  1. Excellent advice, thank you for the votes too. Thank you also for noticing all the changes to the Stonemasons Guild. The scaffolding was quite fun to design. I realized that building it with variations was essential for a smaller project like this. I love the oven too, it was a last minute addition. I love the belfry idea (I've already got some thoughts swirling on it), and I already have a guildhall sketched out (in pencil) as a possible BDP 10 project. This is true, but I'll leave that to the dozen other builders who are excellent at faction castles :)
  2. Sure, happy to help. Also, one question for any reader - I read all feedback, can you help me: What direction should I take my MOCs for BDP 10? More iteration on these themes? Or something brand new? My goal is mainly to contribute to the world of Castle with something new that TLG would never do, but something that adds depth and richness to the world of Castle. Thanks!
  3. This is addressed by Alex in the webinars fairly frequently. As long as you don't use religious iconography (cross, crescent moon, etc.) you can submit them.
  4. A few updates, you can support my BDP 9 projects here: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-9/main.page?s=arselus Here is the most updated Medeival Cathedral, and a complete redesign of the Medieval Stonemasons Guild, both are in BDP 9!
  5. Designed this a few years back, just wanted to share: my mini Sopwith Camel:
  6. Lovely update of the dragon boat!
  7. Hi Eurobricks community, I wanted to share my BDP Series 8 submission: the Medieval Cathedral. I've been working on this idea since BDP 1, submitting to series 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, and now 8. The Cathedral is now nearly complete! You can support the project here: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-8/2731/Medieval-Cathedral
  8. For anyone interested, I've posted the BDP 7 version to Rebrickable: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-214984/arselus/medieval-construction-site/
  9. Thank you for the support! I'm happy to contribute something to the castle community.
  10. This is a great submission MontyMatte! I love the unique building techniques for the walls and arches. Best of luck!
  11. Thank you so much - I really appreciate the kind words and support. Yes, I do, this was back from BDP 6 (posted in a Brickset.com article here: https://brickset.com/article/114150) I'll create an updated one that includes BDP 7 at some point too:
  12. Hi Eurobricks forum, This is my submission to the Bricklink Designer Program Series 7: The Medieval Construction Site, if you like the build please support it here: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-7/2296/Medieval-Construction-Site I designed this wanting to add something unique to the world of Castle, and wanting to delight Castle fans. We have many excellent castles, large and small. There are also many excellent cathedral MOCS, but typically they are more suited for expos, and too large for the average builder or fan. I have been working on this Medieval Stonemasons/ Construction Site concept for several years, hoping it would be a good centerpiece for many different medieval towns. Back in BDP 6 I wrote an article for Brickset about the design process: https://brickset.com/article/114150 As for scale, the scale was set to the Medieval Town Square. As regard the Lion Knights Castle (which feels more like a keep) - Cathedrals were often the same height as smaller castles at their nave. For example the Tower of London is 27m, Burg Eltz 35m, and Chartres Cathedral is 37m. I hope you like the build, please vote!
  13. Thank you again for the feedback and views! I did continue to iterate and submitted the project to the Bricklink Designer Program Series 5, you can support here: [Medieval High Street] [BrickLink] Final part count is ~3100 with full interiors. The scale and style of the buildings was intentionally set to bridge the gap between the Medieval Town Square and Medieval Blacksmith. The goal is that you could get all three (Town Square, Blacksmith and High Street) and create a single medieval town. 14. Excellent build, nice use of textured and smooth surfaces. Any chance you can show the dome structure/technique?
  15. Great build. Really smart use of the Harry Potter windows. Lots of custom elements in here. Are the food tiles custom? And the chair cushions?
  16. Thank you! Great advice, this is really helpful for planning, as giving it a critical look and comparing to existing offerings is really difficult for the person designing (too much heart involved)! I’ll keep iterating!
  17. Thank you! That’s exactly the type of feedback I’m hoping for. I have some more ideas on improvements, but I’d love to keep hearing feedback.
  18. As many have pointed out, this is truly excellent. If there was a way to replicate it without using so many parts/elements, it would be great. As it stand currently, due to part count and the complexity of executing this in stud.io, I think I couldn't use the technique.
