LEGO Dreamzzz Ongoing Rumours and Discussion.
rebelpilot replied to Agent Kallus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Just quoting my post from the BAM thread in case people haven't seen it and are interested in the Dreamzzz minifigs: -
It's probably time to post an image on the June BAM here since they're available in stores now, I have them already. Taken from jaysbrickblog because they're arranged in the "correct" suggest build. The unique parts are: Izzie's torso Izzie's skirt is new in coral Logan's torn shirt torso Logan's tail is new in dark azure Bright light blue classic space torso I think the eye print on Z-Blob's head is new, the slime isn't Z-Blob wrestler torso Reddish orange pirate torso From what I can tell the denim vest torso is just this printed torso with bare yellow arms and black hands so it can be classified as new unless it's been in a recent City release I haven't seen yet. Also Logan's dual moulded legs surprisingly haven't yet been released on PAB yet, so at least it's a way to source them.

LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!
rebelpilot replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yes you're right, it's not the same situation. And nowhere did I write that death night troopers don't "deserve" their set. The time for Pre-Mor Security in an advent calendar has passed, it was specific to 2022-23 when the parts (hat and torso) were already in production, it would be silly to want or expect Lego to bring them back now. The comment was tongue in cheek ("I'm holding my breath for") and clarified in the next sentence. I was referring to a comment about troops nobody wants multiples of. I'm the weirdo that wanted multiples of Pre-Mor Security and Bespin Guards, of which I'm happy to have gotten multiples of because of the 2016 advent calendar. I did not know there was a second season or film in (presumably pre-production) the making, I stand corrected. Hopefully the battlepack is still in production when they are released. -
LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!
rebelpilot replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I swear I memory holed seeing the 75412 battleback when the confidential watermark leaks occurred, but seeing the latest leak I'm a bit confused and disappointed. I'm not ordinarily one to wishlist what battlepacks should be but I'm a bit baffled that Lego went with uber scene specific death troopers (and stormtroopers) and I'm glad to read I'm not the only one. I get they're from Ahsoka, a series I've not seen, but I think a more generic troop battlepack with plain death troopers from Andor/Rogue One/Mandolorian would be more ideal. I don't even have a horse in this race, I've got enough death troopers from 2017 but if you're going to go to the effort of bringing back a troop I'd still like people to be able to get a more multipurpose and in demand version. I'm still holding my breath for a Pre-Mor Security Officer (i.e. Corpo Syril with a different head) to show up in an advent calendar. Note: it didn't happen in 2022 or 2023 so I know it's not happening now but if a Bespin Guard can be included and it still be one of the best advent calendars, why not Pre-Mor Security? For everyone bemoaning the lack of TIE Avenger so far, with 75393, 75347 and 75348 (retired but still available where I am) all on the shelves I think Lego was smart to go with the U-Wing for now until there's a bit more room for another TIE variant in the line-up. Hopefully the not too distant future. -
LEGO Dreamzzz Ongoing Rumours and Discussion.

Following up on this post from January.... I still don't own 71487 but I only just discovered the shade of the Mateo figure is bright green, so anything I said about green air tanks and helmets doesn't really apply. Something that is hard to tell in a brightly lit photo. The helmet is a bit harder to come by too. On the subject of mistakes, embarrassingly, I completely missed that the dark pink recolour of Zoey's hair is originally from Doey, a figure I own. It wasn't done for BAM, why didn't anyone point this out? :P -

I decided I wanted to save the Gaming Tower description text for posterity in case a leaked image does not eventuate. I've transcribed the image: -

