  1. Love this wave. Great facades, figures and play features, as well as the fact that we finally have an official DH set. It's just staggering to think you'll need to fork over $500 for the entire thing, in addition to $470 for the D2C if it ends up being something you want. Definitely eventual buys for most of these, but... discounts, please!
  2. Whatever happened to the rumor concerning the Vader/Obi-Wan brickheadz set? I thought perhaps that would be the GWP for May 4th but haven't heard anything about it lately, and wasn't sure if it was a normal set, either.
  3. Agreed... except I'd love to see one more version of him with the printed restraining bolt. That version has only ever appeared in the UCS Sandcrawler. Otherwise, it's an amazing minifigure.
  4. Things I like about the trash compactor: 1) The sliding doors function. 2) New printing for Threepio and R2. Things I don't like: 1) Price. 2) Price. 3) Price. Looks like the cons outweigh the pros. Honestly, I really don't know what to think of these diorama sets as a whole. They're by and large good looking sets, but if I get these first few, I'll probably become a completionist when they inevitably release more. That sounds expensive.
  5. Oh good! I would much prefer a playset to two more buildable figures. Thank you for the info.
  6. You're leaving out (perhaps on purpose) the possibility of two more buildable figures, which I believe Promobricks or StoneWars surmised they could be. I would gladly take any of the possibilities you put forth - minus a Quidditch Pitch - but I would guess the Durmstrang Ship would be most likely. No idea when we'll hear about it.
  7. I just visited Promobricks' 2022 novelty list... it still has a blank space for 75337, nothing about an AT-TE. All I see is price, piece count and release date. Am I missing something?
  8. Yes, there were fourteen figures in action poses around the field, held in place by the long transparent bar pieces. Display wise it was great... but back to my point, I think you make Quidditch sets to play with, and you can get as much fun out of a $40 set as you would a $470 set, and the display aspect of a large one doesn't justify itself at a high price point in my mind. But, that's just me! That looks really good! The model I saw was considerably larger... like make four of yours and quadruple the height of each tower and you're getting close. I could see a larger Quidditch Pitch similar to your digital model at a lower price point than $470 selling well if people really wanted a full model.
  9. I was at the BrickUniverse LEGO convention in OKC this past weekend. Someone actually made a giant, minifigure scale, 10,000+ piece Quidditch pitch and had it on display, complete with all towers, dozens (and dozens) of figures, and basically every detail you could ask for... and it still wasn't something that convinced me, "Hey, I think I'd buy that if LEGO made it." Anything smaller would be a letdown as far as not being minifig scale, and anything the size of the model I saw would be far more expensive than $470 (think $1000+). I think the version LEGO made in 2018 makes the most sense for what people are willing to buy. For me, its greatest merit is its playability, and the display presence just isn't compelling enough to make it a large set. Not saying an enormous QP is impossible of course, just that seeing one this weekend gives me serious doubts LEGO would ever do anything on that scale.
  10. The guy has had lots of rumors and zero vindication so far. I will not believe a word he says until that happens, if ever.
  11. You give me hope! I feel like we've considered all the possibilities for $470, but LEGO has a knack (see the past 2 Mario D2C's, for example) of creating something we never thought we wanted/could exist and making it desirable. All this aside, I do wonder if LEGO reads these forums and just chuckles over all the speculation.
  12. I hope it's the latter... a 16x32 cutoff would be supremely disappointing for me, although I'd probably buy it anyway. I'm still assuming if there is a Gringott's, it'll be the $120 set and not part of the $470 set. With last year's surprises, I've been set up to think the opposite of what I want/makes sense is going to happen.
  13. I am optimistic this is the case, but have learned to temper expectations over the last couple of years. On the bright side, there are so many other high priced sets I am interested in this year, if the $470 HP one is a flop (which I have a difficult time imagining it will be), it's $470 saved!
  14. I know this is going to be said a lot going forward, but I am absolutely dying to know what the $470 set is. There... my cathartic post has satiated my need for information for at least a few minutes.
  15. Here's hoping. Even with that shelf life, as someone else mentioned, so many other interesting sets are probably going to come out in that time period... I know I won't be able to afford them all. It's priorities time, and this castle will be pretty high. LEGO knows what they are doing releasing all this expensive stuff so close together, I suppose.
  16. Awesome. Only problem is, I am also interested in the rumored $470 HP set, $530 SW set, $630 Eiffel Tower, $210 Sanctum Sanctorum, $500 Marvel set... and the list goes on. LEGO will have some hard passes from fans who are interested in all these themes but just can't afford so many large sets in a short time, or perhaps at all even over a long period of time. I wish they'd spread these out.
  17. Agreed, I have difficulty seeing how the trash compactor could fill that price point terribly well. Dagobah will do that easily with the hut and X wing.
  18. He's not doing himself any favors with these corrections. The pieces in the post look legit, but it is difficult to trust him after his waffling.
  19. Excellent! My anxiety has been alleviated. Can't wait to see the windscreen piece they do produce.
  20. That is fair about the A Wing. I did take a look at the transparent pieces in the new space set and I really hope they don't use them. Not only would it be a split screen, the shape in my opinion isn't all that close to the actual movie vehicle. I really do think they'll release a one-piece screen that has never been used before. Problem is, the guy spreading the rumor instagram seems reliable... he's also saying the included C-3PO figure will be drum-lacquered metallic gold.
  21. I did see that. I was under the impression the set would have a brand new windscreen piece unique to the set per Promobricks back in September, which would contradict this info? The size seems about right. I'm really interested to see how they make the set worthy of a UCS slot... I mean the external details don't scream UCS level detail, so maybe something on the interior is greebled like crazy.
  22. Any thoughts on the latest rumors of a new $630 Eiffel Tower? Or is this the wrong forum for that?
  23. Yeah it'd be a bit of a stretch, but I'd think the Nebulon would be a massive build. The greebling alone would easily get you to the proper piece count for $530. Just curious, how much do you think a proper UCS Nebulon would sell for? As for the interest, it seemed like there was enough of a niche which voted for the set in the Ideas poll, but obviously votes in a poll don't automatically translate into purchases. Jabba's sail barge or Death Star II are definitely plausible, too, and I'd buy either of them in a heartbeat. Endor would be cool too, just seems difficult to envision. I hope we get news soon.
  24. I'm with you, the arena doesn't seem plausible. I'm actually wondering if it's MBS at all. The MBS line has been $350 since they officially named the category, right? So, the price is off for one thing. Most are speculating MBS purely because of the recent pattern, but that has only technically held true for 4 years now (if we're counting Assault on Hoth); it would be 6 years if this year's is indeed an MBS, but that's no guarantee. I'm wondering if it could be the Nebulon B. They had a working prototype back in February of 2020 when they took the vote, so I would assume they've had sufficient time to make a complete model since then. It'd also be a realistic price point for that size model. Endor is definitely a possibility, but I struggle to see how they could fill that price point with enough material. The bunker on its own doesn't seem substantial enough, and I'm not sure a landing pad/more trees/extra vehicles even fills out the necessary piece count for that price point. Completely speculation right now, just felt like thinking out loud.
  25. I have to say I agree. The overall aesthetic feels somewhere between haphazard and just plain unsightly. Between appearance and price, this an easy pass for me.
