Cool! Thanks for this nice little review of this neat torch light! It's especially cool that the helmet and lightsaber are removable! I hadn't seen this before and am actually tempted to buy it now. Where did you get it and how much was it?

Yeah, I loved those stories. No, not to my knowledge. -
Can't we extend the deadline a bit? This week is Thanksgiving, so everyone in the US is going to be busy and not be able to work on their entries.

From Almaak to Zotax: all the planets in the LEGO galaxies...
Oky replied to TalonCard's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
You're welcome. Yes, they were in German. They didn't explain anything about their past. Dr. Cyber probably built all the time machines since he always explains to Timmy (and thereby the listener) how they work, so I guess you could say that Timmy was being trained in time travel. Again, they are very similar to Doc and Marty from Back to the Future. The first Adventurers sets also had these radio plays. -
You sure seem pleased with yourself. And you should be. This is one impressive entry. The standard for this contest seems to rise every day! I haven't played the game, but from what I can tell, your MOC seems to be pretty faithful. And your Batmobile came out really good! Good luck!

From Almaak to Zotax: all the planets in the LEGO galaxies...

Well, I guess we don't have to get that much into this. Hm... Now that you mention it, I do remember another part of the story where they briefly got stuck in a time/place with a giant robot which I believe was supposed to be the Spyrius Robo-Guardian, so perhaps you're right. They were three radio plays that were included in each of the largest sets on cassette in Germany and possibly other countries as well. They were about Dr. Cyber and his apprentice Timmy (who were very close friends like Doc and Marty) going on missions through time to solve particular problems. In the story that I remember the best, they picked up a distress signal from a different time and they zig-zag through the time zones in order to home in on the signal. It turns out that the signal came from a young cowboy who operates the General Store in the Wild West theme, and the Time Cruisers help him defend his store against Bandits. The second story was about their robot getting lost in time, and in the third, Timmy's pet monkey, and they travel through time to find them. In order to get from one time zone to another, they always had to cross a zone called the "Zero Time" which was just a void. I wish I would have kept those cassettes. Here's a picture of one of them I found on Brickshelf: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4285623 -
Indeed, I too am working on a multi-layered entry for this category, although I'm not sure if it can live up to yours. However, with only two weeks left and many busy days ahead of me, I am not sure if I can complete it by the deadline.

From Almaak to Zotax: all the planets in the LEGO galaxies...
Oky replied to TalonCard's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I find it hard to believe that every single Lego theme and subtheme exists on their own little planet, locked into a single era. I believe Ashlar is an exception and all the other Castle themes exist on Earth, explaining the existence of Fantasy elements in the Fantasy Era Castle world. By the way, are we only counting Planets? Because I think we should include the moon, and I think there was a prison asteroid in Space Police... -

Good point. However, I just rewatched Clutch Powers, and the Space Police Prison Planet is called Planet X4. Could it be that it is in the same system as the Alien Conquest homeworld? Good idea! But most races are simply referred to as "space aliens". Perhaps instead we should have a list of all the factions and their relations? Oh, we're most definitely the bad guys, robbing rock monsters of their primary source of nutrition, enforcing our laws on every other race in the galaxy, and powering our vehicles with Martian corpses. I'm pretty sure that Exo Force took place on Earth, presumably in Japan, sometime in the future, although that was never really established. Then again, the technology that all the mechs and robots are based on were supposedly found hidden in the jungle, so unless an advanced alien race or a time-traveler hid it there, it would suggest that this is a partly uncharted planet. Ninjago takes place on present-day Earth, in the mystical land called Ninjago. As for Aquazone, there was a Time Cruisers story in Europe where the Time Cruisers travel to the Aquazone. Their time machine is able to travel through both time and space, but I don't think it would take them to a far-off planet, so I'd assume that it's on Earth in the future. Edit: Also, Atlantis takes place on Earth, and there is a skeleton with an Auaraiders helmet in the Portal set, so Aquaraiders were definitely on Earth too. -
Very nice, although I was expecting something bigger when you said you were working on something special, but I guess a MOC based on an unusual episode such as "The Beach" can be considered special. You recreated the scene quite well. The only thing that I would change is the color of the base, which should be tan. As for the prison cell, it too is simple yet effective. Iroh's training and subsequent escape were some of my favorite Avatar moments as well. Unfortunately the lighting in your pictures is so bright that it looses the gloomy prison atmosphere. And yes, that Ozai does look rather sloppy. The beach minifigs are great though. Keep it up!

