Yeah, Blacktron-Monorail! But a monorail for the Blacktrons to rob would be super awesome, too. TLG had the chance to do this with a Star Wars license for the Han-Solo-Film, but well...

This looks like it's a different gauge: The tracks are spaced 5 studs instead of 4... which makes it incompatible with L-gauge.

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set

More like the mounted messenger with the order has successfully started it's journey to Inner Mongolia. From Billund. Unfortunately because of the Russian-Ukrainian war, he is taking the Silk Road route through Afghanistan.- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
Black Knight replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well, be my guest: Here in Bavaria, we have plenty of those creatures -- and also actual lions! This is the coat of arms of Bavaria: Lots of lions, the "panthier" (this time with his tongue rather than spewing fire!), a crown and some nice geometric forms. Most of this stuff is from the 14th century. But there are other prominent users of the lion, like the House of Habsburg. I'd assume they just took two popular heraldic creatures, the lion and the eagle some bird.- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
Black Knight replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well, where I come from, heraldic "panthers" actually do breath fire (since 1314 A.D.): Of course, back then, no one in central Europe knew a real panther; this "panthier" is simply a legendary creature like a griffin or unicorn. So be at ease: After 700 years, you won't care anymore, too. ;)- 2,976 replies

Ooooh. What king of medieval minifigs are we talking? Build A Minifigure kind ones or like the lion and falcon figs from the actual castle? Don't make me drive to my nearest store!- 2,976 replies

Imho the problem with BlueBrixx is, that you do not know the source of their bricks. Most often it is Xingbao, who sometimes have excellent bricks (e.g. the V100), but mostly they are mediocre. Straight forward building techniques like the ones from the LEGO sets are o.k., but having a submodule hanging on just one stud MOC-style: no way. Recently they have snug in some GoBricks-commissioned sets (like for their Blaustein Castle), which are currently the best MOC-ing bricks you can get. But of course they cannot advertise with their manufacturer, else their business would get dependent on said manufacturer... oh my. On the other hand they offer solutions, TLG is unwilling to give us: Black bogie plates, train wheels that actually do have a metal axle, a rechargeable battery box, chrome bricks etc. And of course train sets, castle sets, pirate sets, sci-fi sets. And they are much cheaper than LEGO.

A review of the first elements from the FX Track system
Black Knight replied to zephyr1934's topic in LEGO Train Tech
You should end up with parts/LGaugeColor/P32L.72.gif (so all the .gif and .xml files should be in parts/LGaugeColor). Unfortunately quite many unzip-tools add some directory when extracting. The files must be in a directory exactly 1 depth below the parts directory; not two, not zero.- 199 replies

Just to be sure: Did you (re-) start BlueBrick after you copied the LGaugeColor directory into the parts folder? It is only loading the libraries on startup. The tabs name should be LGaugeColor btw.- 199 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
Black Knight replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Maybe the reference is to the treasure of the Nibelung: The treasure (originally taken from a Dragon) brings bad luck; basically everyone who ever owned it dies tragically in the Nibelungenlied [The story was much later first recycled by Richard Wagner and later Tolkien heavily borrowed from it]. As this is an old German/Norse story, this would fit well to the Falcon Knights who if any resemble the Holy Roman Empire where the song was written down in medieval times.- 2,976 replies

A review of the first elements from the FX Track system
Black Knight replied to zephyr1934's topic in LEGO Train Tech
If you want to independently control the both loops AND they must be connected via some switch, you must somehow isolate the two loops. The challenge will be the connection: When you run a 9V motor across it, it will temporarily shortcut the two loops which may cause some problems between the two transformators. I personally would advise against that solution and (for now) just power everything with one trafo. Later when @michaelgale comes up with his DCC solution (or the possibility to insert a PFxBrick ..), you will just turn the transformator to full power and control the motors via DCC, Bluetooth or whatever. Copper taping those double crossovers will be hard, because you must avoid shortcuts: The motor bogie driving over the crossover must never touch the "left" and "right" track simultaneously which will be a challenge in the middle part of the crossover! Maybe @michaelgale will give us something even cooler than the R104 switch in some years. *fingers crossed* In the meantime, I think right now the best solution is to buy four R104 switches as replacement and have a ball with them.- 199 replies

Thats 53834 Vehicle Track, Train Rail Ramp 8 x 12 -- it's for kids to put their trains on track. Getting two of those with one set is... only useful if you never get any other track.