rebelpilot replied to Agent Kallus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'm not at all surprised by the Gaming Tower cancellation but I am a little surprised there are 5 sets planned for next January. 71501 was priced at $180 USD, I think their direct sales data for Castle Nocturnia or lack thereof would have contributed to them not proceeding with production. Which means I won't hold my breath for the 2026 sets, they'll also have been designed but not yet manufactured so anything could transpire. edit: 71495 Mateo vs Cyber Brain Mech has just leaked. It's about what you'd expect for a literal Cyber Brain Mech parts and design wise. What's interesting is it includes the Mateo from the Gaming Tower leaked description, with the rubber cape and trans green arm and leg. So we won't be left wondering about that one. It looks very interesting. -
Better pics via @legofiesta It appears so. A thought it was bit random to bring back trans clear wings from 2013, they must be in a current Disney set that I'm not familiar with. Well close, they're in 21342 Ideas The Insect Collection. Although BAM introduced a brand new trans light blue glitter recolour in 2024 Question about the black martial arts gi. It's new right? My first impression was it's another Ninjago torso reused in BAM like this one. But I was probably thinking of this this. Then I saw the tiger on on the back and as a companion piece it makes me think of Cobra Kai in the same way S20 Martial Arts Boy is 'inspired by' Daniel LaRusso.

Please post a photo or link when possible, these pictures are fair game as the BAM figures have been found in store: A close up of the Redbeard 2x3 tile: I have no idea what is happening in the image, is that smoke? Interesting things of note: Apart from the Cockatoo from CMF S27 the backwards hat is the same as the longboarder. The leg with cast are mid legs if it wasn't obvious The rosy, freckled cheeks, braces head is from the CMF S22 Girl with Foal and has since been reused in other holiday/promo sets. All the heads look to me to be from existing sets. Coral beanie is from Friends. I love the magenta chili costume recolour but nothing else about him is new. I probably shouldn't have bought so many S27 Pirate Quartermasters. BAM is a money blackhole, so many new parts in 4 months.

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
rebelpilot replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Nice. I'm not a big fan of the newer style space helmets, plain motorcycle helmets 'til I die! I've been meaning to bricklink some trans neon orange Ice Planet visors since this torso became available but they're just not that abundant where I am. Great job, the arrangement of the 2x1 trans red tiles of the official set just doesn't look right. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 27. Rumors and discussion
rebelpilot replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Like this? And this? Sorry I'm not trying to pick on you ;) When I first saw pictures of S27 I wasn't thrilled with the Quartermaster, I felt the torso looked too similar to the D&D Elf Bard and I would have liked more pirate-y head wear, but since owning it I really like. There's been a few Pirate CMFs over the years and I like that they're quite different from each other. I've found the Scallywag the least reusable. Bring back the Fortune Teller hair/bandana though! It's probably retired and these days Lego would do it dual moulded rather than printing the bandana. edit: As I hit post I remembered there's the One Piece bandana/hair combo to look forward to, that will come with the One Piece sets. Google "One Piece Lego leak" and you should be able to find it. Agreed, I hope Lego reserves the hook hand and peg leg for iterations of Redbeard, if I want to add them to a pirate minifigure, I can. I'm more interested in having pirates that look like seafarers and merchants that plunder treasure when the Imperials aren't looking :D This torso and the BAM legs have been a windfall. As for skulls and crossbones and stripey shirts, I've got enough vintage pirate minifigures for that. -

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
rebelpilot replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Very nice. CMF series 21 Space Police torso makes for a great neo retro Black Futuron Spaceman, black airtanks will cover the "Police" on the back. But probably won't fit with retro-ified spacemen using the torsos from 60446. My main interest in series 26 was not the minifigures as intended but the parts to make these: I don't intend to leave the half mutated face on Blacktron II, instead go for a more neutral modern smiley face like M:Tron and Space Police. And maybe go for the straight boot of these legs if I can find them cheap enough and in numbers and swap the legs onto the black crotch piece. Blacktron I still needs a hands swap too. Series 24 Robot Warrior on the end is just for fun, with those colours it was crying out for those airtanks and visor. -
Jurassic Properties 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
rebelpilot replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Almost a given since they're confirmed to be in the movie and are a LJW staple, but nice to have it confirmed I guess. I think I'm ready for Lego to start producing Atrociraptor size Velociraptors. The down side being they'll lose articulation which reduces playability for children, the intended audience, but maybe they don't have to retire the 2012 raptor completely and still use it in 4+ sets. The 30th anniversary JP sets could have been the right time to make the switch, as they skewed slightly towards adult nostalgia and less to children, and to compensate for the smaller size, Lego could have doubled the number of raptors - delusional, I know. -
Jurassic Properties 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
rebelpilot replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thank you. Silly me, I first saw the four images on reddit and they're low quality and then I was doing the visual comparison with the pictures on the brickset article and they're equally as bad. But the images sent out to press and blogs are actually really high quality, I can now actually see the printed "scales" on the dark brown body and the dark red behind the eye isn't just a smudge, it's like night and day. I actually quite like the Spino now. Initially, I was a bit put off by the dark brown. And of course, I can see all the differences you highlight. The teeth pattern and "nostril" on the Baryonyx give it away but what I overlooked is the Baryonyx body is more slender (because it's the Indoraptor body) so at the neck joint you have to have a thinner neck to meet the slender body, the Baryonyx neck visually wouldn't work with the thicker Spino body which is more T-rex sized. -

