Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
rebelpilot replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
It's been my own theory for the past 6 months that Lego are pricing PAB animals as a prohibitive measure. Possibly in an effort to curb resellers. It obviously won't stop them completely but maybe they'll think twice about ordering 200 and only order 50, some what ensuring availability for more customers. As most of us are just regular PAB customers, the flow on effect is if we want 10 cows or seals but we log in and see the price and don't see the value in it, we think twice and order 3 instead. Again, ensuring at any given time more availability for more customers. We still get our turtles or whatever, they are being made available for sale to us, but we just get less. The fact that there is probably very high profit margins on such pieces is a secondary consideration and if it helps cover the costs of PAB and its expansion in recent times, in their minds, all the better. And better than at the expense of having prohibitive costs on 1x2 bricks etc. I see people complaining about the price of the white 6440114 chicken but it's not much more than the equally absurd dark orange 6319680 chicken. It just means I bought a couple, at half the cost, from bricklink sellers who actually part of sets and don't source from PAB. I also notice the newish 6470913 white bulldog with teal collar is approximately twice the price of the older near identical white bulldog with red collar which was already expensive to begin with. Lego's costs to produce, store and sell it haven't double but that just means I won't purchase it from them, and I doubt resellers will be ordering them in large quantities, generating less demand on an already stressed PAB system. -
It's come and gone. Probably because of a pricing error in the listing.

LEGO Dreamzzz 2024 Rumours and Discussion
rebelpilot replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
30660 Polybag: Also from fateful_lego and Accio Lego: Ninjago had BAM figures last year, 3 Core characters that were not exclusive and 3 exclusives featuring exclusive torsos and heads for Arin and Sora. If the rumour is true (I don't know how credible it is) it could be existing season 1 or 2 parts or some exclusive prints like with the above Ninjago example. If that was the case I'd guess maybe non dream world outfits but that would be less interesting to me except for maybe Logan (the Hidden Side backwards hat and hoodie). Zoey's hair piece will be recoloured eventually and they probably would just use this for Izzie. A Mr Oz lab coat could see lots of interest outside of Dreamzzz though. -
That's pretty interesting. As I posted in the Dreamzzz topic Ninjago had BAM figures last year, 3 Core characters that were not exclusive and 3 exclusives featuring exclusive torsos and heads for Arin and Sora. If the rumour is true it could go either way, use a bunch of existing parts from Dreamzzz or some select exclusive parts.

It's the unprinted hermit crab 31212 The Milky Way Galaxy. Still, it's nice to get.

These? Sure, I'll agree that those names are about as official as they are going to get, as generic as some of them are, but isn't Bricklink still mostly user generated? Because if TLG had any intention to make it more official they'd change the colour names to align with the official palette. And then we could say goodbye to BL because the site would meltdown with the outcry

Whether or not a part is made available to purchase on PAB it's part information and name is usually still available from Lego unless it's from a just released set and Lego are slow on the upload. In the case of the grey smowl it's easier just to get this information from Brickset as they scape all that data from Lego's website: Or the back of the instruction book / part list. In the case of the tan smowl from Friends 42631

BAM figures generally don't have names. Just because a youtuber / leaker puts a label on them doesn't mean they're correct. edit: Maybe Brick Clicker meant 'Green' Queen rather than 'Greek' Queen, they did spell French 'Mine' wrong
-
It's been featured in BAM since January but it's not exclusive to BAM.