As soon as I saw this on FBTB, I knew it was for this contest and was wondering when you would post it here. Great work once again. It's well built and really has that film noir feel of the Burton films. It almost seems like a miniature set piece! The way you lit the sewer is particularly clever. Good job and good luck in the contest (although I doubt you need it ).

I just walked in and saw Riddler's and Calendar Man's cold dead bodies lying on the ground. Quite a shock to see that something like this can happen in the middle of the day. Based on the evidence presented, it does seem like it was Deadshot who was the one responsible, and considering his personality, he does seem to be the only one who would be capable of a Day kill. Therefore I'll have to... Vote: Deadshot (Rumble Strike) I am not completely convinced that Clayface was indeed an unwilling accomplice in this murder though. Sure, he's not the brightest villain around here, but using an action without knowing how it works? Seems fishy to me.

Huh. I never looked at it that way. What's wrong with that? Alfred is awesome no matter what, and Katana was pretty cool too in Brave and the Bold, and the shape of Batman's head fits the mask on the Batmobile. I gotta admit that the choice of more obscure villains is questionable at best (wasn't that partly what Brave and the Bold was already doing?) but I'll reserve my judgment until I see the show.

Fair enough, although I think it would have been announced if he returned as a neutral party. That is, if he wasn't neutral before. Again, let's see what the old fossil has to say for himself.

Well, it looks like Bane was as clumsy as he claimed to be. He should have been more careful. Now he has paid the price for his incompetence. At least my suspicion about Ra's turned out to be true, although it is too soon to tell if this is indeed a good thing or not. Yes, this also reminds me of a similar story I read about murders at a wizarding school where someone got killed, but returned as a neutral ghost. However, Ra's is neither a ghost/vampire nor neutral. He simply seems to have come back to life as he so often does. And I, too, would like to hear a reasonable explanation from Mr. Ghul. Until then, my vote would go to Mr. Wesker and his doll as well. It's good to start the day with a suspect in mind already.

Well, I just watched it, and it certainly wasn't bad, but still not great. I thought the Doom Patrol episode was much sadder. You know, I think Batmite was right, absolutely right. The only truly good episode to come out of this show was Chill of the Night, and while I respect the creators' attempt at a lighthearted Batman show, I definitely agree with Batmite that it kinda failed and say good riddance. The latest episodes especially were pretty awful (who the hell is Mazing Man and who cares? ) although that may have been intended as a warm-up for the finale. That said, I'm looking forward to Batgirl Beware the Batman. I'm getting more of a Jimmy Neutron feel from it, but comparing it to either of those shows would be a compliment. No, I believe it's just trying to be the loudest, most annoying, intellect-insulting show ever. Not that any of the other shows you listed are much better. How so?

Nice Guide to the Lego Galaxy! Looks like you got pretty much everything covered. The only other planet I can think of is the Space Police prison planet from the Clutch Powers movie, but I don't think it was named. -
Very nice entry. Good use of those new textured bricks (I don't really get all the hate for them either) and good parts usage on the crook as well. Good luck.
-
You really gotta start thinking outside the hoverbike, zenn. It's getting old. Just kidding. Besides the misleading title, this is pretty cool. The bike looks nice as usual, and I really like the Bat logos on the sides of the vig. My only problem with it is that the bike looks pretty much just like your other hoverbikes. It's missing some kind of bat element to it. Also, I'm afraid that you are violating the no-overhang rule. The villains aren't even on the base, and Mr. Freeze seems to overhang the base by at least twice the amount of allowed overhang. If you get rid of the villains, you should be fine. Good luck!
-
Yes, those two have been too quiet as well. And I was simply implying that your name is the reverse of our arch-nemesis, the Batman. If your allegiance is the opposite as well has yet to be proven... Exactly my thoughts, Mask. Our hosts seem to know more than we do and to reveal such information on rare occasions such as the Baby Doll incident, so I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

You are running this Lounge, are you not? You might have seen something, but as I suspected, it looks like you didn't. nICE try, Bane, but defending yourself with unprovable facts is not going to work.
-
I suppose it would make sense for you to have protective abilities, being a super-strong muscle-for-hire, but I don't think you can prove that you protected the Riddler... Unless Mr. Joker or Mr. Cobblepot can confirm it?
