Let's just say that Lego Halo was highly unlikely to begin with, for various reasons. I meant Mickey hats. My bad. But yeah, I would love to get some proper Mickey Mouse & Co. minifigs too! Kinda like in the style of Spongebob and Toy Story! But I guess that's unlike since the target group for system sets would probably not be all that interested in Mickey Mouse sets.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
Oky replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in Culture & Multimedia
While waiting in line to buy my discounted Echo Base set at Target today, I saw a game magazine which had an article on this game with some screenshots. I didn't have time to read it and didn't want to buy it, but from what I could tell from the pics there is a level on Toydaria (from "Ambush"), a level on Ryloth (from "Innocents of Ryloth"), a level on a Venator (maybe from "Cloak of Darkness"?). -
World Racers Summer 2010

They are also available in the Lego Store in Downtown Disney, California! We should have a contest to design our own team! -
Hello there! Just letting y'all know that all three sets are available at the Lego Store in Downtown Disney, Anaheim! I can imagine! Good call, I'll probably do that too if I get him. By the way, which minifigs are you guys planning to use the ray gun of the collectable Spaceman fig for? Its cartooniness makes me think it would be a good weapon for Squidman/tron.

Ah, you're right, I didn't see the one in the spider box due to the blurriness. But where'd Ms. Norris go?
-
Ah, yes, the new comforter is much better. Oky approves. ... BUT now I kinda miss the fence piece you used at the end of the bed. That was kinda neat. But you don't have to change it again just to please me. It's just a table scrap after all. Oh, and thanks for linking to my review btw. I'm honored.

New figs you would like to see in the Kingdoms Line
Oky replied to Emperor Claudius Rome's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Seeing how we got a revamp of the classic Blue Wizzard, how about a revamp of the ghost too? I know there are many here who oppose that kind of fantasy stuff, but I'd still like to see TLG tackle it. -
Speaking of pricey, the impulses were $3.99 USD. Impulse sets are getting more and more expensive. But it's worth it for the great exclusive figs alone, not to mention the useful accessories! I will go back today to get Prison Carriage Rescue if they still have it, and to check the price of the Battle Packs for you guys. UPDATE: Just returned from the store and they didn't have the Battle Packs anymore, so I couldn't check. They still had all the other sets though. I decided to wait for a sale to get the Prison Carriage since I couldn't bring myself to buy 50 pieces for $10.

Well, I guess it had to be done. Nice shot, although the comforter looks weird all square like that in contrast with the smooth pillow.

1 point - Dunjohn's Cameltraz (Very good and funny entry! It looks very PoPish while still being instantly recognizable!) 1 point - pedro's Karaban ~ The Sand-cloud City (brilliant adaption of the name, style, AND play features of the Cloud City set!) 1 point - Fugazi's Persian Grocer (You may have stolen my idea but you executed it wonderfully! Good job! )
-
1 point - Jammiedodger714's Battle Chariot Pursuit (Nice and simple, yet effective, with some good figs. Would have preferred this over Desert Attack.) 1 point - Lisgr's The Ostrich Race Game (What a brilliant and creative entry! Would buy it in a heartbeat!) 1 point - brickzone's Waterfront Abduction (Great entry! Really looks like it could be a set, and a good one at that! The design, play features, and modularity are excellent!)

Well, since you pay $5 extra, that makes each key chain $1.25, so yeah, they're pretty cheap. Thanks for that pic of the macrofigs by the way, Rick! They look great! Now our minifigs can have Harry Potter action figures! I found the following pic on Brickset, and I wonder who those colorful macrofigs are, and if they are a replacement for the colorful frogs we saw in earlier pics (I sure hope not!):

The Penguin's Batman Minifigures. )
Oky replied to The Penguin's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Oh, somehow I missed page 8, excuse me. But still, the hat would suit him nicely! By the way, how about replacing Nightwing's glow sticks with the shorter ones from the Spaceman minifig? They would be proportionally better, me thinks. -

