  1. Ah, that's not only my impression We miss at the moment the last set from january list, Hogwarts Castle: Flying Lesson. Maybe the Charms Class could be also stay there.
  2. It's just my impression or the Charms class is nearly half the dimension of the Potion class? If this is the case, Charms class could be switchable with something in the Flying Lesson sections.
  3. I can already hear the complaints because in a $70 set there aren't 7 Harrys, 7 companions, Voldemort, four or five Death Eaters, two thestrals and a motorcycle . Just kidding!
  4. It all depends on how LEGO would make the Grand Staircase Tower, but I don't think it will be unlikely to see the Dumbledore office occupy a floor in the upper part of the tower.
  5. Oh, I misunderstood what you were writing about In my opinion LEGO will not produce the other section of the street because it would appeal only a percentage of people that already had the D2C Diagon Alley: shops missing, are, by far, a lot less interesting than the ones we already have, with only small scenes taking place in it (basically Harry buying is outfit at Malkin's - and this shop it's on shelf nowadays - and Hermione purchasing Crookshanks at Magical Menagerie). Probably the only really appealing location missing from D2C is Leaky Cauldron and this is a set I'd like to see... of course, I could also create my own moc
  6. Well there's something missing that could deserve a set and something that could return (as Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes or Ollivander): 1) Leaky Cauldron - this is a main location in the Wizarding World and we missed it also in the 75978_Diagon Alley set; 2) Flourish & Blotts is another location with a scene both in Chamber of Secret book and movie; it appeared in 75978_Diagon Alley set with Lockhart and Lucius Malfoy; I don't know how much it's possible considering that Lucius will appear in Malfoy Manor and Lockhart, likely, in the Dueling Club set. 3) Borgin & Burkes while not in Diagon Allet but in Knockturn Alley is another important location. 4) There are also minor shops that were in the past set, like Quality Quidditch Supply, Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour, Daily Prophet, Scribbulus that could serve as a secondary shop in a set. 5) In the far future, it would not be impossible in my opinion to see a smaller Gringotts remake. As long as I know we have no info, but I think that the bigger winter set - Flying Lesson - could be an expansion. And Charms Class could be a switchable set for higher floors as Potion Class is in the undergound section.
  7. Ron is the second male character, the main being Harry and Hermione the main female character. So usually, when LEGO need to choose between them - unless he's in the scene, like Ford Anglia or Aragog - he's sacrificed.
  8. There are also some Diagon Alley Shops images too. Not my cup of tea, anyway.
  9. Well, it seems in the end I guessed what it was... but I'm not happy about it
  10. Any D2C untill now is out of scale, compared to the regular sets. Diagon Alley is as big as the entire castle, Gringott upper part is nearly tall as the Astronomy Tower and The Burrow is taller than it and Hogwarts Express is longer than an entire street. So this won't be a problem even for a D2C Privet Drive. Unless Gringott, that can be put near Diagon Alley, all the other D2Cs set are meant to be exposed on its own. As for what to put inside: the 2020 Privet Drive cost 80$ and was only half the house; just mirroring it, the same as The Burrow, you would have a roughly 160$ set. Give it a bit of front and rear garden, an inflated Marge and you have a 200$ set. Isn't Privet Drive iconic enough? Well, we all know it's not the best place in which Harry lived, but it's in any case his home. It's where you find Harry at the beginning of every book and most of movies (1,2,3,5,7): where he was taken by Hagrid, Dumbledore and McGonagall, where he started to receive Hogwarts letters; where Dobby first meet him, and Ron, Fred and George found him prisoner and free him; then there was aunt Marge inflating and Harry escaping from the house; Arthur and Weasley's coming and the probem with the muggle fireplace in Goblet of Fire; the Order of the Phoenix visited him in OOtP and Dumbledore in HPB; and it's where the Seven Potter Battle starting. And Petunia is who make Harry safe until DH, thanks to being Lily's sister. Not that I want it or I would buy it, but in my opinion Privet Drive is probably iconic enough to deserve a D2C treatment.
  11. They have a taste for money just a consideration, not a critic: LEGO is an enterprise and follows that logic. There's a market for big, deatiled, visually appealing set into very adult black box (sarcasm, I hate black box): people who wish to spend some more money per set for a single iconic set than collect a long series of smaller set (there's also people who buy both, of course). LEGO will probably continue producing them.