LEGO Dreamzzz 2024 Rumours and Discussion
rebelpilot replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I think we basically have similar views - great concept, not well executed. To be fair to the creatives working on the show, they're most likely constrained by a pretty small budget. Getting back to the Lego sets somewhat..... The Crocodile Car is in Season 1 Episode 15. The base model dream car is in several episodes and according to the wiki the Crocodile Car is also in the Ninjago crossover episode, which I've not seen. -
LEGO Dreamzzz 2024 Rumours and Discussion
rebelpilot replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I personally find the tv show borderline unwatchable, I'm not exactly the target audience, so I do hope kids and some adults get enjoyment out of it though. I do think it's an excellent concept, with fantastic looking realms and villains, just not well executed. The sets are ultimately what matter to me and they are, by far, exceptional. Regardless, I scanned through season 2 part 1 to see how the wave 3 sets are realised and specifically, to see how the new hourglass hilts are used and evil doppelgangers come about. I will also put some observations as spoilers: The 3-in-1 71483 The Never Witch's Nightmare Creatures is a must buy for me, I'm not sure which build I like the most but it's probably the evil mech. It's also good to get a smaller raven build and the wolf, which I forgot was in season 1. Looking at the pictures more closely I realised the new cauldron in wave 3 is not a cauldron but it's featured twice in 71483, once as a caldron but also the creatures chest piece including sockets. I haven't seen this before, is this a new piece or in other mech sets? Regarding the six, what look like, large satin trans-dark pink energy pieces used as feathers in 71478, are they new or are they reused from Ninjago? Finally, in season 1 the Never Witch is introduced as an old crone who then reveals/takes on her true form as the witch she is. Her appearance in the show is a bit different from the minifigure. I'm sort of more and more convinced the minifig hairpiece is repurposed from a cancelled Vidiyo minifigure like the witch hat/hair from 21341, and that could explain the difference. It's the same sort of tousled hair seen in the witch hat and Candy Mermaid hair. Those cancelled sets were: It could be from one of the Goth or Castle sets, the fact it is raven themed could be a happy coincidence or proves my theory is garbage ;) -
Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
rebelpilot replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
For those having trouble finding anything the leaks on instagram and have found they're not yet posted on the usual lego leak subreddit, try the lego harry potter specific subreddit, for now and future reference. Looking at the Ollivanders & Madam Malkin minifigure line up there's three new torsos, the ones that count, but the rest looked familiar to me so I wanted to check they are indeed repurposed. So here goes: Harry (duh), young girl (with flesh hands), boy in wheelchair, mannequin 1, mannequin 2 (but white hands). I've not seen it confirmed anywhere but does anyone know if it's expected that Buckbeak and the Mandrake come with a minifigure like other buildable creatures like the Patronus and Fawkes etc? -
LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
rebelpilot replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wow, if all you need to do to have a complete life is take Han's legs and torso from 75365 and add a Lando head, hair and hand swap you're living a pretty great life! Of course it won't be the cheapest exercise but Lando from 75396 will make the necessary Lando parts accessible and more affordable. But who can put a price on such fulfilment? -
It's the Alfred Pennyworth/Orient Express Waiter Tuxedo, swap the white gloved hands for flesh and you've got the Gringotts/Vault GWP Goblin torso. The dark orange torso is the exclusive Misako torso from the Ninjago City Gardens.

Damn, posted on the same day I put in a PaB order and paying close to 4 Euro for the Polar Bear head. I did pass on the unusually expensive Penguin head so this is a much cheaper way to obtain that, or just buy the relatively cheap Slushy Van. I'm really loving these and the new Llama print, new bulldog colour of course pink brick costume. I'd love for BAM to reuse the Ox and Rat head moulds for new costume figures.
-
The above image is taken from a local facebook group of a Lego store in Australia. The pirate torso is an existing element but the matching printed legs seem new. Does any one know if the mohawk guys printed legs are new? i don't recognise them. And if anyone is wondering the red beanie/hair combo is from Hermione in the HP 2023 advent calendar.

No, I just pulled those from the brickset reviews of each set. I noticed the tail, I think it would be like the marbling in parrots, no two are going to be identical. edit: try this and this.

Yeah, I think so too but you can pry my blue rabbits from my cold, dead hands I just happen to own all those Patronuses and the penguin, not because I think they fit with the city animals but I just happen to have the associated Harry Potter sets and the penguin was on B@P They should be the same dark orange, the lighting is different is these photos. I only have Red from the 75935 Baryonyx Face-Off dog but I consider them the same. It might be a case of the Jurassic World set being out of production by the time the Missions set went in to production so Lego gave it a different element number for internal reasons. There's quite a few examples, this and this is one that comes to mind. Bricklink often categorises them as the same regardless of Lego's numbering. New Elementary have a photo, it's not the best angle but I can see pupils.

