  1. Its the DIsney-esque eyes and eyelashes that turns me off of them (as well as their brick-built nature, but thats another discussion).
  2. Seconded. Not to mention that some, such as the Roman soldier, would benefit greatly from dual molding on the legs and arms if re-released (though would it count as a re-release f the fiugre was different?).
  3. It could still be the BP, just with characters/creatures relevant for the new movie.
  4. My bet is a highwayman with a bandana or bowtie (they were gentleman bandits after all). No idea about the shoulders.
  5. I would hope so, but if the princess is anything to go by, he might not be. If so, I wonder if/how he would continue the card motif
  6. I was curious whether a circus strongman would show up for some time now. Nice to see the circus theme back. Meh on the butterfly suit girl. I wonder what accessory she would have, if any - maybe a flower?
  7. I would probably just open the sets. Too much of a hassle putting them online and selling them, it would just suck the joy out of it. Not the smartest business decision, but Im in it for the fun, not the business.
  8. So it seems the villains will really be storm monsters rather than rock monsters. Maybe the gray color of the sets/figs is meant to represent storm clouds rather than rock/stone.
  9. I like that teaser; my anticipation just went up dramatically. My opinion on the name change: DMTNT is a well-known piratical phrase in english, but these other languages probably dont have this phrase, so there was no nead for a literal translation. So, they went for a descriptive translation. FWIW, I think (POTC:)DMTNT is too long and awkward. (POTC:)Salazars Revenge is shorter and to the point of the movie. And DMTNT sounds too generic.
  10. There seem to be a lot of Christmas sets this year - this Santa, the Elves workshop, the nutcracker tree ornament, the reindeer, the snowglobe...
  11. Looks pretty substantial. I especially like the dark green. But as a parts pack, I prefer the reindeer - Im a sucker for the browns.
  12. I was a bit taken aback by the changes but I got used to the new look quickly enough. I use the site on a pretty basic level, so many of the new features (or lack of the old ones) dont really faze me. Anyway, I want to add my thanks and appreciation to the staff for putting in their free time for such a huge task. Hopefully such updates will remain few and far between, and another one wont be needed for a long, long time... I do want to ask, will the numbering of posts in a thread return? I sometimes used it to remember if a post was near the top or bottom of a page... not a big deal, just wondering.
  13. Being a child of the 90s, my favorites were Ice Planet and Exploriens, for their civilian exploration theme. Insectoids struck me as the most interesting aliens.
  14. Maybe the poor showing of PotC4 hurt sales, so TLG doesnt want to risk a full wave?
  15. Havent seen the prelims yet, so going only by the drawings (thanks for drawing them, he who shall not be named), Im intrigued. Im never really a fan of the ninja vehicles, more so of the building and enemy vehicles, and Im optimistic about this wave.
  16. Im hoping it will be as "conventional" a ship as possible, meaning not a ghost ship or a seamonster ship like the FD under Davy Jones. This so it fits in easily with LEGOs own non-supernatural Pirate theme. So, either the BP or Wills FD, But really, Im looking forward to anything.
  17. A most hopefull rumor, will be anxiously anticipating it plays out well, since it seems to be the only historical set announced for next year so far.
  18. I like that TLG is doing this. The figures are none too impressive, but its not like we would have gotten anything better in their place, so its nice that they give us something extra. The packs work as a source of minifigure parts for those who missed out on their original CMF runs, and I would wager that kids will be a lot less put off by the mismatched combos than AFOLs are.
  19. A very thorough review. But I notice that the Brickset and Bricklink links at the beginning link to the Kings Mech, instead of this set. As for the set itself, I look at it from the PoV of a disgruntled Castler - so pretty good for what it is, Inferno making a cool brick-built creature (coming from a guy who prefers molded creatures), but not something I would pick up.
  20. I think the Hobbit torsos are good for civilians of that era, especially the wealthier or middle class ones. For the lower classes, the peasants from the Castle themes should be ok, peasant clothes didnt change much until the industrial revolution.
  21. Yeah, that explanation always bugged me for this very reason.
  22. Good to see a fresh look for the spring banner. But in terms of banners I still look forward to the autumn
  23. I would also like new pieces for the Arabian Knight, but recolors of current parts could be good too. I assume that being a knight he would have a helmet, like the PoP soldiers/hassansins. If not then I would prefer the PoP turban to the Orient Expedition one or the newer snake charmer one. But what I really REALLY wish for is a new, narrower scimitar mold. Something new and better proportioned than the oversized old one or the notched one used for Orcs and Troll and Goblins and whatnot. But I fear they will use either of these or even the European greatsword.
  24. Well, we can always use this as a speculation/wishlist thread. For myself, I would prefer that it not be a batsuit series, but rather more diverse, with plenty of accessories.
  25. I was skeptical of the way that "roundess" of Pingu could be converted into LEGO, but this is great! Just as cute as the original!
