  1. Very nice! The bull horns on the front are definitely my favourite detail.
  2. I didn't, but I think it's fairly easy. Just build something with system parts. The only problem then is the connection points, but a pin with pinhole connector on the front and some construction on the back should make it possible. I built something similar in my Scania 140, although without Servo under it, but I had quite a bulky chassis.
  3. Are you going to use bigger wheels? Cause otherwise ground clearance will be very bad. Other than that, it looks pretty good so far. About PU or PF, if you have to buy the PF components, it will be very expensive.
  4. Exactly. On the other hand, the packaging costs didn't affect the Town Truck, which still had a reasonible price. I guess it just ends with speculating about TLG's reasons.
  5. I read an article the other day about the costs of containers. The price raised from 1300 to 13.000 euros, so I can Imagine extra cost for TLG. And of course also chip shortage. But still, this thing seems too bloody expensive
  6. You really can't see any difference on the outside. well done! Also seems pretty fast which is very nice.
  7. Great model! Also love the switch for the PTO and the fact that the bodywork is pretty simple but still very recogniseble and well shaped. Thanks for sharing!
  8. And not to speak of the waste of money and natural recourses used to make this product. It's like buying a car and crash it against the first tree you see on purpose, just for 'fun'. And why would you buy and build a Lego set for the only purpose to destroy it for a Youtube video? Some people in this world are crazy. This kind of vids could really piss me off but I won't put energy in it.
  9. Already downloaded instructions :) now have to wait for 42128
  10. I would love to see an heavy duty European truck, 8x4, two front axles steering, second axle raising, low loader behind it, maybe licensed with Volvo or Mercedes (or another brand) with 49.5 wheels and a price of around €200, which means a piece count of around 2500. As there are so many MOCs out there that answer this description I think the sales would be great.
  11. TLG needs to pay Mercedes, not the other way around. So it's free advertising for Mercedes/Volvo but costs (some) money for TLG, although I don't know how much. Overall speaking, this set is highly overpriced, although I think it looks very good. Hopefully some nice discount pops up.
  12. New day, new update! I have loads of time, because it’s the summer holidays here, so I’m moving pretty fast now. Here are the updates: I’ve reworked the chassis and added a front bumper I’m happy with. (maybe I’ll change the headlights, but for now it’s ok). I’ve also added the exhaust The cabin is coming along well too. I’ve made the ex and interior, and the roof. The exterior has the three windows in the rear of the cab, which is very recognisable for this type of Scania. I’ve also added the roof and the windshield, but not sure if the windshield is staying this way. The interior is also finished. It has two beds, the lower one is ready for the driver to sleep in, and the upper one is filled with supplies. The interior is also fitted with curtains, and the gear stick. Now moving to the front grille, already at attempt number 6, so this will take a while before I’m happy Looking forward to your feedback! Thanks for reading.
  13. Hello all, In this topic I will show my progress on my Scania 140 Super, in Astran livery. I don’t know if you people know this English transport company, but it was the leader in road transport to far-away destinations, first the Middle East, later also Russia, Ukraine and the Balcan. I read a book about this company (now a few months ago) and last week I suddenly got the idea to build a truck from it. As said, it will be a Scania 140 Super. I already made the chassis, with a detailed V8 fake engine, one of the trademarks from Scania. The model is going to have HOG steering, (problably) an openable cab, and details like fuel tanks, roof rack, luggage, interior, etc. Now a few pics to show the original and what I have made so far. The chassis is finished, so now on to the cab, which probably will be the trickiest part. I know the chassis is a bit unconventional build, but I don’t wanna order any extra parts just for this model, that’s also why the middle of the bed is blue. Any feedback is welcome! Thanks for reading. I’m not quite sure if this belongs in Technic or in Scale Modeling, but because this model isn’t a particular scale I think it fits best in Technic Forum. I think it fits best to the Model Team description, even if that isn’t really what this model is.
  14. Hi, A motorized MOC of mine uses the PU City Hub (the one with two ports) and two L-motors. When I'm driving around, after five minutes or so the app lags and doesn't react or only steering reacts. I can move the slider, but the value I read in the dials says that the value doesn't change. In other words, the thing stalles and holds the last value, making my truck drive forward without any possibility to control it. Is anyone else experiencing these problems and has somebody a solution to it?
  15. Great model! The front doesn't look too good (but still good) but I guess that's just part limitation. And many thanks for free instructions!
  16. Looks great, only the rear mudguards look off to me. They are to high above the wheel I think
  17. This set isn’t even officially released and someone already started a b model! Great work! But are there enough panels to make the dumping bed though? To me it seemed that there aren’t that many panels in this set.
  18. Looks cool, but I think you should use less lift arm stacking for the doors imo. Maybe some panel could work (I have no idea what panels are availeble in red)
  19. I agree with you that it may look better without the anthem sticker. Without U-joints the motor should be one stud higher, but it can’t be placed like that because the mechanism for tipping is in the way. The second bevel gear doesn’t click, but I also tried 1:1 gear ratio with 2 12 tooth gears and then it does. I think I’m gonna try to include a bevel frame there. If that doesn’t work I’ll leave it like this.
  20. Hello all, Hereby I present to you my (almost) alternate model from set 42078 Mack Anthem. It's a crane truck modeled after an Iveco X-way. The real life truck is a hybrid between on and off road, or, as Iveco says in their brochure, a truck for the highway that can drive the last miles on dirt. The model is fully remote controlled, using two PU L-motors and one PU Train Hub. These are the only parts that aren't included in 42078. I tried re-using the stickers of the set, that's why the seats, part of the dashboard and the fake engine are almost the same as in the Mack. A nice detail that resulted from this is the stripe on the side, which I personally really like. The functions of the tractor unit are: - Openable doors - Openable cabine with working fake 6-inline engine - opening sides of the tipping bed - two-way tipping of the tipping bed - fully operational crane (design by Technicprojects, a bit modified by me) - Outtriggers - Rear most axle is suspended. Originally the idea was to make both rear axles suspended, but due to the hub sitting on one side, the model became too unstable. The model also comes with a trailer. This one has the following functions: - Pendular suspended front axle - Three-way tipping - Opening sides of the tipping bed The biggest challenge of this model was to fit all the moving elements. The steering system was the hardest part, because the Mack doesn't have a gear rack. Eventually, I made it almost the same as the Mack, but the cost of this is that there is a lot of play on the steering. The drive was a lot easier. I made the drive shaft from the rear axles to the fake engine, and connected the motor by using a bevel gear. The motor is kind of hidden behind the side protection. After I made this, I also had to create space for the Small LA to move the tipping bed. Unfortunately, I couldn't fit the large one, so the tipping power of the tractor unit is limited. Eventually it all resulted into the model you see here. Here is a picture of the underside of the chassis. I made a small start on instructions, but my spare time is limited, so I don't want to waste my time and than nobody is interested in them. So, if there is enough interest, I will make instructions. And btw, if you have any critisism, please say it. I want to learn and improve my Lego skills, so please don't hesitate to share your thoughts. More pictures are on my Bricksafe: https://bricksafe.com/pages/Rebel_Lego Thank you for reading!
  21. Nice idea! I don’t know if it is possible to get it slim enough, but worth trying. Btw, there are at the moment two MODs and Improvement threads for 42128, maybe an idea that @Jim or @Milan put them together?