Yeah: The Freddy-Mercury-conductor and the flamboyant, pink-haired gal are included!

Those folks indeed look more like from the new CSD-set!

Well, no. You would most probably lose in every court on this planet if you tried to force Emanuele and Martin to stop selling the instructions. Therefore I find it a loss for the community that those instructions now are gone. As you said, Emanuele did not make a clone-replica of your set and even if he did: You did not bother about making any juridical claims on your design upfront. I wouldn't have either: It is very expensive and you would never get that money back, even if you had gone all the way and crafted instructions yourself and sold them. Making those instructions is a tedious and laborious task. And the original design is not yours, you made a model of a historic train. This is also perfectly legal but makes your model a copy itself nevertheless. Creating a MOC is mostly a recreational activity because the demand for them is tiny while the amount of time perfecting them is huge. The thing you can expect from creating a MOC is your own sense of accomplishment and the admiration of us fellow brick-heads. And maybe that could have been a better solution: To include you as the author of the "original" model in the instructions, so you would get your fame and Emanuele and Martin would still get a tiny compensation for their boring work on the instructions (Rest assured that they will never get above minimum wage for their hours spent with the money they earn). I feel sorry for Emanuele and Martin because they wasted their time on making the instructions. I feel sorry for the people who would have loved to have your Enzian on their shelf. But I also feel sorry for yourself Thomas, as you denied your own work to be shown around the world, running on the tracks of fellow hobbyists, getting seen by people who would never had looked at your pictures of it. This is a very sad solution.

[MOC] The German BR 50 with Cab Tender+[IDEAS] need your support

I have to admit that I like Simon Jakobi's BR 50 a tiny bit better. But then again, your Wagner wind deflectors are just so much more awesome than his Witte deflectors! -

Then how about Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express? There is the book and four screen adaptions. And the 241-A-65 from the 2017 film is just awesome!

TLG is just a cold, soulless machine. It neither hates anything, nor can it put it's heart and soul into something. It is just speculating on where the most profit will come from and then proceed to do that. Please don't be so dumb and fall for their ads and videos about how much they care for YOU. That is all advertising. They just want your money. That is fine, that is how business works, but please see it, for what it is. The market for model trains is dwarfed by what TLG does: Märklin has a turnover of 110.000.000 € p.a., TLG has over 6.000.000.000 €! Comparing the EBit would be even worse. Why would anyone at TLG even consider to pick up those breadcrumbs? I consider 10277 already as a huge fan service. TLG probably fired some manager who approved this, because that Star-Wars set they did not make because of the Crocodile would have made soooo much more profit.

Fx Bricks (Michael Gale) announces Fx Track system

@michaelgaleIs it on purpose that you can only pre-order R56 tracks at JB-Spielwaren, while the R104 are in the shop but cannot be (pre-) ordered. JB-Spielwaren unfortunately do not answer on their mail-address for FX-Tracks. -
Well, this is not about TLG customers being rational, this is about TLG being rational. With the current alienation of people (in the west) of cultivated assets, the compassion with those creatures rises and legislation follows with laws for circus animals, not-killing-male-chickens, required-space-for-pigs and so forth. Many people obviously are very emotional about these things, much more than plastic in distant oceans and pollution in distant countries. Therefore I do not expect TLG to produce anything with wild circus animals anymore. The latest circus set (with wild animals) I could find was DUPLO 10503 and 10504, both being from 2013. I personally would buy a circus train from LEGO, this is not about my moral standards; I just expect TLG to follow society's current moral standards. Imagine Greenpeace (or whoever) to protest outside LEGO stores because of the depiction of animal cruelty: That would be a nightmare for TLG much like with the 42113 Osprey. Btw.: The LEGO Idea book 7777 had a very cool circus train.
