  1. Hi i am confused. I just took a look at the 10179s inventory and found out that many expensive parts are available in similar or different colors a WAY cheaper. That is not surprising per se but many of those parts are unseen INSIDE the MF. Fore example the yellow technic angeled brick or the 1x16 technic beam in lbg. Why not order them in black and save 100€$£? Of cause its hard to change parts from the exterior, especially the radar dish. I personally dont vare much about getting a 100% correct MF i want the building experience. Who cares if half of the telephone pieses are not dbg but lbg? They are greebes, so i dont care. Anybody of you tried to BL a non 100% correct Mg 10179? Dino
  2. Hi if you woulf have posted this 6 month ago, it would have been a rumor ;) Dino
  3. Hi i hope thats a joke or meant ironic. I hate parents telling Lego could be "damaged or broken". No! Its just dismanteled. That never a reason to glue Lego. If you do so you dont have understand the Lego idea. Dino
  4. Hi i had the same problem and decided easily to go with the 6209. Its almost the same model as the newer one It has much better colors, looks more rusty and worn. The 8097 looks "brand new" regarding the colors. I am a sucker for sandgreen ;) You can easily get the latest Boba fig from the desert skiff I got it for just 62€ MISB Dino
  5. Hi you better use two tan cheese slopes instead of the 1x2 cheese for the breasts. :) Dino
  6. Hi The number of people who think you are an amazing and funny Technic designer: +1 Dino
  7. Hi i really like your small and powerful car. But your hamster again is outstanding :) Dino
  8. Hi are those new set avaiable for May the 4th sales? I am going to buy most of them but would like to kombine it to get the Revan fig. When are they available in the EU? Dino
  9. Hi i was looking for hints being a fake Revan fig. Its too good to be the truth. But i did not find a single hint being a fake custom fig. Maybe except the "lot-number" which is 02B4 Does anybody seen this number on similar bags? Maybe the faker just forgot that to edit. Does all polybags have such numbers? Dino
  10. Hi thanks for the speederbike sailbage comparison pick - its defenitely gives a laught :) We should reuse the pick in any case of discussion if somebody talks about UCS *SCALE*, its meant more detail-level than scale/size. Dino
  11. Hi its not silly, its totally different! For one hArrison Ford get a bruise by running into a camera man in the second million people died. One is FICTION, one is HISTORY. And this histoy is far nearer than any other warfare where Lego is producing sets of, e.g. medieval sets. Even the (medieval) countries never existing in this state anymore as they had been when the war was an actual thing. The WWII countries are still there and we still have issues because of this last WW in Europe here (e.g. former Yugoslavia, Ukraina...) Im happy Lego never will produce that kind of sets. Dino
  12. Hi it depends on the parents and what they teach their children about war. My kids will defenitely NOT loving them plus i would never buy this for them. I can understand that in some "US households" where real weapons are part of the normal life kids will love that. If "daddy" gots a real gun, why not having them weapon playset? Its all about education, and i, for my part am against them. Edit: I guess you will hardly fing EU citizens suporting weapons and war stuff as some in the US and/or Canada do. Dino
  13. Hi but i understand. This one has a smaller scale than minifig scale. They would not fit good into the room or through doors. The mfs are mostly THE sellingpoint for playsets. Dino
  14. Hi defenitely one of your smaller UCS but one of those that shows in a good way that size doesnt matter. They next level of detail sailbarge would be one of the size and building style of MB sandcrawler. But for what? It would be still big brown and ugly ;) Just to give us something to laugh: Can you please post an image of your speederbike close to the sailbarge :) I never get disappointed looking in your topics. Dino
  15. Hi two things: Background and lightning. Keep you backgroundS as clean as possilbe, white, grey or black. Second: Whitebalance your images. Dino
