  1. Inspirational, aspirational and motivational... what a layout
  2. I think weight will also affect them. Here is a simple test... Get a circle of track. Separate the tender and locomotive and put them at opposite sides of circle. Start them off at the same time. If they are running at the same speed then they will never catch up with each other. Otherwise you can see which is running faster and tweak to match them. NB: this may also be a little crazy 🤪
  3. https://www.brickstickershop.com/Lego-Sticker-7720-Diesel-Freight-Train-Set-(1980)-Custom-Replacement I am in no way affiliated with brickstickershop btw 🤣 That said though I do like the quality of the stickers I have got from them
  4. Do you mean something made to look like this one (161)? Or like the tender from 7750 with white stickers? Or even a 7722 style tender
  5. I just purchased a set of repro stickers from brickstickershop... https://www.brickstickershop.com/Webwinkel-Product-160688229/Replacement-sticker-Lego--7810-Push-Along-Steam-Engine
  6. Another fantastic model! The white stripes surrounding the black are excellent on the loco and really make it pop. The tankers and barrier wagon are very slick also. 👏
  7. Interesting... seems I'm missing a sticker on my 7810 then. To keep the wheel colours consistent I put a red motor in mine.... Unfortunately a subsequent crash trashed one of my red motors so its back to push along for now )
  8. Oh, keep the videos coming! I finally got my tables set up and am starting my first "permanent" layout. I already got a few ideas from some of you videos.
  9. If you replace the 6 x 8 black plate with some 1x 6 plates you can make a 4 x 6 hole for the 2 weight bricks to sit over the motor pin and poke up The top slopes will sit on the weights. The stickers can stay as the outer bricks are untouched. I'll try to dig mine out later and attach a picture.
  10. I've taken this train out of Connolly to Leixlip a few times and this model looks great. I really like the doors and the arrow at the front. I was considering building a 12v MOC of an E421 class. so you have inspired me to start it!
  11. That's a very nice layout. The number of controls is impressive. This is why I still prefer 12v! You have some long runs of cables, are they all original lego or have you found a substitute?
  12. That's some impressive engineering to get the cylinders nestling in between the axles on the curves
  13. yes, that's where I got mine
  14. I think I purchased that same sticker sheet that @SDLgo9 is describing. If you do get one, note that there are only 2 'door' stickers for each company so if you want to say build the 3 large electric locomotives, then I would recommend buying 2 copies of the sheet. I only bought 1 so my placement was unorthodox
  15. I uploaded the photos to Flickr and them just insert a link to the image here
  16. Great videos. Lots of interesting information especially about the part variations. Keep it up!
  17. Hi, apologies for dragging up a post from so long ago, but I stumbled across while looking at the 7777 builds and wanted to build it. Firstly, much thanks and appreciation to @Jetflap for posting this and I used his build as much as the photo of the original while building mine. Here is the front. One subtle difference from Jetflap's version is the addition of a 1x1 round plate under the bars at the front. From studying the original photo I think this is how it was. I have done some research into the SW10 and this is actually the back. So I agree that windows are required on the other side of the cab. My solution for the overlap problem was to go with airplane windows (2377). The opening is towards the top and the style of them also works well with the train window (4035) Secondly, although I agree a lot of the grey era trains do have removable roofs, looking at 7755, 7760 and even 7735 which are all shunters, none of those had removable roofs. therefore I put a 1 x 4 plate under the 2 plane windows to push the up even higher so that there is practically no overlap when put together and viewing from the other side I am happy with the overall effect The overlap on the windows is quite small, and certainly no worse than on 7722 (one of my favourite steam engines) You may have also noticed, I did diverge a little with the fuel tanks making them bigger Finally, I have searched for other images of this prototype... I was hopeful when I found al the images from Torben Plagborg, as the other prototypes were there. I think I found it. what do you think? Unfortunately its too small to be useful :(
