  1. Thanks for the pics! The pyramid looks pretty good to me. I don't get all the complaints about the interior, I don't think there's a lot more they could have put in there. The old pyramid/temple didn't have a lot of stuff on the inside either. Personally, I'm not very interested in that set, but you just gotta love these two figs, especially the pharaoh's second face! Hopefully we'll get them as keychains or magnets or something! By the way, is the headdress inside the pyramid an extra or the same one the pharaoh wears? Also, are the mummies the only ones with double-sided heads?
  2. Great! Now we can finally start some real discussion (instead of just trying to convince the non-believers that this theme is real). I'm guessing that half of the sets will be classic PotC and the other half will be PotC 4. Hopefully most of them will be somewhat affordable. Can't wait to see the Davy Jones fig! The videogame should be fun too, seeing how much the Lego games have improved!
  3. Huh. That's not how I imagined the ride to be at all. I thought it was gonna be a regular tower drop ride. Not bad, though; I'd ride it. The aesthetics are nice too. What happens when they reach the bottom?
  4. Alright, guys, calm down. Cut JD some slack, he's been real busy with school lately, and he doesn't appreciate comments such as the one above. He'll post his next entry as soon as he has time. Thanks to all of you who switched to my side though!
  5. I'm impressed that this Series seems to have back printing on the figs. The lack thereof has bugged me a lot in the past two series, so this is a huge improvement to me! Can't wait until they become widely available!
  6. Darn, I was afraid the wings would be one piece. Oh well, maybe I can still incorporate them in MOCs somehow...
  7. Yeah, Ahsoka is becoming more and more like Starkiller... Not sure it's a good thing... though I do like the new look. New webcomic's up by the way.
  8. What a nice idea for a contest! I'll definitely try to enter. The rule on the size of the entry is a bit vague though. What's the maximum limit of pieces/minifigs we can use? Also, how is the winner determined? Something tells me I know what the prizes are.
  9. You really love the episode "Clone Cadets", don't you? Great entry, and excellent recreation of that scene! As always, it's hard to find any fault in your work. Perhaps it would have been better if you wouldn't have mixed yellow and fleshie figs, but I personally don't mind that really. Good luck (not that you need any ).
  10. Hehe, I certainly would make an A+ review of Diagon Alley if someone would send it to me! Thanks for the nice review again. Have you copyrighted "Ginnyfig" yet? I recently got this set too and I'm loving it! The figs are great and it's an incredible parts pack! The only thing that bothers me is that Ron, one of the three main characters, isn't included in his own home. That along with the fact that it is underscaled keep the set from being outstanding, so I had to vote for Above Average. It would have also been nice if Molly and Arthur had double sided heads, Molly an angry one and Arthur a scared one, so that you could recreate one of their classic argument scenes. But since this set is full of marvelous, exclusive figs as it is, I can't complain.

    Lego and cats

I'm guessing you live in an apartment and your cats don't get out much? I have two cats as well, but we live in a big house and they do most of their playing outside, so I don't have a problem with them. Mine are older and much lazier than yours too.
  12. I kinda agree with CB. While there's nothing wrong with the new mummies, the Studios one was just a bit better as it looked weathered and wrinkled like thousand year old mummy should, and while the half-covered second face of the new ones is interesting, it's not as useful as the sleeping one of the Studios mummy. I also agree that it's too bad that the professor is only in the most expensive set. I think he should have been in the Scarab set instead of Jake. Hopefully there will be a cheaper way to get him in the future. The Sphinx is turning me off the more I look at it. The head looks great but the rest of it just looks weird. Can't wait to get Duel in the Air though!

    Star Wars

Hilarious: Chad Vader doing movie impressions! Also funny: Curry's Megastore commercial starring our favorite droid duo!
  14. Why is this in Culture & Multimedia? It's Lego related after all. Anyway, this is pretty neat, but since I already have that fig, I'm not interested.
  15. Like SpiderSpaceman said, look at the piece that's behind/above the red round 2x2 tile in front of this sub; it's like a double hinge.
  16. Cool, thanks for those pics. Threepio looks weird only partly chromed, but Jango Boba looks pretty good with that helmet if you ignore the stud. Is it just me, though, or does the helmet sit kinda loosely on his head? One thing that chrome Threepio's head could be useful for is to attach one of these on top of it and have Artoo drag it behind him.
  17. Great! Now we just need an adjudicator...
  18. Would any non-magus like to duel me?
  19. I too still watch Family Guy. It's painfully stupid and I don't like what they have turned Stewie into, but it still has its moments. South Park is as good as ever, so I still follow that show too. Does anyone else watch Sym-Bionic Titan? I was very excited to finally see another show from Genndy Tartakovsky, especially one centered around a giant mech, but I'm a little disappointed since it somehow lacks the epicness of Samurai Jack and Clone Wars. It's still a good show though. Another show that I kinda like is Robotomy. It's from the creators of Superjail and has the same style, but it doesn't have gore (since everyone is a robot) and the animation isn't quite as crazy as that of Superjail.
  20. Could you (or someone else) link to his photostream so that we can look at the hi-res version of this pic?
  21. Wouldn't that be all of them? The funniest part about Mama The Hutt is that all "Yo Mama" insults relating to her are true. What?! I think it's exactly the other way around! But maybe it's just because everyone was cooler in the old Clone Wars. It's not a reference to that specific scene, but Chicago musical shows in general. About the length of the fight scene, I think it's actually good that it was so short. It would be unrealistic for a mere bounty hunter like Bane to be able to hold his own against two Jedi masters for a long time.
  22. I think the villain is slightly better since his visor is rare, his face is less generic, and even though the Spaceman's leg printing was neat, I'd take a shiny silver peg-leg over printing any day! Besides, villains are always cooler.
  23. I was wondering when such a poll would pop up. My favorite from Series 3 would have to be the Space Villain, simply because I love cyborgs, although the Elf and Alien are pretty cool as well. My favorite Series is the second one. The Series 1 was mostly comprised of revamps of figs we had already seen before. Series 2 offered much more novelties and useful parts. Series 3 has too many Sports figs for my taste, and aside from those, the only real novelties in that series are the Elf, Gorilla, Rapper, and maybe Hula Girl. There are still a lot of figs that could be done, so I certainly wouldn't mind them to continue this line! I'd be very interested to hear from those people who voted no on the third question why they don't want any more of these awesome figs to be made.
  24. I know what you're saying, but it was kinda hinted at by what the Lion-Turtle told Aang. And you're probably right about the With Great Power Comes Great Insanity/Responsibility thing. Most heroes don't take advantage of their powers when not completely necessary in order to be good role models, but A:TLA proved that it works just fine for them not to go by that code.
