At first I didn't get it... then I read it out loud... That's one of my favorite groaners so far. I couldn't think of anything good to do with Q5, but here's a funny involving other droids:

Yay, I won! Thanks, CopMike! However, I already own two of the three figs I won, so would any of the Prize D winners be interested in trading?

[LDD MOCs] Brickdoctor's 2011 Star Wars Advent Calendar
Oky replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Oh, good! I was afraid you got discouraged from your last model and gave up. This is very good again. I like how you did the canopy. As usual, the only part of the Snowspeeder that could possibly use improvement is the nose area, but since not even TLC can get it right in minifig scale after several rehashes, it's totally fine the way it is. -
Thanks, Whitefang! I'm really sorry for being so late, and I deserve to be punished. Please don't throw any clay at me!

The Joker has moved into the funhouse of an old abandoned amusement park on the outskirts of Gotham and is using it as a hideout. He has captured Robin the Boy Wonder and is beating him to death with a crowbar, but Batman is on his way to save him! However, the Joker's funhouse is not so fun for the Dark Knight for it has been filled with booby traps, so it's not going to be easy! Where there used to be tickling blasts of air coming out of the ground, there are now flame throwers! And the obstacles that are being thrown in your way are now sharp weapons! Joker's Funhouse - Level 1 by okayaraman, on Flickr The Joker holds Robin captive in his lab on the top floor. He laughs maniacally as he keeps beating the poor boy. In the back, you can see his workstation where he manufactures his Joker Venom. Apparently he's currently experimenting on fish. Joker's Funhouse - Level 3 by okayaraman, on Flickr Meanwhile, Harley Quin is supposed to watch the monitors for intruders, but she is too busy feeding her pet hyenas. Joker's Funhouse - Level 4 by okayaraman, on Flickr Can Batman get to Robin in time? Tune in next time to find out! Same Bat-time, same Bat-channel! More images can be found in my photostream. I tried to make this look as crazy and fun as possible. I hope you like it. To the Okymobile!

It's just that Ninjago is way too similar to Power Rangers, TMNT, and such shows. Sure, the characters are slightly different, but the concept is the exact same, that of a team of color-coded heroes with powers based on elements and gimmicky vehicles pitted against supernatural villains. Even the colors are the same as in Power Rangers! The only real difference is the Lego universe in which Ninjago is set, but they're not emphasizing it enough to make a difference. Yeah, that Rainbow Dash sure is awesome, and so is this Fluttershy and these! But minifig scale? That's gonna be tough. It's nearly impossible to brick-build them at that scale, so the only other option would be to customize Lego horses to look like the characters. Speaking of minifigs and ponies, here's my sigfig as a pony.

And Day 12:
-
I guess so... It's just that a lot of people on there are just a bit too obsessed with this show. And don't get me started on all the immature posts such as the "First" comments. I don't mind a sad fic once in a while; the sadness makes the characters even more adorable, if that's even possible.
-
Eenope. Check a few posts above your "first" post. I agree on what you said about Ninjago, but the fact that it detracts from the Lego aspect of the show and tries to be more like other shows in its genre makes it feel very cliche to me. Eeyup, same here. I guess we owe Emperor Claudius Rome a lot for drawing us into the herd. I still don't get why that thread was closed. If we can have a thread for every other major fandom, why not this?! I too frequent Euestria Daily now, although I try to keep my visits to a minimum as I can't take all the pony madness on there sometimes. Plus I HATE shipping.
-
You already said that. And it's quite obvious that there are bronies here, looking at the pony avatars some members have. Yeah, I also saw those two episodes of Ninjago. It's a decent show, but a bit childish and cheesy obviously. If it weren't Lego, I probably wouldn't watch it.
-
I gotta admit, those episodes were pretty good, but still, due to their inherent weirdness it was somewhat hard to fully enjoy them. Aquaman was useful for once, yes, but still somewhat annoying, and therefore not cool. Aquaman will never be cool. (Although Aqua lad from YJ is a different story). As I said, I respect the creators' attempt to expose less well known DC characters to the masses, but why they would want to do that with lame characters such as Mazing Man (that's without an "A" apparently) is still a mystery to me. And doing so in the form of a silly Hanna-Barbara style short wasn't the best way to approach it in my opinion. And I wouldn't call Gorilla Grodd an unknown character. He appeared in a few shows before, sometimes even as the main antagonist. And yes, let's hope that YJ and GL will continue. The premiere episodes of GL were pretty good, although I'm still not sold on the cheap-looking CGI.
-
A sequel centered around the Justice League (with players taking the roles of lesser known DC heroes, not the founding members) or one about the Avengers would be great! Then again, such a sequel would be just as plagued with advantages for comic fans, maybe even more so than in this game.