  19. This is the Medieval High Street, mostly it is a labor of love. This MOC combines portions of three of my previous MOCs (Medieval Butcher, Medieval Library, Medieval Miller, all designed back in 2021 and submitted to Ideas) and several small builds (vineyard, tree, barrel) to create the "High Street" of a medieval town. I started working on this in 2022 but left it behind. The recent announcement of the Medieval Town Square spurred me to try my own hand at a similar scene. The nice home on the left is a nobleman's house, the house on the right (red with tan thatch) is a trader's store and house. The tower in the center is the town watch. Many of the elements included do not exist in these colors (it uses the "Main" palette in Bricklink Studio). At some point in the future (some version) of this might appear on Lego Ideas or in the Bricklink Designer Program. More renders are on Flickr and I'll probably keep posting updates to IG. Contains 3600 parts, no interiors yet. What do you think? What should I change, add or remove? If this ever appears in a program like the Bricklink Designer Program, I'd love to have some input from the EB community to make it better. 20. Thank you very much, the architecture of the tower was really fun to design. I love medieval architecture. Thank you, it gives it a Roman-ruins feel, I could see someone reading a book (or scroll) somewhere around there. I also love the minifigures repurposed as statues. Thank you, yes I agree, this makes it particularly fitting for a medieval build.
  21. Please support on LEGO Ideas! Hi Eurobricks, I present my newest addition to my Medieval Artisans: the Medieval Library. It is inspired by Romanesque and English Gothic architecture, and is currently up on LEGO Ideas. Please support the project if like it. It is 2700 pieces total, and has a fully detailed interior. As a "thank you" to the forum community here, I'm also posting a picture of an "alternate" version of the same build, that looks more like a medieval church bell tower. I hope you enjoy! 22. Please support on LEGO IDEAS: LEGO IDEAS - Medieval Castle: Guarded Grocer The medieval village grows! Welcome to the Guarded Grocer! The Forestmen have returned, hearing Robin's call for help. They've raided the Grocer and taken the Black Falcons by surprise. Robin has been freed from his long captivity (in the tower) and the Forestmen are busy at work to return the turnips, carrots, cherries, pumpkins and lettuce to the people. "These vegetables belong to the people!" -Robin "Huzzah!" -The Forestmen "We'll be back to collect taxes!" -The Black Falcons "Give me a break." -The Grocer This build inspired by the classic castle theme and classic sets like (6067) Guarded Inn and the (10185) Green Grocer. The build contains 2866 parts total. Please leave comments and feedback about what you like and what you'd like to see in future builds. 23. I've got a new project up on IDEAS that I'd like to share: the Medieval Miller (Windmill) Please support it here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/b71ea9c0-aedc-48f8-9e11-bf80fac2eb10 Medieval Miller (Windmill) [LEGO Ideas] by arselus, on Flickr The story of the Forestmen continues... Come visit the Medieval Miller. He works hard by day at the windmill, milling the village wheat and making flour. His wife bakes excellent bread (she is also featured in the Medieval Butcher Ideas set). In fact, his life was very plain and simple, and has been so for many years. But one strange and stormy Saturday night, a mysterious seagull carrying a written note found his way to the top of the Windmill. "Captured, captive, need help. -Robin" the note read. Reading the note, the Miller was spurred to action. He immediately began drawing up plans to reunite the Forestmen, find Robin, and launch a daring rescue.
  24. This is awesome povoq! Thank you for sharing. Are you targeting the $150-200 USD price range? Congrats - so exciting!
  25. I agree, those black falcon flags are great. I bet we get some (1?) in the creator castle set rumored for summer 2021. I would also love the forestmen's hat in red - we can only hope. This is a valid point - I thought about that a bit, but really wanted to do the stone work, and also wanted to have the character be a carpenter. So I tried mixing. I've seen brilliant renditions of stonemasons: (Andhe's work on Flickr, I'm sure he's known..) Until I can create something original, I wouldn't want to copy this stonemason (which I think is totally great.) I agree with this logic too. That deer head sculpt is clearly for a kingly castle, though thematically the Lion Knight Sheriff doesn't approve. I would so hope for a series of medieval artisans, that Brickfanatics article (that I think interviewed Wes and Austin) really pointed to it. Seems Wes has already asked some of their leadership if they could do something like this, a series of Medieval Modulars.