  16. Hi thats a slap in the face for anybody who stated there HAVE to be a Lars homestead or something. Even the Tusken many people wished are not there. Its JUST the SC with alomost the same fig set as the original set had. I like the shape and size and i never ever expected something similar or even close to see as the MB UCS that "won" Cuusoo. THAT thing is for freaks! Where the Ewok Village is a set bought for the figs the SC is not. Its maybe a brown parts pack too - an expensive one. While i am living in Germany i think i have to pass on this. We never get discounted D2C sets, or just a handfull at 30% off that are sold in minutes... I like it and would be happy to have this, but on the other side its a huge brown teapot for 300€. I will save this up for the rest of OT sets this year ;) Dino
  17. @arc: Did you wonder why your snow is not white but grey instead? Automated exposure algorithms of all cameras expect all intensity values to be in mean "grey". So whites mixes up with blacks to a grey. If you have more or less JUST white, the white will be umderexposed and becamre grey. White and bright images always have to be overexposed manually to get them realistic white in the image. Dino

    UCS AAT

Hi my first thought regarding the "wing" was "nice curves but not detail = boring". Then i took a look on the "real thing/studio model": man, it IS boring ;) So Anio, once again a nice UCS. Legos versions got more life because of the printed or stickerd quarter disk pieces. Its imposiible for you to add detail and brick-build the "wing". Did you thought about adding more dark tan to get a worn used look? Where the real thing has detail your has it too! Dino
  19. Hi german customs are very confusing. Basically the taxes and custom fees you have to pay are calculated by the given value of the goods (recipe/bill) and its declaration, what kind of goods they are. So 200€ worth NEW toys can have a custom fee, 200€ worth USED toys not. You also might ask the shipper:seller for a appropiate recipe/bill.... Dino
  20. Hi i worked in real life with hydraulic hoses. So i am a supporter for "IT WILL TWIST". If you just solved your problem mathematical, then you did something wrong in the formula. There are special couplings for pneumatic, hydraulic and electric hoses/wires to support rotation. Dino
  21. Hi i really love EB because its an international forum! But i dislike if people just suggest everything is US-releated. Its not! So my gernan TRU NEVER had these offers, not even close. There are "finds" ans "sales" topics in a specific subforum. You dont like spamming me offers here of all german store you never heard of, do you? :) If i am too harsh: just imagine, i am not an english native speaker ;) Dino
  22. Hi i totally agree with you but distance is NO Lego value to have characters in or not. Best example: The queen and the gungan sub :) Dino
  23. Hi for anyone who wished to get Lars homestead with the sandcrawler: These buildings would be at least as big as the cantine, exterior and interior. But this set is worth 70$€£ alone, left "just" 180-230 republican credits for the crawler. Regarding the other large playsets, DS and Ewok Village, that too less left. So i guess the crawler, 4 Jawas, Luke, Owen, Obi-Wan, C3PO, R2 and 3 other droids. Thats 12 figs at all. Dino
  24. Hi as far as i know ANY canon DSLR can be fired remotely via PC. Just plug in USB and start the provided canon software. You can setup all parameters with that tool too. Dino
  25. Hi timer: Nope, you "cant" use the timer. Every time you press the trigger ON the camera, you will move it a bit. If you do this many times, all your images are missalligned. Thats why you should use a cable or wireless trigger to NOT touch the camera even a little bit. RAW: Shooting in raw gives you 10, 12 or 14 bit (depending on the camera) per color channel, instead of 8 in a jpeg or standard tiff. 12 bit are common, and you got 4096 greyscales (intensity levels) per color channel. If you make an even exposed image that contains all 4096 levels 50% brighter, you stil have 2048 levels left. If you convert THIS onto a 8bit 256 level jpeg, you dont lose any details and differentiations regarding the brightening of the image. 2048 level still dont fit into 8 bit. If you do the same staring with 8 bit, then only 128 levels are left. You LOST detail, you cannot tell anmore some levels are brighter/darker than others, because they became the same. With raw source material you will be able to manipulate the image regarding whitebalancing, exposure, contrast, sharpening, noise colors in a high and professional way without losing details. You do that with a raw converter, Adobe Camera Raw and Adobe Lightroom are two of the many. With yellowish "studio light" you will need to whitebalance your images. Thats basically substracting A LOT of yellow intensities out of the image. If you do so with 8bit images, you will see that, your yellow reducedareas become totally noisy. Dino
