  1. Hi if you need help in identifying colors you should work on the whitebalancing of your images. E.g the top part looksbrownish to me although you named it dark grey. Put down your parts on a white piece of paper and whitebalance manual in that paper. Most cameras, even the cheaoest can do so. If not, force the flash. Then the camera knows the color tone of the lightsource - the own flash. Flashed images are mostly bad looking because of hard shadows but they produce good color representation. I also would like to ask you to put some other known colors on the paper, maybe red yellow and blue. That helps to "calibrate" the viewers eye, because we all are familiar with that colors. Dino.
  2. Hi it is hard for me to figure out a percentage value that fits for OT-PT / CW. There are so many favtors that keeps me away purchasing CW sets. Most non OT sets are -by intention- OT lookalikes. For example the many X-Wing derivates, i still have problems to name them ;) But on the other hand those sets hav to look simular to OT vehicles. Price: SW sets have been always expensive and coupled with no or small discounts. If i have the money for a 130€ set, it will be 100% a OT set - PT ot CW sets have no price advantage. Last: UCS: Are there UCS sets out that are not OT or PT related? As long as Lego gives "us" enougth OT sets so oong i will not care about the many CW sets focused mostly for younger (than me) builders or kids. Lego IS for kids ;) Dino
  3. Hi thank you for your scientic research! That had to be a lot of work. I am one if the "too much CW etc. - too less OT" guys. But if i have a look at my age, this is quiet obviously. I am a hugh SW fan in general, but mostly a "purist", OT first, PT then followed by... nothing ;) CW is not my style and taste of SW. I think that will be similar to many other older 35+ Afols here. If you grew up with OT, beeing a young adult when PT comes out, you probably never going to be a CW anime fan with age 30+ On the other hand: Lego can not come out every two years with a new set design of the MF. There had to be new content for new sets. Dino
  4. I did that with some sportsfigs sucessfully (the bow, wightlifter...). But for some figs, i am not able to feel the difference: e.g. swimmer and horse rider, both have smooth "hats". I hope the wight would help. Dino
  5. Hi nice creation. I like it that you added the golden top to have more detail and variation. Do you think that it would be possible to use on some side elements hinged 1x2 bricks with grillie pattern? Those pyramids are worth to be in the architecture line but on the other hand they are unfortunately quiet "boring" looking. Also the build is quiet simple. Dino
  6. Hi KimT.... hmmm :) Should WE know him? Dino
  7. Hi i think the Maersk ist hard to compare with the EN, because it is a licensed set. If the license goes 2 or 5 years i not influenced by other non-licensed sets. So it could be possible that the Maersk will stay up to the end of the Horizon Express... Dino
  8. Hi very nice! What was your source for he most dark blue parts? Dino
  9. Hi for the 7wide i miss a red moving light right n the front ;) Dino
  10. Hi yes, buy it. I had the same problem like you, loving the GG but did not have the budget for it (here it is around 500€, more than 1000 if MISB). I got my HH last week, with double VIP points, so i guess it can not be better. Because like mostlytevhnic i do not see any discount happen. Dino
  11. Hi thank you fore sharing those data. This is something i have in mind for my Oylmpic GB minifigures. I am pretty bad in feeling the packets, and i was only able to specify those who have larger acessories. At the moment i do not have acess zo a good scale. What kind of scale did you take? Dino
  12. Hi that is really great! I love how you choose the characters. If you look at your choice - it is quiet obviously - there is no other way. The horses, the towers, the Ents... everything fits very very good. Even if you compare the "classes" it still fits: The white side towers are fighting against the black side towers and the white side pawn had to defeat the black side pawns. Dino
  13. Hi they said JUNE, but they do nit said which YEAR ;) To be more serious: I think they had to find out if a Western theme in general is a good thing. Here in Germany western themes are quiet unpopular for kids - and they are still the market focus. Dino
  14. I while the modulars are exclusive, you got them intentionally only via Lego Stores or S@H. But of cause there are resellers thatbare having low volumes of those sets in stock. You can find them in thengerman amazon, sometimes a bit cheaper than directl from Lego (but without german shipping cost). E.g. i found a PS for 144€ and a FB for 127€, but a GE for 199€. I have never seen significant discounts on modulars, that is why i allways oder this stuff via Lego S@H. Do you have family here in Germany where you can send the shipment? Dino
  15. Hi that is really cool, and it looks very complicated to design and construct. Three of the five sides are looking bent to the outside. Is that similar to the real building (i guess so)? Most skyscraper MOCs are typical in the special themes forum. For my taste it is a little bit out of scale to be here. Althought that might be for you not as difficult as the building itself, i really like the treedesign too. Dino
  16. Hi i checked this with the GE Grand Emporium, an i was able to use a german billing adress. But i was not able to setup a non-US shipping adress, although they are shipping in general to Germany. Any ideas what went wrong? Does somebody know where they are publishing their international shipping costs? Without those costs, the GE is 114€ vs 149€ localy. Dino
  17. Hi those MOCs can be found in Special Themes. Just search for Spencer R, my favorite real life building moccer. Dino
  18. Hi that is what allways happen to my cars at first: losing their SNOT bumper. It is unfortunately one of the wealest official connevtions i know. I hope you found all lose pieces. Dino
  19. Hi very creative indeed. It looks very similar o the Grave Digger monstetruck, if you know it. Maybe like a black and white police version of it. Dino
  20. Hi One point each for: 1 9 16 Dino
  21. Hi as i already wrote, the sets are Classic Space (torsosin one color) and Futuron (torsos with color plus white). Dino
  22. Hi my very best friend, but mostly Playmobil guy, found in the attic his CS collection. There are about 15 sets, includind two medium space ships and two moon stations. The sets are from 1979 to 1987 (Classic Space and Futuron). The set have been assembeled once, and mostly nerver dismanteled. By average they are in very good state without much bleaching, but dusty and dirty from the decades. I got the sets to name them, and i did that easily. (My former post, deleted from the forum crash contained all setnumbers, but now i dod not find the written list anymore). His plan is to sell those set and to buy sometimes something he like more (maybe Playmobil :X). I am allowed to play with, to clean them, whatever i like to do. But if i would do so, and sent time in those lovely sets, i will fall in lave with them... Of cause i could return them, my naming job is done, but keeping them for months (after cleaning) would be nice too. But i think i would find it hard to give them back... Any ideas? Edit; Found the setlist: 462 889 6808 6809 6825 6820 6842 6849 6884 6893 6932 6953 6972 6870 Dino
  23. Hi Kristel, did you only used the parts comming from the HH? I will start with my regular HH tonight, and after a couple of days i will start making a modular of it, or at least a un-monstered :) version. I am pretty sure that this set is an awsome base for moccing and or modding, even your are only building alternates without additional parts. I will also aks the replacement service if they are selling to me sandgreen parts to replace the tan brick parts on the walls. Dino
  24. Hi thank you for answering MY questions :) Indeed this is a great forum for Lego - BUT being able to have a topic like this shows how good it really is. P.S. Do not check my grammer - if there is any :) Dino
  25. Hi while this here is no official forum of the Oxford Dictionary Grammar Club :) i may ask the teacher something different. Do your students know you are asking for correct grammar in a Lego forum? If i would be your student and find it out, i would laugthing my #%$£ off :D I really do not want to harm you - just make you think about it. Teenagers can be cruel - ask my wife, also a teacher. But anyway, better to encourage USING english (everyday, written or spoken, amybe here ;) ) than teatching them to speak/write pefectly like a native speaker. Dino
