Probably because the bulky robot look already doesn't really work for the male characters, so one can only imagine how terrible it would look on a female character. Not to mention that WW has a lot of skin showing, so a lot of the parts would have to be flesh colored, which would look even stranger. And then there's the issue of her long hair. I agree that Supes would be an interesting candidate for these ultrabuild figures, but I shudder to think how they would represent his cape, seeing what a horrible job they did on Bats and Joker.

What do you mean? Of course PM had a story! The rock monsters were creating earthquakes, so the miners were sent to investigate and nullify the threat, and they did so by collecting all the power crystalls which were giving the monsters a sort of sugar rush. Then they dug deeper into the core to fight and capture the magma monsters. Not as complex as Ninjago of course, but it's still a story. You can't really have an action theme without some kind of story to go along with it, so obviously this theme will have one too. Maybe the story is a combination of the story of Atlantis and the cartoon Danny Phantom where the monsters are trying to gather these glowing artifacts, which when gathered will allow them to open a portal from the Ghost/Monster/Twilight Zone to our world and cause mayhem, and the Monster Fighters are trying to prevent that.

Can't you just edit your pics into the first post? And what do you mean it closes the page? By the way, your pictures are all very tiny and either have a big flash or shadow covering up part of the image. Nothing says that you can't still do it.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion
Oky replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Yeah, the new site sucks. In fact, the whole online approach to Season 4 sucks. No more webcomics, no more Filoni commentary, no more trivia, no nothing. Only synopsis and some redundant character info. Which reminds me, I recieved a newsletter today advertising the new site, and it had a half-body picture of Maul as the header: Yup, definitely no ghost. I'm hoping that the rumor about him having the Grievous-like legs from the EU are true, because I quite liked that idea/design, not to mention that it would make a great minifig! By the way, here's a quote from the StarWars.com frontpage: Is it just me or does this sound more off-putting than inviting? -
Yes, but it's also a TV series with a story, and this is a major spoiler of what will undoubtedly happen in a future episode which some people might not want to know until they see it.

Yup, Skrytsson is just too awesome for anyone to compete with. Congrats to you and the other winners! You certainly deserve it! Too bad I didn't have much time to spend on my entries. I had a really cool entry for Category 1 but could never finish it. Not even my CAT 2 entry was as good as I wanted it to be, but oh well. Thanks to WhiteFang for the contest and the Penguin for his generous prizes! And I'm sorry I upset you by entering late. Superhero Month! Please be a Superhero Month! Or at least another contest! Either way, I'm sure it will be great!

What a year indeed! You are certainly one of EB's greatest assets! Thanks for all the joy you've given us with your amazing creations and by organizing the OT community builds! Keep up the good work!

[LDD MOCs] Brickdoctor's 2011 Star Wars Advent Calendar
Oky replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Once again, nicely done! It's indeed a shame, though, that there's no legal way of transitioning the bars with the flex tubes better. -
I had a feeling from the first wave that these brats are spoiled, but now I'm sure of it! I mean, they have their own speedboats, airplanes, and ranches! What's wrong with Advent Calendars? I think that if it's done right, this could be a good way to get a lot of the exclusive elements from this theme in one package, such as the hairpieces and milk carton. I think it should stay. Belville is its own theme with its own scale. This theme on the other hand may have differently styled figures, but otherwise it's 100% City compatible. Especially this new wave which seems to have even less girly colors.
-
Actually, I think making a dragon that is a fusion of the first four is much more creative than to release yet another dragon with the same design, just in another color again. Doesn't mean that the end result will look any better though.

Yeah, I know it's not the most original joke, but then again all Mini jokes have been done before... Oh, you know what I mean! Not to mention a squad of rebel bloggers to back you up. Roger that, Red Leader!
-
Nice work, Darth Yogi! The speederbike looks great, and the catapult look like it actually works! The base is nice too, although a bit on the colorful side.

Oh, Jedd, you're turning out to be the king of puns! And I too am jealous of your elephants. Day 20:

Yeah, thanks for posting those! I have to agree with just2good; the Disney princesses don't translate into the chubby Duplo format very well. If I wouldn't know better, I would have never recognized those figures as Aurora and Cinderella. Oh well. The sets look cute though, and I'm sure little girls will love them.

Yeah, that's actually a common abbreviation. For instance, one of Ben 10's many alter egos is named so, and there is a radio station in Germany that calls itself that. But yeah, it's that kind of corny name that fits perfectly into Ninjago. Zane NRG is blue? Why? I like the trans-clear spinner crown though. The uploader says there are still more pics of other sets to come, so it looks like this wave wont be so small after all. Let's see!

[LDD MOCs] Brickdoctor's 2011 Star Wars Advent Calendar
Oky replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Pretty good, Doc, but I still think you should use clips for hands like they do on the official ones because as it is, the arms look too short. And yes, I think we all are looking forward to three consecutive days of great midi ship creations from you! -
Hey! No spoilers! Why not? Summer waves tend to be small for Action themes. Case in point: Atlantis.
-
Yeah. He actually didn't seem to mind it much. I think he enjoyed the attention.
-
And here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mo6NkxWKjvY&feature=plcp&context=C3385ba1UDOEgsToPDskKPA9atLbRZaEBhQcr4jlqc Looks like the four dragons join into one, and Nya Samurai X gets her own giant samurai mech. That tank looks also pretty cool, even though it looks more like something the Skeletons would drive. It sucks, though, that the green ninja only comes in the largest set.

No, because there is no point in designing a new Dr. Frankenstein/Monster/Mummy/Vampire when they already made very good ones recently. As I said, I don't think they're preliminary because all the other figs use new molds and prints and therefore look pretty final, so it would be a strange coincidence if it were only the figs that are similar to the CMFs that are preliminary stand-ins, don't you think? Ah, thanks! I was wondering what kind of set 9465 would be. Let's hope it will have new zombies (including female ones) and not just the CMF one.
-
Thanks. I don't have that Obi Wan, although I was thinking about using the first yellow one, but I usually don't like mixing yellows with fleshies. Besides, this way the joke focuses on the SW franchise rather than Lego's continuity issues. That would be everyone's greatest frienemy George Lucas.

I gotta say, this theme turned out better than I had hoped! The vehicle designs and locations look great, and it feels like a mash-up of Time Twisters, Adventurers, and Studios! Nostalgia overload! It's especially great that the fighter minifigs seem to be Steampunk inspired! It's a bit disappointing that they are reusing the CMFs (I don't think they are stand-ins since the rest of the figs look pretty final) but I guess that was to be expected. For anyone who's interested, I have uploaded some enhanced versions of the pics to this folder. Can anybody tell what those glowy treasure things are supposed to be?
-
Yeah, let's hope he has them. By the way, in one of the Monster Fighter sets there are minifigs that look almost exactly like Man-Bat, so I'm expecting him in the next DC wave.

Yes, it's supposed to be KimT. I couldn't find my 327th helmets, and I forgot that Kim wears dark gray pants. Here's Day 19: A Star Wars Carol