  12. As @Accio Lego said, simply comparing the two sets the new Burrow is by far better than the old one. It's bigger, it has more rooms, it has a lot of references - stickers, but that's simply LEGO strategy - and details, it has all the Weasley family in an interesting variant - and Molly is an truly update version of her past minifigures - and from a collectors' point of view and it's also good to expose. If you're into Weasleys, this is probably a must have. Of course, any LEGO buyers can have its own reasons to not buy it - I won't, for example: it could be too big to expose - depending on how much free space you have or how you want your Harry Potter LEGO collection to appear; it could be too expensive; it could be not interesting, if you're not so much into the location or the Weasley family; it could be useless, if you already have the previous Burrow and most of the Weasley, you're not so interested in having new variants and you're good with what you have; and so on (in my case it's a mix of this reasons). It has some minor issues, like the nearly absent living room compared to the old Burrow and the ghoul in the attic and gnomes in the garden tragically absent considering it's a collectors' and definitive edition (but those aren't also in the old Burrow, this is just a personal complaining). There some interesting characters in the old Burrow - Greyback and Tonks, but nothing you couldn't easily find on second hand market. In the end, considering what you say in your question, I would suggest you to bought the new Burrow.
  13. This is surely a well done set, very well done... but it's difficult for me to find interesting - in general - in this type of sets. Somehow too detailed, too moc-ish style, too perfect. And in this case too big for my home An appreciation for the designer and good luck with this set, but sincerelly not my cup of tea. Just out of curiosity, why it's not right for you?
  14. I've seen it now, I'll probably leave a message in the other thread.
  15. Just finished some days ago to build Eldorado Fortress... this is, simply, amazing I've never had a lot of Imperials & Pirates sets, only two little ones from 2009 (Kraken attackin' and Cannon Battle) -so I've nothing to compare Eldorado to - but this theme always enchanted me. Now this set... I built it with my brother and we had a lot of fun! Probably there is something minor fixes to do and in the future I could decided to modify the set, but for me it's already perfect as it is. Now it's almost time, near my birthday, to open and build my present: Pirate Ship 3 in 1. In the future I wouldn't mind some new sets with Imperials & Pirates: another ship or a pirate cove or a treasure island.
  16. In general I tend to avoid buying LEGO set on day one unless there's an interesting GWP. And in any case I prefer looking for better prices than LEGO ones - even considering double insider point. This year I delayed on purpose the purchase of Durmstrang Ship and Aragog sets waiting for the 1st of September. So Durmstrang Ship will be my choice. I'm not sure I will, in the end, buy this collector Burrow, but in any case I'll wait untill the next year, considering I'm not interested in the Weasley Clock gift.
  17. Yes, as you can see on the Back to Hogwarts LEGO page. LEGO® Back to Hogwarts™ | Official LEGO® Shop US
  18. And for Borgin & Burkes: Floo Network - as stated on Stone Wars and on LEGO shop page - the threshold is 130€ of Harry Potter products, while for Draco in the Forbidden Forest is 40€.
  19. The same image, I suppose, is on StoneWars. Revealing is near.
  20. According to exabrickslegogo_ on IG The Burrow will be officially revealed in the first half of next week.
  21. Once I found a skull on the banks of a lake, between some rocks, near the water. I was a kid - probably it was in the end of the Nineties - and it was my first skull. At that time I had only a few small sets: 3 or 4 from town and 3 or 4 from fright knights.
  22. I wouldn't count too much on this LEGO statement to imagine what will or won't be in the new Hogwarts, first of all cause it's, well, marketing and secondly cause, in my opinion, "most detailed" refers more to the general appearance of the castle than to what there's inside. So said, I wouldn't rule out PS challenges from the future sets, even if I see more likely having a small switchable set with the final challenge with Voldemort or a new chamber of secrets in 2026.
  23. In my opinion, we won't see a Borgin and Burkes set to be paired with Diagon Alley and Gringotts simply because we have this GWP that covers half of the things that should be in the shop. Anyway, it wouldn't be impossible for LEGO to produce Borgin and Burkes and paired it with an important missing location: Leaky Cauldron. Put in a transition zone in the middle and a London street on one side, call the set Diagon Alley and Knockturn Alley and you'll probably have a nice set.
  24. Well... just for the music in the video you deserve my enthusiastic appreciation But the building is lovely too. Elegant and graceful, with enough people, furniture and objects to make it alive. Interesting the use of the window lattice in the lower part of the library.
