Very nice! The snowy details are perfectly positioned.

Here are the hardy Icelanders and their nemesis the cunning Spyrates. The Icelanders live in a frozen paradise, spending their time exploring glaciers, making snow angels and hiding treasure in ice caves. For protection against thieving Spyrates, they have ice spears and a saw bow. They also have head lamps for exploring dark ice caves and a communications backpack for staying connected to the base. The Spyrates have been spying on the Icelanders and they want that treasure! The charming droid captain and his robo-parrot P011-y have a treasure datacard that will lead them straight to it. They are accompanied by their crew with a handheld laser cannon and a torch sabre.

Great video! I am all about Adventurers character names. That game design document from 1997 is funny (King ROM DOT COM ). According to The Secret Life of LEGO Bricks, the Adventurers theme was approved at the same time as the Western theme, so it was presumably in advanced stages of design in 1997, so I wonder if any of those names are original names for the minifigures, or if they were unique to the game concept.

I am glad you like it! The wheels are what inspired the model, replacing the barrels in the original.

Here is my entry for the Space Pirates contest: the Hover Raft. Instead of pirates, we have Spyrates (because it is Spyrius themed ). Three bold Spyrates sail their raft through space in search of plunder. Two crew members wield a handheld laser cannon and a sabre torch, whilst the charming droid captain gives commands, accompanied by his robo-parrot, P011-y. Will the Spyrates find the treasure? Follow the captain's treasure datacard to find out. 01011000 marks the spot! Some more views: As you may have guessed, this is based on 6257 Castaway's Raft. I tried to keep a similar profile and simplicity of design. I did turn the shark into a parrot, though! I hope you like it!

[Contest] Space Pirates - Back to the Carribean Galaxy!
BrynnOfCastlegate replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
For Category B, is it possible to rebuild two smaller pirates sets in one entry, or does it have to be a rebuild of just one set? -
The construction of the roofs of the corner towers captures the Mediterranean look perfectly!

Very nice! The cross almost hovering in the circle on the front of the church is a cool effect.

Hi! The first two buildings on the left are from 10184 Town Plan: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=10184-1#T=S&O=%7B%22iconly%22:0%7D I am not sure about the third.

Thank you for your sympathy. Yes, I agree and I certainly wouldn't repeat that theme for a future contest any time soon. Pity, because that is why I entered. I love seeing other people's MOCs, but for various reasons, I can't/don't want to build huge models in that style. Creating a set, however, was something I could do. We "new sets" still got outvoted by the "re-releases", though, as I suspected we would.

[CONTEST] Return of the Classic Pirates - WINNERS
BrynnOfCastlegate replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Congratulations to the winners! I thought I might be one of the few Islanders entries, but we ended up with quite a few at the top. -
[CONTEST] Return of the Classic Pirates - Vote Counting
BrynnOfCastlegate replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
It was the vote cast by Marooned Marin. There is no row in the spreadsheet for his votes, so I expect the other entries he voted for are also missing votes. -
[CONTEST] Return of the Classic Pirates - Vote Counting
BrynnOfCastlegate replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I was checking my votes, and it seems Marooned Marin's votes are missing from the spreadsheet. So I have one more vote making 17 (as well as the unfortunate one from Tom Skippy that does not count). -
[CONTEST] Return of the Classic Pirates - Vote Counting
BrynnOfCastlegate replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Thanks for the tally! By my count, my model also has 14 votes at the moment (not that I've been keeping track ). So we have a three-way tie at the moment! -
Thank you! I agree there is room for an extra islander. The technical reason why there isn't one has to do with the feathers/horns on their heads. Those elements come on a sprue of one feather piece with two horn pieces. So I have to use the elements in that ratio. Adding another islander would require me to remove a horn piece from the roof or the statue, which I did not want to do. So that is the reason: the technicalities of trying to design a set rather than a MOC.

Thank you! I like how the trapdoor turned out also. I tried to make it very much in the style of other sets from the period.

Thank you! I love building in classic styles. I pulled an original catalogue from 1995 out of my archives to scan for the last image.

Très bien! J'adore le style classique, particulièrement la petite île. Et l'histoire des pirates est bien faite. Bien sûr, l'océan au-dessous n'est pas de style officiel, mais c'est joli quand même.

I'm glad you like it! That's one of my favourite parts, too.

I'm glad you like it! I like how the catalogue picture turned out too. I made a GIF illustrating the trapdoor feature. You can download it using the all-new Netscape Navigator 1.0! It is a huge 4 megabytes though, so it may take a while on your dial-up.