You're welcome. As for ideas for new figs, I think you can draw a lot more of inspiration from The Brave and the Bold. For example, once the mime minifig is released, you can use its hat to make Crazy Quilt from the episode "The Color of Revenge!" (which was great by the way). Or how about the Spectre? Also, I'm surprised no one has used the Nightwing hair on robin yet. It would be a perfect interpretation of the Teen Titans Robin. Care to volunteer? And speaking of the Titans, could you make figs of the rest of them too? I'd love to see a Cyborg or Raven! -
In case you can't tell by the location under my avatar, I was talking about the one in Anaheim here in California, so no reason to fee bad (though it is possible that the Orlando store has them by now too). And yes, I imagine it pretty difficult cherry-picking the bags, even at my store. The box was right next to the cashier.

Anyone think they're gonna sell these keychains separately from S@H, not only through TRU with the game?
-
From FBTB: I kinda like the keychains. It's good they're printed on tiles like that, so they can be used for MOCing. The only problem is that "Lego Harry Potter" under each one of them, but maybe that can be covered up.

The Penguin's Batman Minifigures. )
Oky replied to The Penguin's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Thanks for the pic, The Penguin, even though I was thinking of a more... intimate scenario, but that's OK. Not liking that emo Robin much... The hair just looks, well, emo on him. But it just might work on Nightwing... Which mold is the bowler based around? It looks a bit big, kinda like those hats old ladies wear. Certainly still better than the hatless official version though! Overall, to be honest, I think you could have done better on this part, but maybe it's just me. -
Good news everyone! Just found Series 1 in the Lego Store in Downtown Disney, along with all the Kingdoms stuff. Check your local store, just in case they started early too! OWK out!
-
Hello there, Castle fans! Just thought I'd let you know that I found all the kingdoms sets at the Lego Store in Downtown Disney here! That includes impulses, Battle Packs, and keychains (Jester and Princess). So you might want to check your local store! I got the two impulses and they're pretty neat. Might even do a review on them. OWK out!

Doh! It seems my guess was only off by one or two scenes! Oh well. Great work again, ACPin! Loving the detail on those buildings and the overall smoothness of it! It's one of those dioramas where I feel a great urge to bust out some minifigs and recreate my favorite scenes from the movies and Battlefront II in it. However, I do have to agree with the others that the Bongo (which wasn't a very good set to begin with) looks quite ugly in this beautiful scenery. It was honorable of you to leave it unmodified, but it just doesn't work visually. Now make another MOC! Another! ANOTHER!
-
Very nice Siegfried! Interesting design. The whole thing looks very heavy, so the rotors are definitely justified. My only question is: How the heck does it reach those speeds of 250km/h? I don't see any means of propelling the craft forward. Pff! You wish!

Sorry to hear that, Batbrick. I hope you find something to fill the void. But in the end, you have to realize that Marvel & DC are just companies too who want to make money, and the safest way for them to do so is to provide the readers with the same stuff they've been putting out for decades. If they were to fundamentally change anything about their characters, such as have a villain turn good all of a sudden, they could loose a whole fan base. But yeah, all those undone deaths etc. are pretty ridiculous. So... Does that mean that you'll have more time to honor us with more of your excellent MOCs, or maybe even that new interactive story you've been talking about? Do you mean these? They didn't stop making them, they simply switched to a different format and take their sweet time uploading new ones. Or do you mean the Lego Club magazine ones? I think they still make those too, but I'm not sure.

Hehe. Very nice. Still not quite true to the movie version, but heaps better than that stupid bionicle shooter! I'm working on a movie-accurate version myself...

Review: World Racers 8897 Jagged Jaws Reef
Oky replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the review. This is the only set that remotely interests me in this line. It seems to be a good parts pack. I can understand that TLC wouldn't want to print so many pieces, but the stickers are annoying. I mean, even the flag piece? Come on! Well, at least now we have the choice to put it on a 2x2 tile and use it as a checker board. The fish cannon is funny indeed, but that harpoon shooter seems pretty useless without any string. Hahaha! Nice one!
