You noticed that huh ;) The whole point of this MOC and Ideas entry is to get that flag reprinted :) JK, but it really would be awesome to have that. Thank you all for the support!! It's nearing 2k supporters now.

Lego Ideas Support Thread - Historical/Castle
arselus replied to leafan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I've got one more to add, it's been on Ideas for a few weeks now, and steadily gathering support. The Medieval Carpenter. The backstory is that he used to be one of the Forestmen (along with the Medieval Butcher), and now lives a more quiet life - until Robin is in need :) LEGO IDEAS - Medieval Carpenter Medieval Carpenter (LEGO Ideas) by arselus, on Flickr Medieval Carpenter (LEGO Ideas) - The Carpenter - Scarecrow by arselus, on Flickr Medieval Carpenter (LEGO Ideas) - The Carpenter by arselus, on Flickr Medieval Carpenter (LEGO Ideas) - Workshop by arselus, on Flickr- 532 replies

Thank you for 2000 supporters on LEGO Ideas! As a "thank you" I was trying to create a poll to gather input for my next Medieval MOC, but as I read here (How to Make a Poll - Forum Information and Help - Eurobricks Forums) I need to be "Knight" rank before I can create a poll. If any "Knight" is willing to create a poll for me in this thread. Either way, please help me pick the next project: 1. Medieval Scriptorium 2. Medieval Wool Trader (Clothier) 3. Medieval Mill (Windmill OR Watermill) 4. Medieval Town Gate 5. Medieval Bakery Thank you again for 2000 supporters!!

Thank you! I say go for it! More medieval builds is a good thing! :) Yes it’s really a beautiful town. Thank you!

Hi EB, I've come up with a new medieval modular-style build: the Medieval Carpenter, I'm posting some renders here, as I think you'll like it. The Medieval Carpenter uses the same basic formula as my other recent project, the Medieval Butcher. It includes: the carpenter's work shed (or "shop"), the carpenter's house (built in a completely different style than the butcher's house, and inspired heavily by Rothenburg ob der Tauber), and a vignette of the carpenter working on a deer head wooden sculpture. See if you can spot some Forestmen eastereggs :) If you like the build, please support on LEGO Ideas! Fantastic!! I love the colors and roof technique. What is your total part count?

Agreed - great adaptation. I love the stone abs wood under structure.

I'd like to add my medeival thatch roof technique to this thread as a "thank you" for helping me to reach 1k supporters on LEGO Ideas, for my project: the Medieval Butcher (LEGO IDEAS - Medieval Butcher) Here is a link to the thatch roof technique "how-to" on FLICKR: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmUDoe5c And a sample render:

I'm plugging my own project here: The Medieval Butcher A lighthearted and imaginative build that introduces the new building technique of the "thatched roof". I've gotten over 600 supporters in one week, thank you! Please help me keep momentum to reach 1000! Please support the project on LEGO Ideas here: https://ideas.lego.com/s/p:be447ef0c1e949e0b1274fed3f0fd022?s=m Medieval Butcher by arselus, on Flickr More photos on Ideas and Flickr. Yes - all good points. This is meant to be silly and fun anyways! Thanks for the support I've received on EB!

Great detailing! I really like the fence work! I’ve never seen that technique before.

Sorry about that Ogist - I didn't mean it to be serious! I just wanted to use the LEGO turkey and pig in a creative build to be honest. Maybe I can add a storyline where the butcher has a change of heart and helps the animals escape! (BTW, that's the reason the cow is walking away) Thank you - yes, these were some of the most fun parts to design. And yes, the brick-built animal heads are very fun. Reminiscent of early 1990's sets. Thank you so much!

Hello EB, I'm fairly new, I wanted to share this project as I thought you'd like it. Hope you enjoy! I was interested to see the Brickfanatics article that mentioned a possibility of modular medieval sets, possibly coming from the Ideas pipeline. I expanded an earlier (and smaller) build (Small Medieval Market Village), and created the Medieval Butcher. The first component that I designed was the thatch roof. I was trying to create something unique and new. I was inspired by Namirob's unique roofing approach in his original Ideas Blacksmith project, and Wes and Austin's comments in the designer video, especially regarding the roof design. The end result is a butcher shop, house, and well, consisting of 1919 pieces that is inspired by many different sets and eras of LEGO Castle. For me, Forestmen and Lion Knights always play an inspirational role. (6067) Guarded Inn provided an inspiration for colors. (10193) Medieval Market Village and (7189) Mill Village Raid provided inspiration for the "village feel". Classic sets like like (1547) Black Knights Boat provided the inspiration for brick-built animals and animal heads (cows, pig, ravens), which are such a fitting medieval detail. (21325) Medieval Blacksmith provided the inspiration for the baseplates. I think (10270) Creator Bookshop's birch tree is one of the best designed LEGO objects of all time, so I emulated its design, but went more brick-built (less technic) and brought it into spring (not fall). My guess is at least one Lion Knight and (hopefully) one Forestman.

Excellent! Love the caving in roof.
