  1. No need to introduce, once you see it it's clear what model it is! Great build. I love the wheel rims, they look like real thing. It's a shame there is no suitable panels for class window, especially rear. The other cars also shows your skills.
  2. Looking impressive! And really overloaded with functions - which is good thing. This model shows how Technic should work.
  3. Yeah! But also they are forced by some silly "green" regulations. With >6 speed automatic it's easier to comply with emission limits. And with those many gears it becomes difficult to manage gear shifting. I tried to use manual shifts on 8 speed gearbox (it was dual clutch, if anyone is interested), and without clear engine noise it's not easy. It gives you more adrenaline but do we really need it all the time? OTOH driving in city traffic, with constant stoping and accelerating is really annoying with manual. That's why my current car has automatic gearbox. On that note I'm for STR-10 as next Technic flagship.
  4. True. And this is what recently happened to as well. I think you are mixing few issues. One is lowering quality standard - for me color inconsistency goes into this. Second is poorer quality control - here goes missing or wrong parts. Third is regulatory requirements, like more environmentally friendly plastic material (if there is one ) - the best example is softer pins wit friction. And another pool of problems is with unexpected things, like brittle plastic after some time or degradation of clutch power, that goes unnoticed during lab testing.
  5. Looks like (headroom wise), but the seats are different than in City sets, so they will slip. ;-)
  6. Those new space sets are soooo refreshing! Hope they will resurrect technic figures to match seats used.
  7. Looking good! Definitely one of the most extraordinary vehicles, and good looking too.
  8. Thing is, high quality moulds have nothing to do with clutch force - it's design thing. High quality mould will allow high and repeatable quality, but this is only 1/3 of the equation. You still must have good and stable injection machines (which will allow for stable process) and proper plastic resin.
  9. Got this set as a gift (a guided one :) ) and it is very playable. I like it even if turning circle is on a large side. The tires looks great, much better than standard off-road tires. The roof is not great, but no big deal to me. Weird thing is that instead of 2 pieces of green Slope Curved 3 x 1 No Studs I got only one and one extra Plate 1 x 4 in Brown. Weird, as this part does not appears in this set, so I guess it's just produced in the same factory and has similar weight.
  10. My first Technic set was Unversal Set 8055. It comes with instructions for 5 models (IIRC) and pictures of few another to figure out by myself. This was the best building experience to date. (Granted, I had much more time to do it back then ) I was so proud I build seat from 8860 set - just a seat, I didn't have more bricks then, and of course no instruction, just picture form catalogue. I build all A models and most B-models. I can think of 1 set that I did not. They all are now disassembled. I keep one MOC model, but it's mot my design. And few other in progres... Also if I remember correctly set 8284 was sold in Europe as a Tractor and in US as a Buggy. So the roles of B-model was reversed.
  11. Great compact design! Pneumatics seem to be underrepresented. Nice thing to place switches to act as levers for the driver.
  12. Most of the quality problems now are not with cracking, but with colour consistency and texture/flow lines/injection defects. Even the clutch strength is still ok, only the black pins are now made from softer plastic, feels much less satisfying to assemble.
  13. I second this. There are more and more silly/stupid titles and thesis. It's best to ignore this.
  14. Space sets looks fantastic! Shame I have no space to start another collection.
  15. @oracid, no worries. Sure it's better to use proven components, I would do the same. Unless you want to dive deep into the subject it will be faster, cheaper and safer to use stock parts. Just the point about not charging during usage got me curious.
  16. In calls pack designed for high current (I guess this is what you mean by high intensity) they are actually welded, not soldered. Rechargeable batteries does not like high temperatures generated during welding. Why? I'm no expert but it does not seems critical. Charger will simply add it's current and reduce current flowing from battery. Or, if it has higher current than consumption the battery charging will be slower. I'm pretty sure they both join at the battery terminal.
  17. I'm truly impressed by CADA catalogue! So many great models. Great to see your names as designers, this reassures models quality. Time to consider buying one?
  18. Please don't give them silly ideas. ;-) But this will be great idea.
  19. The complete sentence means something like you wrote, but in much harsher words. ;-) I think politics is the most likely cause for this decision.
  20. It ended as great set! Rotation of the hook is nice alternation from typical functions.
  21. Do I see smartphone control AND physical remote? The world is ending...
  22. It's sad indeed. The more reviewers the better. And I place Sariel in the "proper" reviewers, not tiktok stars.
