2022 as well as 2020 has this same anomaly with more than 2 pullback sets which automatically limits the number of non-car models - maybe that's the problem. On the other hand, it is a pity that TLG didn't take this situation to introduce a new soft spring pullback drive which seems more useful for me. Btw, if designing medium and big sets take 2 years in 2023 wave we should finally get models using unavailable parts from canceled Osprey 42113. DBG panels curved 5x13x2, panels 5x11x1 tapered, panels curved 3x13 and panels fairling #1 & #2 could be used in 42156 Peugeot 9x8 Hypercar (if it's in that color). Not sure which set could use orange panels 5x11x1 tapered and wheels 31 x 15. Maybe small snow groomer will be in orange?

Maybe amount of purchased sets is a bad determinant but every odd year was interesting for me. For example, below is a list of the number of sets that I have bought: 2017 - 3 2018 - 0 2019 - 6 2020 - 1 2021 - 3 2022 - 0 2023 - ? Based of this summary, 2023 could bring good sets (at least for me if regularity will remain correct). We haven't seen any leaked images yet so let's stay positive.

Thank you. I was thinking about building trailer for previously made truck for 3 months and when I finally found motivation to do it, the physical model was created just in few hours.Helicopter was intended to resemble old studded models and it was much more time consuming despite less amount of pieces.

Second model from the collection is now available. Cement mixer is smaller version of the 42112 set with similar functions. Features: - front axles steered using knob on roof - rear axles drive tipper drum - inline 3 piston engine powered by vehicle movement or drum rotation - cabin with 2 seats, steering wheel, opening doors and mirrors - gearbox for disconneting drive rotating drum by rear wheels - side knob for manualy rotating drum - archimedes screw moves elements in drum (moving forward - mix elements, backward - unload) - movable chute Comparison with 42112 set: Real photos with different color scheme: Free instructions available at rebrickable

Technic 2023 Set Discussion
artemisovsky replied to Dami's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It is highly probable that Bugatti Vision and Chevrolet Camaro will continue augmented reality theme started by Mustang Shelby and Formula E Porsche. So no fake engine or steering in these sets. However, for me snow groomer and the batcycle may be very interesting. Motorcycle will probably be a good black color parts donor, maybe transparent cylinders and light brick (as headlight?) but without a gearbox in this price. I wonder if it will have street type tires (as in the movie) or motocross tires (probably more likely). Number of cars in this wave does not surprise me looking at the sales results (e.g. poor sales of brilliant hovercraft 42120). The most sad for me is TLG forgot intermediate price ranges 15/30/40 euro. -
I would like to introduce my latest project Mini Formula Racer. I usually make alternative models from the official sets from technic series, but due to the fact that this year TLG has released a tragic package of models for me with reduced functions and strange mixing of incompatible colors in one set, I have plans preparing more no-alternate MOCs. Here's the first one: small formula racer, initially based on old set 8808 but I changed it so much that it's not a studless version of official set. Features working steering wheel, working V6 engine, adjustable mirrors and rear spoiler (DRS), rear diffuser. In this model I didn't add system halo because it looks bad on this scale, also there is not enough space for the differential (the engine is driven by one wheel). Some comparision with 8808 set (built in a different color than the original, yellow color sheme) Free instructions available at Rebrickable

11. Bucket Wheel Excavator Features: Rotaring bucket wheel (can be driven with tracks or manual) Working transporting belt for excavated material synchronized with movement of excavator bucket Gearbox for switching drive method (tracks, manual or neutral) Raised/lowered main arm via 2 actuators Rotaring main platform (can be rotated 360° freely) In raised position of main arm, BWE works with Lego balls x45 like GBC Movable ladder gain access operators to cab Adjustable headlights position Total parts: 777 Dimensions: W x L x H: 14 x 37 x 19 = 9842 cubic studs Pictures:

Thank you. For sure is simpler, without unnecessary additions. But the color scheme can be sad, I like it anyway. Thank you. This yellow background is information board for building a house in my country. Pretty cool replacement professional background for photographers but it is very reflective. Thanks for the feedback. I also thought about it before and I came to the conclusion that the version with a differential is better. The excavator looks better for me with it and I have a feeling that drives more smoothly. Change to the second version without differential takes about a minute. I still have some time and I don't know whether to change it. Below are renders with a comparison of both versions.

I tried this solution earlier, but the ladder was too thick and it did't look very special. Perhaps without tying it into circuit would be nice but I dont' know how to attach it in this way. @Philtech @mdemerchant @KevinMD @Nazgarot thanks for feedbacks. Looking at the proportions in the diagrams, the left cab seemed too large and the middle and right seemed too small so i made an intermediate version like on new renders. This is rather the final version and I'm in the process of making instructions. I'll make it available on rebrickable probably next week and try to take better quality real photos after rebuilding the model.

@jorgeopesi @Stuartn @mdemerchant thanks very much for your feedbacks. I decided to try reduce this cab even more like below render, I don't know which version to choose yet. It is possible that another solution comes to my mind. Initially, I wanted make BWE with ropes but the limit of 10,000 cubic studs limited me a bit. Even good because I do not know if I would have finished more complicated model. Below are my first diagrams with stud dimensions. I'm going to share free pdf instructions before the end of contest so anyone interested will be able to build it. A large number of small tracks and new technic beams 2x3 L-shape are required.

Some progress has been made. 3rd version of the reduced chassis looks like below. Tracks now work without any friction and in this element it is the almost final version. There was an idea for the excavator to work with the Lego balls like GBC. To make it possible, bucket wheel has been slightly modified. When arm is picked up to horizontal position balls easily are moved to transporting belt with help of small slope element. Unfortunately it does not work very well when the arm is lowered. Actuators have been moved to the rear to avoid collision with moving transporting belt. Digital model is in progress. After that, I will try to show clear view of main mechanisms using renders from Studio.

General Part Discussion
artemisovsky replied to Polo-Freak's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The problem starts when you need to use 2 or 3 holes - like in my bucket wheel excavator for TC22. I had to pair these elements which was a bit of pain, but still possible. In my 42120 (I bought it on March last year) axle holes orientation was correct. I saw this discussion before and one user said that the problem already looks resolved, which is why I was surprised with my order from this year. So you are right, I was just unlucky.- 5,445 replies

General Part Discussion
artemisovsky replied to Polo-Freak's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
If anyone wonders that problem with cross in new elements has been fixed the answer is no. Unless I got some elements from old storage. After reporting got a second set of elements with the same faults. I also bought a few technic beams 2x5 L-shape and it seems that this problem happily does not exist in them.- 5,445 replies

Thank you. Next step is try to change the tracks to the smaller ones you have indicated. Thanks. For this moc I plan making and sharing free instructions, so anyone interested will be able to bulid it. Current progress - main drive system works without stucks and more smooth than gearbox in my 42110. Additionally this solution allows free rotation of turret and lifting the arm.