rebelpilot replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere but is the Spinosaurus head just a reused Baryonyx head? I can see 5 small protuberance on the back of the Spino's head but they don't look as sharp as the 5 on the Baryonyx, but it could just be the quality of the render. Before seeing the IG post from Lego: I could have seen Lego recolouring this piece in black and bright light yellow for Johansson's minifigure in a Quetzalcoatlus nest set. But now that I see they haven't even got the hair colour right all bets are off. I'm waiting to see the complete sets before I can get excited because I'm keenly aware of the impact of the very condensed movie production shortening the lead time for Lego to adequately design the sets. I'm expecting sets similar to JW and JWFK with an assortment of Dinosaurs (based on preproduction concept art) paired with somewhat related vehicles (also based on preproduction concept art) that vaguely reflects what's on screen. Accuracy aside, if the sets are decent I'll be interested but I'm expecting whatever is produced to have been rushed. -
Ah, thanks for the confirmation they've been listed in the past. I only checked several days ago and they obviously weren't listed. I thought it might be because of the recent appearing/disappearing on a whim parts situation, based on what else is available under Design ID: 107007.

Disappointingly, these reddish orange legs are not available to purchase on PAB that I can see. I thought because they are unprinted they'd be available like some other plain medium legs from Animal Crossing but that must be because they also appear in other sets. Unfortunately the printed and minifigure elements from Animal Crossing are off limits on PAB because it's licensed. So it's back to waiting for Lego to produce reddish orange plain legs in a future City set to complete the brick costume. I did try a previous brick costume with medium legs and it works fine, regardless of the size they can't bend into the seating position anyway. Great for making a child in the brick costume instead of an adult.

Thanks very much! As always you're very reliable and quick to get and document the latest BAM releases. At first I didn't care for the dog print on the torso but now I can see it's supposed to represent a dog balloon animal, which fits the birthday party theme, I like it more. I actually prefer the back print so swapping the arms and reversing the orientation should fix that. It might be a similar scenario to this release which was a bit more limited in some countries because of supply issues if I recall correctly: Or it's a case of it being too early in the release cycle (the previous release was just over a month ago) and not every store having up to date info.

I'm not sure of the source of this so I took a screen grab from a Brick Clicker video. @Brick Clicker can maybe shed some light? If it's not obvious that's a reddish orange bricksuit (not the orange bricksuit from Q1 2023) with regular orange legs and the existing orange hermit grab. It's a shame reddish orange legs haven't been done yet because it doesn't look right with out them, I'm sure it's only a matter of time. (edit: reddish orange medium legs exist, I haven't tried if medium legs work with the bricksuit but it's pretty crappy they weren't provided to BAM) They're supposed to be available February. Which is weird, the BAM exclusives are coming thick and fast. I only got the green Xmas bricksuit a month ago and only caught up on the new Jan 2025 BAM releases a few days ago. I've got all the bricksuit colours to date so I guess I'm in the bag now, it's hard to keep up. And new animal costume recolours are always welcome.

