  1. His reveal on the story is so poorly worded I cannot tell whether or not he thinks it is fake or real. He refers to it as a rumor that he hopes is true, but at the same time, it also seems to be a sort of confession that it is not? In any case, I don't know why he thought that was necessary. This experiment has been done multiple times recently, and we know people will pick up nearly anything that looks credible--that incident with Jay's Brick Blog and the Uncharted set comes to mind...
  2. I’m not talking about completionism in this instance. I’m not particularly interested in that since I can’t afford all the sets, so I have no stake in how people make theirs. I’m really more just saying that just because a set looks ugly doesn’t mean it can be discounted from a theme, which is what the previous commentator was stating.
  3. Yeah, I won’t deny he’s got some pretty strong alternate builds, which are actually a pretty neat building style when you consider it. With that said, it’s his homophobia that gets me… In any case, I’m sure we’ll see the actual set list soon, considering Promobricks knows it and tongues have been loose as of late.
  4. I don't think @kuzyabricks was referring to completionism so much in that comment so much as stating that you cannot discount the Brickheadz from being LotR sets simply because you dislike them.
  5. You know, I suppose it isn’t impossible for them to do all the main figures in one set. Lego seems to have become less stingy lately with figures than they were say, 10 years ago, and although I don’t think that has entirely translated to the marvel theme yet, I think we’re getting there. Notice in particular how Lego was willing to include all 9 members of the fellowship in one (admittedly quite large) set, and how they seem to have definitely committed to including all characters relevant to a scene in the HP sets. Now, I would not stake money on this at all, but I think if we really only get one set, there’s a decent chance we get at least the 5 villains and the three Spider-Men.
  6. Oh, I don't necessarily mean they are coming, sorry if that's what it sounded like. I just mean I have seen some people still suggesting the possibility that these are high quality fakes, and I was more asking if that confirms that these are, in fact, from Lego themselves.
  7. At least one of the leakers got a copyright strike. That should pretty much put to rest the idea that these are fake, right? I mean I could be wrong, but I don't know who would be able to do that other than Lego or one of the IP holders.
  8. How did you get this without a watermark?
  9. Are we thinking that the center has a ton of water (1x2 tiles, probably) that allows for the whole thing to be one conjoined piece?
  10. How did he even get his hands on Rivendell? As far as we know, it wasn't in the survey. (By the way, don't want to @ you since I'm sure your inbox is blowing up, but thanks JeanGrayForever, and congrats on becoming the most well loved person on EB)
  11. ….and there’s Rivendell. Looks great, but ima need to see it closer before I decide whether or not it’s 500$ great. Also, I can make out 3 Hobbits, Legolas, Gandalf, and Arwen. There are a couple I can’t figure out, such as the guy on the bridge, the guy on the area behind Gandalf, the one next to Legolas, and the one next to Gandalf. There appear to be three in the background—as far as I can tell, it’s Gimli, Aragorn, and Boromir.
  12. Excellent news, I have been looking to try to get into DC for real. I certainly hope that this is better than the 2020 wave, maybe we can get some solid sets with this. Really, I am mainly just in it for an Arkham build in the same vein of the 2012 one, but there is certainly lots of potential with this. On the other hand, maybe I should temper my expectations some...
  13. Anyone got any wild, speculatory, or delusionally optimistic guesses as to why FalconFan is having a no context DC or Ninjago poll on his story?
  14. I mean this is his second time scooping Promobricks and FalconFan cited him, so I would say maybe(?) we can trust the guy. I certainly wouldn't bet money on him, but I wouldn't bet money against him either.
  15. Oh boy, I am sure this will lead to an entirely healthy and relevant discussion
  16. Huh, first time a one post leaker was actually right. Considering he amended the movie four hours ago, I guess he got it, the only thing wrong being the price. Idk, maybe this was obvious, but unless the Minifigure count ends up incorrect, looks like we may have a bit of a strange scenario on our hands. Or, he just got lucky. In any case, this is really the only set I wanted out of the theme, so I actually am quite happy about this, provided it looks good.
  17. You know, I think I might have switched onto your side. I've never read a single superhero comic, but at this point, other than maybe a couple things (Avengers Compound/Tower, GotG, and Ant Man) I would vastly prefer stylized comic sets to MCU. I feel like we could probably get some rather interesting designs, and I absolutely love the idea of more Marvel modulars, which I'm not sure the MCU can give us many more of.
  18. Not necessarily directly related, but I think I may have finally found the right head for Cobb Vanth: Bryan O'Conner from the new Nissan Skyline.
  19. Provided Flash Tracking really is the 1989 Batmobile, do you think they might use the new speed champions piece being used in the McLaren and Porsche sets? Personally, I am hoping for a new piece, but I think right now that is probably the closest thing we could get. I really quite like the Burton Batman movies, so I have been looking for the right way to build that mobile for a while, and I just cannot find quite the right piece for it.
  20. I would not bank (accidentally terrible pun) on it, but the piece count certainly isn't unreasonable for one or even two buildings in that scale... With that said, you are probably right--the PPP looks too good to be for something minifig scale, and even HP's prices have been getting a bit high for me lately. If we were living in a time maybe a year or two ago, I would jump right on it and assume it's Gringotts, but right now, that seems like something elaborate with bunch of tiny parts put into it.
  21. RoP certainly was not really my thing, but it does appear to have been received at least pretty well by critics--it has got an 85% on Rotten Tomatoes for the critics score, which although is not always the best metric, does mean it was generally well liked by reviewers. I do know what you mean, though--LotR just is not popular the same way other licensed themes are. With that said, I would have said the same about Avatar and Indiana Jones, and both of those are getting a revival in popularity based on a new property, so perhaps I am in for a surprise. You are absolutely right. Take a look at the HP theme--the first thing they did was remake the important sets like Hogwarts, and even their second D2C was just a remake (albeit extremely updated) of the original theme's only D2C. They may not start with Orthanc this time, but if they are doing a full reboot, it, Helm's Deep, and a Bag End are certainly coming soon, especially considering how much they go for these days. You know, I think there is a possibility @Legoman123 may be onto something about D2Cs working best--I honestly could see the theme having a small reboot, but maybe just doing like 1 mega set a year or so, like the modular buildings or something. That would allow for the theme to last for quite a while, give us insanely detailed sets, and target the market that most likes LotR. Obviously it does not solve some things people want such as army building, but I don't think anything short of a Star Wars sized theme could satisfy everything, and something tells me Lego does not want to do that. I would not love that, but I think I would probably be happy with that approach, to be honest.
  22. Oooh, that's certainly scummy, I agree. Thank you for answering. With that said, I think I disagree with @Pop Star c o's statement about Activision being better--scummy corporate practices are not quite as bad as widespread sexual assault, unless, of course there is something far worse that Wizards of the Coast did.
