  1. Alright, the more I’ve looked at the gunship, the more I’ve liked it to be honest. It’s not all upgrades across the board like the AT-TE—there are some things I really don’t love, such as the lack of double doors, the color scheme, and the size, and there are reasonable arguments to be made about the Minifigure quality and selection. That said, I think it’s a vast improvement off of the previous ones, even the 2013. Even though I have some complaints about the Minifigures, I think that both the selection (although there’s a very real argument to make that the first one had the best figure selection) and quality are so much better than the last gunship—it didn’t even have as many clones. In addition, it looks a lot less boxy and a lot more neat. I think this may be a bit like the 2007 vs the 2014 MTT. While the 2007 one is much bigger, this one captures the shape a lot better and looks much smoother than the other one. I feel like this looks much closer to the mocs of the gunship than the older sets looked, and I’ve always had complaints about the doors being too awkwardly shaped. I’m thinking I might get one and then get the pieces to convert it into a regular one, or redesign it in Studio.
  2. I mean, I don’t want to get into a conversation that sounds wishlist-y, but I always have to ask whenever this conversation comes up: realistically, what would a Star Wars CMF be able to cover that hasn’t already been covered? We’ve already got hyper detailed figs for characters such as Boba Fett and Vader, and there aren’t a lot more that need those. I can’t see it being efficient for army building. We’ve got most of the major characters that have appeared in the shows, and most of the minor characters that appear in the movies. We have the 20th anniversary yellow figures from 2019, so not a lot of reason to do classic figures. I suppose there’s no hard law stating that all characters in a theme have to adhere to one theme, but I can’t really imagine a mixture of Cobb Vanth, a Zorii Bliss with arm printing, a 327th figure, a Nien Numb, and a classic Boba Fett. There is never going to be a way to please everyone or make a perfect CMF, obviously—I love the new Marvel ones, but I can absolutely understand the desire for more comic designs in it. With that said, I really don’t see the need for a Star Wars one or any way to appeal to a majority of the audience.
  3. Excited to see the new wave, but I’m mainly interested in the X jet—I’ve never read a Marvel comic before, but I love the designs. Also, I’m gonna say that this series is vastly superior to the previous Marvel CMF. I feel like Minifigure quality wise, there’s only one major flaw, which is to say that that Hawkeye looks pretty bad. That said, I think other than that, the series is amazing. We’ve got several more figures on par with the most detailed ones in the last one—just Vision and Cap Falcon had side leg printing Iirc, whereas we She Hulk, MK, Wolverine, Echo, Bill Foster, and maybe WbN seem to have it here. I’m not keeping up with modern Marvel, but I’m actually thinking about getting several of these even without having seen their shows.
  4. You know, I’m most intrigued by the Skeleton Crew set. We’ve seen almost nothing of the show so far, with the exception of a couple pieces of concept art showing the back of the ship. The minifigures might be nice, but so far, I’m just very curious as to how it will look, and if it’s good, I might actually just get that one.
  5. Is anyone sort of shocked we haven’t seen a carbon freezing chamber diorama yet? For what is arguably among the most iconic scenes and lines in Star Wars, it’s really surprising to me that it’s only appeared like 3 times so far. I’m kind of hoping we see one next year or next time we get a wave of these. For that matter, I’m also shocked how few times we’ve seen the Luke vs Vader duel on Cloud City and the Obi Wan vs Vader duel on the Death Star, seems like these are missed opportunities.
  6. Yeah, you’re probably right, I’ll accept that. That said… I see this is a challenge. Give me a parts limit here and I’ll see what I can do, I’m still out of state but I’ll be back to my computer in a couple days. If I can’t pull it off, idk, I’ll eat a minifig or something, I remember someone doing a bet like that.
  7. Are we 100% sure there’s no buildable sentinel? I don’t remember any extra details about the other parts, but I also could see them not including those random body elements on a character sheet.
  8. Hey, if this new one doesn’t have Sting we’re gonna have some real problems here In any case, I’m curious, I don’t know how big this is gonna be. I’d have estimated that it needed at max like an $80 set, but this could be just really detailed.
  9. Anyone seen a recreation of the Temple of Doom set? I might make an effort at it once I’m back home, but I’m out of state for the month, and if someone has a better one, no reason to really do so, provided instructions exist too.
  10. Hey is Kingwong still doing hints or nah?
  11. Anyone seen any good light kits for the shadow box yet?
  12. So uh, anyone got any guesses as to what Iron Man suits we’ll be seeing in the tower?
  13. The remaining non D2C sets are September release, right? That should mean we see them in late July, if I remember correctly—I believe that’s when they usually leak.
  14. I'm not positive that figure is real--something about the hair looks kind of off in the way it's attached to the body, but maybe that's just the new mold.
  15. Maybe I’m the exception, but I’d be far more willing to buy a D2C from Burtman than Schumacher Batman. Batman and Robin is hilarious, but I’m not going to spend that much money on a meme set.
  16. You know, I think a slightly redesigned version came in a Lego Star Wars dictionary from around 2014-15.
  17. How much did those go down again?
  18. There are at least two of us
  19. Massively overpriced. I generally am pretty lenient on those, but that's almost as much as Rivendell. With that said, as a huge fan of 90s Batman, I love it. If I can find it cheap, I might get it, although I'd like to see the other figures before committing or anything.
  20. Honestly love that, one of my favorite polybags in a while and it’ll massively decrease the cost of that cape—I assume the Batwing and Mobile won’t have it so he can fit in them.
  21. This Mr Oz fellow from Dreamzzs seems to have a hairpiece that would be absolutely fantastic for Reinhardt...
  22. Uhhh...I wouldn't expect that as a pattern, certainly not yet. AT-AT made sense given it was arguably the most prominent missing set, and the Razor Crest was something of a wild card. Just going back a little bit, 2020 had the Cantina, 2019 had a Star Destroyer, 2018 had Cloud City, and 2017 had the Falcon. It is actually true that there was a Cantina in 2018, a Star Destroyer in 2017, and Falcon in 2015, but I think it far more likely that these are just sets in demand (plus that SD was an FO one). Also, we have not had a Venator since 2009, so I think it's a bit risky to place any bets on that.
  23. I know that this section is largely focused on LDD, but since it's a digital section, I figured I might as well ask here. I generally make backup copies of and upload my designs to google drive, but I did not do so for my most recent project (the Starship Enterprise built out of a Millennium Falcon chassis). It was not particularly big, around 2000 pieces, but I'd really like to get it back. Whenever I try to open it on stud.io, the project gets stuck on the "Parsing Bricks" message, and the whole program sort of freezes. In any case, does anyone know how to solve this?
  24. Well this upcoming conversation is going to be fun, anyone gonna make some popcorn?
  25. Yeah, I think that it's worth noting that the regular consumer is not going to be buying more than one gunship, C Guard or not. Or, in other words: "average person buy 3 gunships a year" factoid actualy just statistical error. average person buys 1 gunship per year. Gunship Georg, who lives in cave & buys over 10,000 each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted"
