  1. 9 sets releasing in this wave, and only 1 of them is an ""actual"" LEGO set... truly dystopian times for the LEGO Star Wars theme. (Though seriously, I feel like this would have been inconceivable like 2 years ago)
  2. I thought this for a second too, but that just seems to be a strange error in just the minifig lineup sections of the temple bounty and combat vehicle boxes. In every other image (the actual box arts for the two sets and the renders), it looks like he just has his usual yellow head unfortunately.
  3. Ah, fair enough. I'll retroactively change my view on that to 3-1 would have made more sense than 2-2 I guess, but for my personal situation I'm happy with how it is since I don't plan on buying duplicates.
  4. It's frustrating that Frak is exclusive to the combat vehicle, and that we're probably not going to get his head without a hood or his s3p1 outfit, but the Kai motorcycle set is great. Interesting that the dragonian in that set has the regular sized horns when all of the spectral ones in other sets have the larger ones (I think).
  5. I get where you're coming from, but I don't think this really applies here in the same way it would to a BP with truly wacky trooper ratios (sith trooper BP), because most people buying this set are only going to buy one, and if there was only 1 death trooper, those people would only be able to get one of them. When you buy multiples you do end up with 50/50 generic/elite, which is frustrating, but in cases like this where the death troopers aren't going to be included anywhere else, I do think there have to be 2 of them. In my case, I'll probably just buy one of this one and end up with 3 night troopers and 2 death troopers, which I'm happy with. While on a larger scale it would be ideal if the generic troops outnumbered the specialists, I think just having 2 of each, which will be the case for most people, isn't that bad.
  6. Just to wrap this up I think @Mandalorianknight is right here; the set of things people consider canon is subjective and up to interpretation. I get that you see only the original artist's contributions to the universe as the legitimate parts of that universe, but there's really no objective standard that makes that the "true" canon over any other. You could say that only the parts of the franchise that George Lucas made are the original, George-approved canon, and that that's your preferred interpretation of the fictional Star Wars universe, and that would be completely valid, but I don't think you're right in purporting that that's the only "true" canon or anything like that. Any one interpretation is as valid/correct as any other; regardless of if one of them was the original intention, one is the accepted list adhered to by the current rights holder, or one is whatever some random person has found the time to watch and decided that they like. Replying again because this was sent while I was typing my last one but this is probably the last of what I'll say for the sake of the topic Pro tip: "their" and "they" would save you a lot of time here You probably haven't read my last post yet, but either way, there's no objective standard to say what "the canon" or "the true canon" actually is. The "Disney canon" is easy to define, and is probably also what you'd call the "official canon". You could easily argue that the "original canon" is 1-6, no problems. It just doesn't make sense to pick one of those and call it the one true canon when all of them are just as much of an interpretation of the fictional universe in question as any other.
  7. Which means not only does it fail to contain any big, expensive parts to help justify the price, but significantly less pieces will be left over to go into the actual tank. How on Earth are they going to pull this off??
  8. Why? I mean, the Disney canon is definitely the "official" canon, right? But even then, no one's saying that that makes it the "technically correct" canon or anything; the media you personally consume and enjoy is up to you. No canon is more "technically" Star Wars canon than any other, and I fail to see why George just having the primary role in creating the first few Star Wars properties makes those things the only legitimate Star Wars. Not trying to start an argument or anything, just curious about your reasoning.
  9. Just built the newish Trial Chamber set, and I really like it, particularly how they made the oxidised copper bulbs appear dimmer than the regular ones with the black bracket used behind trans yellow vs a white bracket for the brighter-looking ones, but I just don't understand why the breezes are missing their iconic eyebrows! Particularly disappointing considering we're probably not getting them again for the next several years, and inexplicable considering the eyebrows weren't a late addition to the breeze's design or anything. Anyone know what might've happened here?
  10. What @THELEGOBATMAN said, plus I think Ninjago might have been at least part of the reason MK is ending, hehe
  11. I was personally quite confused at the idea of it being a book nook in the middle rather than book ends with a tunnel going "through the books" or something similar (haven't seen the sketch yet). This makes much more sense and should look really great I think.
  12. This also makes me worried that we won't get a hoodless version of Frak, since his design in the show is one of those that's based on real pieces (in this case, the whipper head) but not in a way that can actually be made physically with existing pieces. Probably why we still don't have Geo, since his ears are borrowed from other headgear with elf ears but in a way that's not physically possible, and his hair uses mostly an existing piece, but braided at the back, making it similarly impossible to make physically. It seems to me like LEGO is generally opposed to producing things like this, something something redundant, something something capitalism. Past examples of this would I think be characters like Neuro or Gravis (hair and turban respectively), who were seemingly not originally intended to be physical minifigures, but in their cases it was justified by making Neuro not part of a mainline set, and with Gravis, by making him as part of a line of deliberately redesigned sets, but the point is, there was never any real way LEGO was going to make a new piece for, say, Gravis, that was an identical copy of the retired turban piece modified with his symbol on the front.
