Very nice review and I must say this is the first review of this set I ever saw. Thank you for that. -
Overall the truck is superb, can not find anything wrong with it. On the other side, But, I must admit I would have liked a more detailed cab, like 8258 had. The lights are somehow ugly (and do not resemble the real thing in any way), and the overall look of the cab is unfinished.

For sure it is in the scale of 8258 and 8285. The Unimog is in a larger scale i think.

Did the doors of 8258 opened ? If so, i must have built my model wrong

Yes, yes and yes ! The Merc is so nice, it has suspension, new pneumatics and it looks very good too (almost as good as 8258). But man, what a year for the Technic line, i am impressed !

Interesting MOC and very nice suspension system ! Did you think how would the blade should look like ? Will it be PF or pneumatic ?

Had the same problem with the thin beams of 8275. The set was built as a display model when i bought it and it had almost all of the thin beams cracked near the edge :(

Well, yea, but beside 8288 there are not any other crawler cranes, as for trucks which are a lot of them (8258, 8285, 9397. 8810, etc).

I must admit that I am looking foreword to see/buy the crane first, because I think crawler cranes are cool and new to the Lego Technic world.

Yea, but the problem with 8110s instructions was that the whole 2 manual was in poor quality, so ... to make every single image better it would take a while. All in all, I managed to get some scanned pics of the instructions and it was ok after that.

Well, if all i hear here is true, we are going to have some cool 2H models this year. The crawler crane sound a lot better than i ever imagined.

Whoaa, after seeing your picture JunksyleGio, I remembered that i built 8110 with online instructions, a nightmare. The quality is so poor ...

For me was the 8110 Unimog just because of the pneumatic hoses which were too stiff to get them into the corresponding valves/cylinders/etc.Very very frustrating.

The yellow and black combination looks stunning, i wonder why the designers have not thought of it. The red and white one looks cool too !

Hmm, if that is how the actual truck will look I must say I am a little dissapointed. I was hopeing for more details on the cab, like 8258 had. But, many thx for the replica !

Looks great Paul, but one question: how does it steer ? The wheels are linked to the thing that connects the trailer to the Volvo ?

Well, if I were you, I would buy the big crane 42009. It has a huge amount of pieces, lots of wheels and a nice gearbox. But if you want RC, go for 9398 or 42030.
