  1. It will not be minifig scale either, and the foliage will probably not work well for Castle mocs. But still interesting to see their take, and have it inspire actual Castle recreations. I think a Garden setting could compliment Castle pretty well
  2. Good call. I didn't even realize that was a theme, but this seems to fit.
  3. Hot off the presses Looks like we're getting a Medieval gardens in January. ~1.1k+ pc set. No pictures of it so far, so not sure what this will look like at all. I'm not even entirely sure if this is a real 'Castle' line set, since it looks priced and pieced similarly to Fountain Gardens. We will see.
  4. More a planned lifespan to generate demand. The difference today is they know AFOLs will buy large quantities out of a fear of missing out
  5. Bull Knights were on the Vending Machine poll, so I definitely wouldn't count them out. I imagine they could do a Joust set and have a bunch of different cameo factions be present as various jousting knights, or they could always revisit em in a CMF one-off.
  6. It's a bit incomparable as I don't think new generation of kids are growing up with any type of Castle Lego in the same way as it's being bought by Adults who grew up with it. The sets kids go for would be what's readily available on store shelves, while Castle has become adult collector items that you can only get in the Lego store or online. My 3 year old gets exposed to all sorts of Lego themes from Marvel and DIsney to Friends and Ninjago. Yet her only exposure to Castle would only ever be through my collection.
  7. I'd really hoped the Majisto GWP was a gateway to Dragon Masters return, but we didn't even get a CMF out of that. All while Wolfpack got a surprising resurgence. So it's really all up in the air for what the Sea Serpent means in the future. I still want one just as a rival for the Krakens. And I'm sure a 3rd party will make cloth sails. Unfortunate, but also probably for the best rather than waiting for Lego to resurge every Castle theme. --edit-- Ninjago Dragon of Life looks like it'll have some great parts for a forest creature build. I can see some useful applications for its leafy wing parts
  8. I think you're underestimating the power of Black Friday and Christmas sales. PAB would absolutely impact it if the torso's and shields were readily available. To most of us, we will be willing to wait. But there is enough sway with sales/promotions to get people on the fence to pull the trigger on big sets like the gumball machine. Hell, Prime day was enough for me to finally get Medieval Town Square even though I've been on the fence since it was announced. Can usually find them decently priced on aftermarket. Usually from people who get the GWP who aren't interested in the theme. I managed to get a few Forest Hideouts that way.
  9. Tarrifs messing with PAB standard parts is going to be a pain. I'm really hoping the 4 new faction minifig parts will all get to be bestseller in NA, or else it's gonna be tough getting Krakens and Griffins, or army building Horse and Snake knights.
  10. Love the diorama! Fantastic bone dragon, too. I love seeing giant fantasy creatures. I had a similar idea going on when I got my hands on the Skull Sorcerer's Dragon, and noticed your dragon's head has a lot of similar ideas to what I had made.
  11. Absolutely love the tone of this piece!
  12. Sounds about right if we're using something like Marvel or Harry Potter as an example. But it really depends on Lego and the licensees and their roadmap for what's ahead. I'd love more D&D figs even if my wallet will be hurtin' again. This was the first series that I got a full set of, with many intended repeats on top! And despite having no real urge to get Red Dragon's Inn, I do feel it tempting the completionist in me.
  13. Man, I'm not finding any deals on MTS in Canada. So jealous of those US deals. If only tariffs weren't a thing....
  14. It'll probably be an ingoing license deal, but slow staggered releases since they will probably aim high with big sets and expect fans need time to 'digest' what they already have. Future might follow something similar to recent LotR releases, or how Transformers are being rolled out
  15. I noticed that set doesn't even have the wool piece, which makes it only half a sheep to me. I missed out on them on PAB the first time around, almost threw down $80 to get the barn just for sheep. Luckily I found em on Bricklink for decent price.
  16. If I learned anything from the Town Square leaks, it's that it's better just to grab what you need off brick link/PAB/CMF and fill up your town as you please. No reason to wait for TLG to make your dream come true. I wanted animals in Town Square, like the leaks. I learned to not depend on TLG and just buy some animals. I want a fountain and a statue in the center of town. I want a peasant farm hut. I want more guards. I want more bandits. So I just looked at various mocs for ideas, PAB and BL the parts then made my own Unless there's parts or minis you really can't get, don't bother waiting. Parts only get pricier over time, not cheaper
  17. I'd figure a popular line like Ninjago would still be able to carry the tradition. Even with quicker turnover, much can be done to display a full wave diorama style. That being ssid, it would probably be costly in man hours for something that is 'cheaper' digitally today.
  18. I meant the tradition of making large scale diorama scenes of their themes/sets for promotional material. They don't really do that any more.
  19. This particular pamphlet was one of my favourites that I lost days of time looking over. I wish Lego would bring back this tradition.
  20. Prolly $30 for a raised baseplate.
  21. Introducing new parts has nothing to do with this though. Those parts would be used in other sets, abd have their own pricing relative to the volume of production and the cost effectiveness of keeping them in storage during and after production cycles. Like the bardings in LKC are unique to a single large set and aren't being mass produced at the same scale as Ninjago new molds, thus prices will differ despite using the same plastics and techniques. You scoff at limited storage containers but each one used to store an out-of-production piece is one that isn't being used by modern sets. Let's factor how many new molds will need storage vs pieces that get phased out. Keeping old parts for the minority who demand it is not cost effective, and the buyer pays that price. Supply and demand is the first thing taught in economics, and this is exactly what this is. That being said, Lego still has control over that supply and could make bardings dirt cheap if they introduced them into more sets, just the way Black Falcons became cheaper as they appeared in more sets. Why do they only make a goat of one color in one set and not a dozen? To get people to buy the one set. It makes the set less valuable if you could freely PAB that unique piece and bypass the set. They are a business, and so of course they will control supply and demand as much as they can. They want people to buy sets over parts.
  22. Infrastructure. Costs of storage. Costs of transportation. Costs of materials. Costs of Molds. Cost of machinery maintenance. Supply vs Demand ( why some parts become bestsellers and some not). Like anything that isn't a bestseller comes from Billund, and those pieces are shared around the world. So the cost is relative to how those parts can be made available to get to your doorstep vs putting that same piece in a set that you aren't buying from the stores. Like a simple hat can be $0.50 if mass produced and readily available or if from a $200 set a dingle hat could cost $10. There are numerous factors going into raised costs of individual parts. I don't think Lego is intentionally gouging the printed chicken market, it's just that they're not being produced in a capacity that makes it affordable for the region. Kinda like how price of a carrot in different cities can be wildly different based on supply, demand, inflation, standards of living etc. There's no one answer, and explaining economics is never simple.
  23. I have more than enough classic horses to spare. I just wish they would make an updated white horse (with reins, not the one from the one marvel set) and black horse so we can get more variety than just the reddish brown and tan ones.
  24. It is One Piece, the best selling Manga of all time in Japan. Famous for its lighthearted adventure and solid story, while the artstyle is an acquired taste. The sets are based on the live action adaptation on Netflix, Season 2 premiering 'soon'
  25. Probably more like a fantastical version of the tribal barbarians from the 13th Warrior. Sorta like barbaric tribes of Roman times that survived into Medieval era.
