Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Anyone notice the crank protruding from gold cylinder on the top of the engine? I wonder what the function there is. -

I'm waiting to see official release pictures to make a final judgement on quality. Those will give us a better look at the scale of the interior and overall set and any hidden details we cannot see at the moment. So far, though, I love the set. It's a shame it had to leak this way, I think it has spoiled many people's first impressions. I will be 100% picking this up. I love detailed trains and Harry Potter - what more can I ask for? -

The train looks fantastic. I would have expected more of the station, though. The figs look great, too. I can see why they only included one cart... adding on another would likely make the thing roughly 65 inches long - longer than the Titanic and likely about as expensive. Not sure I'd be up for that, as it wouldn't add much other than more display presence, which it already has a great deal of to begin with. -

Oh definitely. Such a high price point, with the only possible set/scene they'd appear in, it'd be a shame and a shock if they were left out. I wouldn't put it past LEGO to make their figs a GWP polybag or something only available with the train -

Local LEGO store here in OKC, Oklahoma is cleaned out of the Forestmen GWP. I'm not sure what the sentiment elsewhere is, but I find myself lacking much motivation to get the Castle anytime soon without the GWP. It's strange... I thought I was more excited about the castle itself, but I think it was more the combination of the GWP and the Castle than anything else.- 2,976 replies

Yeah, I really hope we don't get four more moments books, but maybe they're more popular than I realize. -

It wouldn't surprise me. The release date is just over a month away on August 31st. I feel like we're definitely in reveal territory going forward and hope we see something soon! -

Oh, absolutely I hope there's a full interior. I won't buy the thing unless the interior is accurate and accessible. Huge factor for me. -

That was my first thought when seeing price and piece count. This thing should be massive and I can't wait to see it. I'm also thinking alongside of Slave 1, this will be the rare UCS Star Wars set that's both minifig scale and relatively swooshable. -

New rumor from BriQ Foundation's YouTube channel is the UCS Hogwart's Express is set to be released August 31st. I'd guess we'll see official pictures in about a month or so if that is true. -

7/12 and 7/13 might be the best last chance to get the UCS AT-AT at a good deal if you're LEGO VIP. It's probably the last double points promotion before the $50 price hike. If you've been on the fence, I'd pull the trigger now. -

Very, very late to the conversation, but I get more intrigued by the $500 D2C by the day. What are people's best guesses as to what it might be? -

Just noticed, Marcos and Evanna did their building portion of the Warner Bros. Studios tour during LEGO CON right smack in front of the Hogwarts Express in King's Cross Station. I wonder if they are hinting at something... -

I don't think I'll have the funds to do it, but I wonder if someone bought two copies and did some finagling they could create a larger castle with a decent courtyard to house a large army, etc. The lack of an inner courtyard in the set is the only major flaw for me.- 2,976 replies

This will be a good addition to my collection, but it feels too small for $130. I never had the chance to pick up the 2013 model, which is probably the biggest reason I'll end up getting this one. It feels a little bit like when the Tantive IV came out back in 2019. I hadn't gotten either of the previous models, and while the new one was pretty underwhelming, I got it because I wanted a Tantive IV in my collection. -

It looks wonderful! I'm so happy the whole thing closes. Can't wait to see the review videos come out eventually so we can get a better look at everything, especially the views of the outside once it is closed.- 2,976 replies

If tomorrow truly will bring us the Lion Queen's Castle reveal (and Sanctum Sanctorum, AT-TE, etc.), I am amazed at how well LEGO has done in preventing images from leaking. I'm going to do my best to stay off certain sites that have a tendency to leak said images. Only about 24 hours now...- 2,976 replies

Same here; if you can leak pictures of the figs, you should be able to leak the whole set, right? It's only a matter of days now anyway, so no huge disappointment. -

Thank you Same to you. Huge LOTR Lego fan, I really hope they bring the line back. And yeah, I hope people come around on the Landspeeded. The stigma is unfair. Cad Bane looks great, but no way am I buying this set. Gotta save up for the Eiffel Tower/Knight's Castle/Hogwarts Express/Razor Crest/AT-TE/... ah what difference does it make, LEGO is already bankrupting me anyway -

I just finished building the UCS Landspeeder and here are a few thoughts: 1. Aesthetically very pleasing. The windshield and exposed engine are the highlights. 2. Solid. This thing won't break easily. 3. A great build, even with the mostly straightforward brick-stacking. Building the engines was wonderful. 4. I wish they'd had a small side-build for Luke's rifle. It would have been very easy and hardly added any pieces. 5. I also wish they'd included a removable panel of sorts to reveal the guts of one part of the speeder. That might be a fun mod project in the future. 6. Its existence is absolutely justified. It really does look great and has a fun build. I'm already looking forward to the UCS (probably) Razor Crest! -

I'm neither worried nor excited. I don't care. After last year, I'm not wasting my time on LEGO Con. I'll see the pictures of the Castle eventually whenever they are released and that'll be just fine.- 2,976 replies

Is it a stretch to assume the portraits will all be stickers? If so, not too desirable for me unless Hermione is a really good variant. -

mirkwoodspiders replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think it's a valid concern, but I'm not too worried either. Thinking of something like the AT-AT, it only got maybe 10 minutes of screen time in ESB, then about 5 seconds in ROTJ, but that was enough to gain massive popularity. Not saying the Razor Crest is anywhere near as popular, but it has plenty of screen time, is connected with what I think is a good story/good acting, and is also a good-looking ship with potential for a strong display presence and an interesting (and possibly minifig scale?) interior. Barring something incredibly off-putting in the design or piece count, I'm confident I'd pick one up if they do release one.