I don't own this set yet but I saw this on reddit: ( It's the first photo I've seen with a green motorcycle helmet and airtanks (I think the OP used black) and I think it looks great as I hoped. Fortunately I own 60097 but unfortunately I don't have spares of the green helmet or air tanks and green airtanks are super expensive now. I think 71487 would have been the perfect set for Lego to reintroduce the green air tanks in light of Lego recolouring the classic helmet green in 80054 last year. I tried putting airtanks on a regular Mateo minifigure to see if the dreadlock hair piece touches and it only just clears but maybe it was too close for comfort for Lego. -

It's a bit strange that most of the minifigure parts from the August wave have not been added to PAB, that's how I intended to get Cooper (and Logan). I can be patient so hopefully they will appear in time. Is that Smyths? I'm not British but I'm familiar enough with the retailers to know the more popular ones, just not familiar enough to know which is the biggest :P That's what I feared, the lack of sales will prevent retailers from ordering this wave and the coming Summer wave. I would be still able to order what I want from Lego but then I won't see much of a discount. -

I know it wasn't really a question but there's a pretty decent article from The Wall Street Journal on the creation of the theme. I've also seen other articles on the number of kids surveyed from all around the world on their dreams and the focus groups Lego used when developing Dreamzzz and the set concept models. But you can definitely focus group something creative with an inch of its life, if you try to appeal to everyone, you'll appeal to no one. That may be the case with Dreamzzz. My theory has been that parent and grandparents traditionally buy Lego for kids for gifts or rewards, when they're in store looking to spend say 100 dollars (or currency equivalent) they see all the various themes on the shelves, Dreamzzz is a bit out there and has a lot going for it (vibrant, creative, rebuildability etc) but it's a bit of a risk as far as the child liking it and Lego isn't cheap, Dreamzzz included. They probably know my son likes Marvel or my daughter likes Disney this will be a safe bet so they get something Spider-Man or Frozen, not wanting to take a chance on the unknown that is Dreamzzz. I really need to stop watching these reviews because that's another set I'd dismissed and now I sort of want. I've repeated that the video game theme isn't for me, so I don't care for the game controller aspect, but I love the colours and it just looks like a very swooshable, well designed and built, cool looking space ship. Only one minifigure hurts it a bit and Cooper is not my favourite character, I would have much preferred the S2 silver version. I've stated it's not my intention to spam the thread with video reviews and they were well received before but Bricks By Mind is one of the few LAN members covering Dreamzzz so options are limited. That said, I really do like his very detailed reviews. I realised after posting this we'll probably still see what the Game Island Tower looks like via the tv show, so there's that at least. Although from past experience with the Sandman Tower, Dream Creature Stable etc the sets seem to look a lot better than the location models from the show, in my opinion. -

Out of the Summer wave this was the one I was least interested in just based on the name, being D2C and price. But I still wanted to see what it looked like it could have been a great build, I'm just not that interested in the gaming theme. I think this Summer wave will be the final one and season 3 of the series will be the end. I can't see Lego continuing putting out new sets, other than what is already planned, when they're just not seeing the sales. The D2C Castle Nocturinia already saw a 25% off sale here in Australia post Xmas just to move some stock. Regular sets see over 50% off being clearanced by other retailers, which is quite rare to see for most Lego sets. I've watched these two reviews now and I must say I really like the colours of the Z-Blob Race Car, the promo pictures didn't do it justice but the review really changed my mind, so vibrant. Unfortunately I don't really like the build (I like the alt bike build more than the car), maybe if I see it discounted by a significant amount. The other set I also dismissed but I now really enjoy the Tiger Mech (the Hot Rod not so much). I had no idea before watching the review that there were not 3-in-1 type alt builds but modules you mix and match to create other configurations. Kudos to the designers for trying something different this wave. Lastly, the new cyber brain spider like creatures (not really spiders if they've not got 8 legs) are really giving me the ick. I didn't mind the dark pink, purple and yellowish green coloured spiders from the first 2 waves, 30636 is almost cute, but something about the more realistic leg shaping or large abdomens that triggers my brain in to immediately seeing it as a threat. Thanks Lego for the brick based arachnophobia! 76434 can also die in a fire.