Hm, I agree, the arms and the neck of the B1 are too short. Also, I think you might have gone overboard with the SNOT techniques and the blockiness. It looks like he swallowed a brick. Otherwise not bad though; it's a good start, it just needs to be refined. -
Nice comeback, Jedd. And yes, don't be jealous. It looks like you have a fair amount of talent and good figs too. I don't even have the Home One, so I don't have Lando, Mothma, or Madine. Thank god they released Ackbar as a keychain. Anyway, here's Day 11:
-
As mentioned on FBTB, Target is having a 50% off clearance on a few Lego sets, and has sales on some others. There are some good deals to be had, but a lot of it is already sold out, so act quick!
-
I'm not just talking about the length. I can understand why you made it shorter. In the first image you posted, the rollcage is white and more triangular than curved and it has only one bar going from the front to the back. But again, I think I prefer it the way it is, so no worries. As for the cartoon, if you still want to see it, you can watch it on Mastertoons.
-
Thanks, guys! No thanks. I already proved in Gotham City Mafia that I'm terrible with math.
-
Another great MOC from you, HJR! The color scheme works very well, and it looks just as smooth and sleek as the original! One thing I noticed, though, is that the rollcage is different from the one in the cartoon in both shape and color, and while I would usually prefer it to be more accurate to the source material, the dark blue just looks so good that I can't complain. Good job, and keep it up! That's a bit harsh, don't you think? At least it was better than the holiday special (but then again, anything would be better than that thing). I think the problem was that it was too cheesy, even for the time that it was produced in. It was just another ho-hum Saturday morning cartoon, which is not good enough for Star Wars.

Hey! No fair! We only overlooked ONE guard! Hooray! Victory! It's finally over and I managed to stay alive until the end somehow! This was a fun game to play, so thanks to ADHO and The Penguin for hosting it! Great job on the comics too; they fit really well for a game based on comic books, and the Iceberg Lounge set was very well done! Also, not only am I glad that The Penguin's excellent custom figures were finally used for something, it's almost like they were made for this! However, I gotta agree with the others that it was a bit unfair to those who are not familiar with the Bat mythos as the character's abilities were predictable to those who are. Also, being able to audition for your character was also advantageous to Batman fans as they could guess what kind of role the character they chose was gonna play. And the roleplaying aspect of the game, while being a fun concept and one of the biggest draws for me, was also not a good idea. It was hard to play a criminal and not look like scum which is why almost everyone abandoned it after a few days. Apology accepted. I didn't really take any offense, even though you were indeed quite blunt and your attitude made it kinda hard to enjoy the game. I understand your frustration, but I think you were taking this game a bit too seriously. There's nothing wrong with dedicating yourself to a game, but the game stops being a game when you start getting pissed off at people just because they aren't playing the way you want them to. Besides, no one asked you to take all that responsibility, but I'm glad you did as you lead us to such a nearly flawless victory, so thank you for that. I tried to be of more help, but my lack of time, knowledge, and experience were really hindering me from doing so. To respond to your individual points: - I was not sure if I could trust you for a while, and even when I was, I didn't know that I was supposed to coordinate with you. - I gotta admit, that was pretty darn stupid. I was trying to clear JediAnakin so that people wouldn't vote for him, but in hindsight, it was the worst way imaginable of doing so. - I can see how that was annoying, but I was merely trying to understand, and you weren't being very cooperative. - That was just me trying to take initiative with the little amount of mafia game knowledge I had. I knew my theory was far-fetched, but I just threw it out there to see what people would say. I figured it couldn't hurt as I never suspected you to take it so personally, but you did, and I'm sorry. Again, I was just trying to enjoy the game despite not completely understanding the basics, and I hope you can respect that. I am glad to see that you accept that you were being too harsh sometimes and urge you to remember that it is just a game in the future. Aside from that, it was an honor to have played alongside such a dedicated and experienced mafia game player such as yourself. And again, I apologize for my clueless, bumbling gameplay. If it makes you feel any better, I don't think I'll be playing any mafia games for a while. At least not until I understand them. They're too time consuming and complicated for me.

Gotta agree with the general consensus here: This is definitely the best one yet! The accuracy and detail is superb! Keep it up! -
Thanks! Yikes! Over 150 pages of funnies to catch up on... Watch out that you don't break your funny bone. So, today we got the Imperial Shuttle, but I couldn't think of anything to do with it, so here's a different funny featuring a picture of it as well as the Emperor himself. I wonder what 810000+ km of ribbon would cost...

Wow! What a fun looking set! I love it! Sure, it looks very colorful and childish, but in this case it fits since it's supposed to be a funhouse! And now we know why Robin has that scared face. Looks like we'll be getting a second Riddler head in this set. Can anyone tell if it has a different print than the one on the Riddler minifig? Yikes! Looks like Bats was too late in saving Robin!
-
Awesome! I'm really hoping we'll get a henchmen battle pack! As for Arkham, while it would seem like a logical choice, I think it would come with different guards, and we'd know about those by now.

Very good design, Doc! I love it, and I think the nose is fine. Let's just hope fallenangel wont come by to tear it shreds!