  13. It was used in 2022 for the 187th commander, so it's definitely still around. But yeah, with one like that, I doubt they'd get rid of it after 5 years like they normally do.
  14. And 2 for YJA, but those aren't the same so I wouldn't really count them, just thought they would be worth mentioning.
  15. Still a "special occasion" set though I guess, being not just a regular anniversary set (special box art and exclusive figure), but also a very direct remake of two older sets. Maybe that's why it was given that position, and Christmas is just one of the things these sets will be based on going forward.
  16. I think Galen and Krennic are fair enough for a Death Star (though I would hope they get included in something else down the line), but surely they put in a beach trooper, like c'mon
  17. I think his torso (and so probably legs too) are the same as the Rogue figure, but he definitely has a new/exclusive hood piece. They've avoided putting half masks in 4+ sets before so that's probably why, but at least it's a new hood I guess, lol.
  18. Fair point, but what I meant was that although all of them are watermarked with a confidential stamp, one of the Star Wars ones (the only one that seems to be preliminary) has a different confidential stamp that says it's preliminary, unlike privet drive. Also, I haven't seen versions of the images with the watermarks removed, so we must be looking at different copies of the images, but either way, the sign is definitely supposed to be teal, so it would seem that privet drive is final.
  19. Maybe it's got a sound brick?? That would somewhat explain the price (though not necessarily justify it), and I feel like the iconic theme music that plays with the Star Wars logo at the start of the movies isn't really something that the Marvel logo has, which might be why it's in this one but not the Marvel one.
  20. Some pictures I can see online show the sign actually being teal, so I think it's probably final. Also, one of the four star wars sets that leaked says "preliminary image" inside the confidential stamp, and that one is clearly preliminary (blatantly incorrect minifigs) unlike the other three, so I think privet drive would probably have that too if it was also not finalised.
  21. Also, are we not getting a big temple/location playset at all for dragons rising season 3? À la the fire temple, garmadon's dark fortress, temple of light, battle for ninjago city, enter the serpent, city of stiix, dragon's forge, temple of resurrection, dragon pit, monastery of spinjitzu, castle of the forsaken emperor, temple of madness, skull sorcerer's dungeons, keepers' village, temple of the endless sea, crystal king temple, ninja dojo temple, temple of the dragon energy cores, and the wolf mask shadow dojo? Would be a pretty crazy trend to break, especially considering how many sets we're getting for each season with only 1 per year for dragons rising, and how little we've been getting other than ninja vehicles and dragons for the last while already (no villain vehicles or anything, so at least a substantial location set would be good).
  22. I don't love Rontu, which is annoying since I was planning on buying her to get Zarkt, which is now even harder to justify considering Lloyd and Sora both come in the Jet Mech that has the exclusive Kur, and Wyldfyre is obviously not new (breaking the Sora/Arin/Wyldfyre trend of 1 new figure per year??), and I feel like they definitely could have done better with the head as the top part seems to be a new piece, so why the brick built bottom jaw?? I do like the new transparent energy pieces seen on Rontu and Rogue's mech dragon though. Maybe they're going to use the new head piece from Rontu to make the next Riyu in 2026, as it looks a bit like him and would enable a moving jaw unlike the current one.
  23. Plo Koon - yay, head piece is much better than the old one Night troopers - pretty cool, meh build though, will buy 1 to put with the Peridea set but I don't feel attached enough to them to need a whole army. I hope they appear in something else down the line though Maul mech - the red chest looks a bit strange... making the mechs look like upscaled versions of the characters (except for Luke) was already slightly weird, but this one being shirtless is even stranger 327th bp - spider droid is definitely an improvement (eyes actually set into the ball instead of sticking out on a telephone piece), and the AT-RT is nice and colourful, and the terrain build looks decent (lovely teal and reddish orange plants), but the final versions of those clones had better be properly decked out to justify it being AU$60+ (going to wait for a sale either way though because omg)
  24. I hadn't seen this particular post until now, but from what I gather, I think that that was the joke, in that that's how the phrase is normally used, but she meant it in the sense of the HP trio. Might be wrong though.
  25. Yeah, it's just the next one in the series they have going of modular city sets. It's definitely quite small in comparison to the others, being objectively the smallest one so far, but they made it fit in with the others well enough I think.
