sad, isn't it kinda cool that you can get the same minifig parts with color variations? Could be useful for MOCs.
  25. "Toysaurus"? Never heard of that kind of dino before. Anyway, Borders has yet another 30% off of any one item coupon. Valid until the 5th.
