  1. There's obviously quite a lot of CMF parts and accessories that have made other sets better, do you mean CMFs released almost concurrently or with in a few months of release that the designers intend to complement the set? As in your foal example? I'm going to quote myself from another post :P When I say "new parts budget" I mean unique elements. Others I can think of: Series 19 Monkey King was obviously a precursor to Monkie Kid the following year. Series 20 Pyjama Girl's bunny was possibly made to include in 21324 Sesame Street or maybe the designer just took advantage of the recently produced element. Series 21 Beekeeper's headgear, honey comb tile and Ladybug's printed ladybug tile were probably a case of the 41703 Friendship Tree House designer taking advantage of the recently produced existing element. There's a heap of these examples like the Hotdog, Pea and Corn Cob costume being repurposed but still pretty cool. Series 8 I think the Vampire Bat may have been produced so the elements could be reused for Monster Fighters Vampyre Castle even though the Castle was released first by a few months. Conversely I think it's interesting when it goes the opposite way. The Centaur body being produced for the Harry Potter 75967 Forbidden Forest, then they were probably thinking what can we do with this one off mould, ok stick a Centaur Warrior in the next CMF series ;) edit: Oh and the Series 22 Racoon Costume minifig head is also in 10305, but it's pretty generic, they could have reused any of the other female minifig heads.
  2. Ah, yes. I do remember seeing that one when I was scouring Monkie Kid sets for interesting parts, thanks for reminding me. Also, seeing reviews of 10305 I did notice the head of the dark green maiden appears to be the same as the S22 Raccoon Costume. I just checked New Elementary, they have it as a new piece but it could be the case of Lego just assigning it a new part number just like the Troubadour head. I'm convinced the only reason there is a knight costume girl in S23 is so the designers of 10305 could offset some of the new parts budget to the CMF line with the printed shield and gold grille piece. Maybe this applies a bit to series 22. The reissuing of the Troubadour parts in 10305 is probably the reason why all those pieces were available on Bricks and Pieces earlier this year before it was paused and merged with PAB. I know I got several extra blue hats.
  3. Regarding the talk of the bland grey walls, I don't agree with it but I can understand the opinion. Once I get it, I do plan on experimenting with replacing some existing masonry bricks with 1x2 DBG masonary bricks in yet undetermined places and I'll probably add a couple more plant leaves in addition to the lone one on the outer wall of the courtyard, to break up the grey slab. I may also experiment with some LBG 1x1 and 1x2 modified bricks with studs on the sides and cover them with DBG 1x1 and 1x2 tiles to try and replicate the printed stonework look here: That's the fun of it all, trying different things and personalising it as your own.
  4. Wow! Thank you. That's more than I could have hope for, comprehensive was my first thought. I'm getting far off topic but I can probably fill in quite a lot of the empty AU set names if you'd like, based on my Australian Catalogues?
  5. While there's plenty of examples of CMF accessories and other unique parts ending up repurposed for regular sets, I'm thinking TLM Panda Guy panda head in 80026 Pigsy's Noodle Tank or Series 12 Piggy Guy pig head and legs in 80102 Dragon Dance, and even reissues of whole minifigs (S6 Lady Liberty in 40519 New York Postcard) but for the purpose of your question and how it relates to the S22 Troubadour parts being reused in 10305, the only example I can think of is the TLM2 Giraffe Guy's minifig head was reused in 60234 Fun Fair People Pack and several other sets since then. edit: S8 Santa parts (torso and head) have been repurposed in other Christmas themed sets, but those parts only make up other Santa minifigs, not new characters.
  6. I registered on EB to say I've really liked your posts and contributions to this topic, so thank you. The U.S set names and factions are generally the accepted nomenclature for Castle but I'm now fascinated by the idea of Danish sets names and their translations. Do you have a link or resource that identifies the Danish names, brickset doesn't seem to have Danish catalogues from that period? I may just consider them now as gospel as Denmark is where they were designed.
