Well, I REALLY hope that if past factions are rought back or given shout-outs, they use their classic heraldry.

What are the contenders to the regular series? Batman movie and Disney 2? Anything else?

Excited for the film and hopeful for more sets. Put me in the camp of those that didnt think IJ4 was particularly bad. Maybe the transition from Indy to son/successor could be made like the new Creed movie spinning off from Rocky.

Well, its not like TLG needed to make all of them. Really, Abu and Flounder or Sebastian were the most needed, instead of the accessories Aladdin and Ariel got. That would be two molds, or just one (Abu) if the DP molds could be used for Ariels "companion". Of course, the designers might have hit their allocated new mold ceiling, so even one or two new molds might have been unfeasable. But CMFs have a high quota for new molds, thats why I suggested that its a licensing thing.

I wonder if the reason we didnt get Abu with Aladdin, Flounder or Sebastian with Ariel, Flotsam and Jetsam with Ursula, Pluto with Mickey, the raven with Maleficent, etc. is that TLG could only include one character per packet, maybe at Disneys insistence?

I have the same impression. Shame, but still recognizable as Alice.

Maybe in the original languages the posts are so eloquent that we would break down in tears of enchantment. There does seem tohave been an uptick in spam over the past few days. Im usually one of those that dont even notice any spam. I also wanted to compliment Actor Builder on his mad poetry skills.

I voted for printed, since it looks more colorful, like a parrot should. And probably partly out of nostalgia. But I like variety as much as all the other pirates here, so Im glad we have the other options as well.

Mine was 6258 Smuggler's Shanty from 1992. http://brickset.com/sets/6258-1/Smuggler-s-Shanty It would be interesting if someone with the free time made a tally to see which is/was the most frequent gateway set for the Pirate theme. Of course, the results will depend on the age of the AFOL, but it could be an interesting factoid.

1. Its a tough choice between Egypt and OE, but Im handing first place to OE as I think it had the most "epic" storyline and the most diversity, even though nostalgia would have me vote for the Egypt subtheme. Amazon is a close third, and then Dino Island is way back. It just doesnt fit in for me. 2. I had several ideas, but the most fleshed-out ones would be: - An arctic subtheme, with the gang searching for an artifact like the hammer of Thor. Norse mythologicla mosnters and/or zombie Vikings could be the supernatural antagonists, allong with Baron von Barron / Sam Sininster / Mr. Hates. And an Inuit as a native friend the gang alsways makes. - An undersea subtheme using the old-fashioned cmf diving suits, searching for treasure in a shipwreck or in the ruins of Atlantis. Seamonsters as the supernatural antagonists, along with some kind of undead conquistador or greek-style hero protecting the treasure. Maybe an Islander as a native friend? I know, both ideas have been done, in a way. But still, I would love to see a period take on them.

What a suspenseful situation! Where are the torsos of the two seated characters from? Are they actual LEGO?

This is a good point. Could we have a SW:CW situation on our hands? The Disney eyes are one of the defining characteristics of the characters after all..

@ preroller: It does look better with the red roof and the Harry Potter door, but I preferred the green hinged-roof coverings over the counters. That looked looked like wood painted green, this one kind of merges into the stonework of the ground floor.

Im as bummed as most people here abiut the potential absence of regular series in 2017, but... A lot of people here seem to be forgetting that this is The LEGO Movie version of Batman, which makes me think the film (and a potential CMF series) will focus on original quirky characters rather than new versions of the Bat family or the rogues gallery. If there are restrictions on licnesed characters as CMFs then packing the series with original characters is one way around it. The licnsed characters could stay exclusive to the sets based on the movie - assuming these restrictions exist for the DC theme and that TLG wont negotiate arund them. Batman and Ninjago series could actually offer plenty in the way of City and Sci-Fi figures, and maybe some Asian-flavored Historic figures in the case of Ninjago (or at least some useful parts). Admittedly, Im grasping at straws here.

For three-colored legs, couldnt they just dye the main piece yellow on the bottom half or third, keep the top part red, and then apply the middle black plastic normally?

Same here. So I guess its the design rather than a faulty part?

I think the lighthouse is best set of the wave (so far), and not just because of the minifigs - but then, I am biased towards buildings,and this wave doesnt have many. Zanes tumbler is best-looking of the vehicles for me, because of its compactness, which makes it look pretty tough, like a tumbler should be.

Thanks to all those that posted pics from the BoM. But count me among those skeptical that they would reveal the villains for the next year or two this early - if the plant monsters are for 2017 and the water monsters for 2018 (unless they would be both compressed into one year), thats like revealing the villains for the entire three years the theme is supposed to exist! In any case, when can we expect confirmation/refutation that plant monsters are really coming? Sometime around SDCC?

I also assume the Ice/Snow Queen would fit into Castle.

My money is on rogue (a Wolfpack connection wouldbe nice), or a ranger, if there is still room for one alongside the Forestman. My other suggestions are a shepherd or falconer, but the thing is, why wouldnt any of the possiblites have an accessory?

So, I wanted to ask, was there a Christmas shortage in anyones experience? From my experience, there didnt seem to be a shortage here in Bratislava, Slovakia, and Im under no illusions about the importance of our market for TLG. So I thought we would be hit by any shortage, but it didnt look that way. Any other experiences?

Are we sure the penguin isnt just an accessory to the penguin suit person rather than coming with an entirely other figure?
