Well let's hope that there are some actual buildings in the CITY...
-
Creator set 31387 will be called Legendary Pirate Ship. It will have 1,074 pieces and be released in June.
-
A few more set names have leaked (from r/Legoleak): 60480 Yellow Backhoe Loader 301 pieces June release 60492 Passenger Airplane (4+) 118 pieces June release 60494 Dump Truck and Front Loader 1,132 pieces June release 60506 Beachside Tram June release Blue tram plus a beach build 60511 Retro Steam Train 575 pieces June release Locomotive with tender and one passenger car 60496 Pizza Delivery with Vehicles 494 pieces June release 60497 Automatic Car Wash 583 pieces June release 60510 City Advent Calendar 2026 September release

It's reportedly set 60506, so it should be 693 pieces and reported as "Train" earlier in this thread. The Streetcar from 2024 (#60423) was 811 pieces. Maybe this is a little more old style tram? So the vehicle would not be that big, and there might be some seaside build to accompany it.

I agree, I was more envisioning something like fantasy era Castle as well. Still regular weapons, regular uniforms and so on, only that fantasy creatures also exist. Maybe magical objects.
-
Maybe 60494 ("No information") is a Coast Guard HQ or something? Or would that be counted as Town?
-
I've had some similar thoughts. If a fantasy based pirates theme would appeal more to kids there is a higher chance of getting an actual new pirates line with affordable sets and not only IP's and highly expensive sets. Maybe a tie-in cartoon is needed as well, similar to Ninjago or Monkie Kid.
-
No, I agree. I also think that with Goonies, The Black Pearl, and One Piece-sets on the shelves there is no room for any Classic Pirates set. It's sad that IPs are pushing out retro classic sets. Classic Space sets also seem to be having a bad time.

Professor Kettleburn's (the guy with the wooden leg) torso in 76454 Hogwarts Castle: The Main Tower could maybe be useful:

Tough luck for anyone not close to a Lego store...
-
PaB has been updated and there are some interesting parts like the old type of palm leaf in sand green and the older looking door from 10332 Medieval Town Square. But the most important part is that the bluecoat torsos are still available!
-
Well it won't lead to more Pirates sets, thats for sure.
-
Hmm the lack of engagement in this thread really speaks volumes about the lack of excitement of this from Lego Pirates fans.
-
I'm not that excited for this. Maybe there will be some boat parts that could be useful. Any sails will probably be printed according to the series so that you can't use it for other things though. The one thing I'm excited for is the opportunity to get a somewhat accurate tar hat mould from the main characters straw hat (even though it's not flat on top...).

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes

Right, I actually forgot about the Dreamzzz one, I was quite excited when it came out. Too bad it hasn't gotten more use. It would be nice to get a pirched version though. Would set the mood in a lot of sets. -

It's a bit strange that we haven't got a corvid mould yet actually. -

Ah, so it was a false rumour then. That's too bad. For the rest, I agree with you on all points! -

Which is strange because I remember some time ago there was news that the design lead for the Friends theme was taking over the City theme and everyone was excited thinking that City would be more building focused, but now it seems like we instead just get more vehicles with each year. -
That's true, I remember now I was surprised by that. That gives me hope for the Black (Dragon) Knights.
-
Yeah, sadly I don't think Creator sets get any new prints. The Black Falcons in 31120 were available only because Medieval Blacksmith was released before that.
-
In Sweden it's still available at the internet retailer Toyspace, but they have raised the price since it became sold out at Lego.com
-
Maybe it's a CMF series? Although that's probably unlikely since we get the Pirate Quartermaster in the regular CMF.
-
The Eldorado Fortress is currently 20% off for Lego Insiders members at Lego.com (plus double insiders points, which gives 10% cashback).

Is the "trefoil" modified tile a new piece?
-
If I could guess, the yellow and white of the Lego Pirate's fortresses might be inspired by Fort Christiansvaern in St. Croix, which was a Danish colony until 1817.