Happy to help, if prying open a big can of worms is helpful That's what I guessed as it's a similar approach for me. Personally I find the likes of Sleeping Beauty's owl, the Coco dog, 101 Dalmatian, Camilla Gonzo's chicken etc too cartoony which is why I broached the licensed question. Technically they're non-Friends animals so I included them but if they're absent from my collection, I'm not too worried. But the likes of Lucky the Pizza Dog, Sox, Hedwig, Crookshanks, Fawkes, Nagini, Mrs. Norris, Padfoot totally work for me, Wonder Dog a little less so and the Mohawk cat a hard no. But then that brings in to debate the kitten version, like a said a can of worms: Since you have the Spring Lantern Festival bunny on your list, I would also possibly consider the Monkie Kid Heavenly Realms dog. And since this can of worms has now been pried so wide open, debatably, The Legend of Isla Nublar's Red is considered a different element from the dark orange dog in 60355. I can't check if bricklink considers them the same or if Lego just assigned them different part numbers. Then there is the elusive light blue marbled glow in the dark octopus from 2008 in the Agents theme. Considering the cost in obtaining one, it might be preferable to leave it off the list and forget it exists Lastly, I previously considered the yellow and green ducks as rubber toys as that is what Lego primarily used the element for in sets but since a dark orange version was included in the 2023 Friends Botanical Garden in a pond, I at least consider that version to be an animal element. Edit: killer penguins belong in a city don't they?

Excellent! At a glance, some that are missing: I wasn't sure if you were doing licensed animals but I see Crookshanks, Wonder dog and Hedwig among others so: Would Krypto and Scooby Doo make the list? I was able to source some of the above pictures from Brick Owl.

Yes, that explains the differences. I didn't think about different intended ages. -
Jurassic Park/World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
rebelpilot replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I've scrutinised the promo pics way too much (yay Mr. DNA) and I'm a little disappointed the 76958 Nedry's Jeep isn't the same build as in the more expensive 76960 Brachiosaurus set. Comparison: Brick built canopy aside, I couldn't work out why I preferred one over the other until I realised Nedry's might use slightly less parts for a smaller set. The thing that stand out to me, other than a slightly different front and back end, is that 76960 uses a 2x6 tile for the door panel with 2x6 sticker (to fit two minfigures side by side) and 76958 is instead one stud wide meaning a smaller cabin and a smaller JP logo on a much smaller 1x4 sticker. I'd already planned to mod it to slim down the canopy, add four individual spotlights side by side to the roof, swap out some of the medium nougat muddy pieces and drop the running board down a plate. So I could make the cabin wider to fit two minifigures abreast but the stickers for the door panel will be lacking. You're in luck. -
Jurassic Park/World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

The Triceratops looks great, best one yet. The original JP velociraptor colour was better but variety isn't so bad. I thought the Rex was the same as in 76948 but it has different markings. I'd prefer more medium nougat. Between 76936, 76956 and the moulded Rexes I would have hoped Lego could come up with a more consistent colour scheme for Roberta. The outside of the visitor centre is much better than I would have expected, I look forward to seeing the back. Yes, it's quite clever that the tree can be used for the "Welcome to Jurassic Park" scene and reused for the brachiosaurus sneezing on Lex scene. Disappointing..... ....even more disappointing. One day we'll get the right hair in black. At least if Alan had the Indy hat and hair combo they could have had two face prints, one with Aviators, one without. Oh well. -
Lego Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square Discussion Thread
rebelpilot replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I agree with your assessment and a printed owl or chicken should be less expensive to produce than a cow or horse but I was reminded of this interview: Apparently the smaller animals have have a bigger effect on a sets budget than you would assume. -
Jurassic Park/World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
rebelpilot replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm surprisingly more looking forward to the vehicles than the dinosaurs. The Roberta T-rex, a couple different Triceratops, a couple of JP Velociraptors and several Dilophosaurus, both oversized and more to scale, are already in my collection. I'm very much looking forward to the Brachiosaurus but I'm prepared for it to be a bit undersized. But I've been looking forward to a Jeep (or two!) for ages as well as a Ford Explorer since I passed on 76956 (I knew the separate vehicle would get a release eventually but maybe not this soon). It's already been mentioned but it will not be much of a surprise if Grant has the new Indy hat/hair combo but now having seen the new Indy minifigure I'm not enamoured with it. But I am looking forward to seeing if Malcolm gets a recoloured black hair piece since the one they've used before is not ideal. I was thinking the Jerry Seinfeld mullet or maybe the new Obi Wan hair from the Disney+ series. The shaving cream can has been in 75936 already, I can't imagine it being printed in 75958. edit: Also in 75932. There's a bit of disappoint there's no Gennaro but considering these are toys aimed at children I can't imagine they'll be much disappointment from kids that there's no random lawyer figure in 76960. Unless there's a Gennaro and toilet cubicle build in an upcoming polybag, Lego loves doing JW polybags :P
