LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Yeah, I'd expect at most we see this. They usually only do interiors if it's actually minifig scale or close, which the Venator will not be. -

Hmmm. Has anyone heard anything about whether or not the Ghost will have an interior? I have the old one, and I like it, but it’s absolutely tiny. -

Oh right, yeah, I forgot about that. Never mind, we’ll see if it is in about 2 and a half hours though. -

So, I think in all the SW craze it’s gotten lost, but Brick Clicker is doing a Super Sunday Rumors video. I’m not sure whether it’s for Marvel or DC, but since we’ve gotten DC info more recently than Marvel, I’m willing to bet it’s that. -

And to be honest, the 2013 gunship is a good set, but there’s a lot to improve—it seems a bit chunkier than it needs to be, it could be smoothed out quite a bit. -

Didn’t Lego announce that they had changed their mind about locking figs behind UCS sets specifically because of the gunship fiasco? -

Actually, this part is kind of plausible. The old Ghost is absolutely tiny, and can barely fit anything in it, so if anything, I’d say a new Ghost would almost certainly need a few more parts. On a different note, didn’t Promobricks just say a few days ago that there was no info suggesting a new Ghost on their stream? -

Potentially hot take, but I think that this year has a reasonable potential to beat out 2021 in terms of sets, depending on how the sets look. I get that that year introduced a lot of new minifigures, but the summer waver had kind of a mediocre build quality in my opinion. I liked the 1HY sets moderately well, but I think this year has already beaten those out too. -

Actually, you make a really interesting point here that until now I had not really considered, but I think I agree with you. I suppose there's a good chance we will have this again at some point due to a movie coming out eventually, but I do miss the waves of sets combined. -

Okay, but I must ask: what makes you different from the other fans? Are you simply stating your opinion here, or do you want to state that the prequels are good films from a filmmaking standpoint? Anyways, how did we get to this conversation exactly? I think it isn’t entirely unfair to say that Lego has an OT bias, but at the same time, it seems like it’s working. Personally, I think there’s a so-far unexplored market of Minifigure scaled, high quality sets, which is really where Lego should probably go with the Ot. Dioramas are a step in the right direction, but I sort of see something of a juniorification of recent non D2C SW sets in general, when I’m not sure if that’s where Lego should be going. -

Excellent news, I may have to take a look at this now. I must admit, I'm hoping it includes more than just the cast of Returns, but as long as we get a Catwoman and an accurate Bruce Wayne, I'll be pretty happy (and of course, it looks good). -

I'm unsure. I know the legoleak mods seem to know something, but I am not sure exactly what their track record is. I keep an eye on that sub, but I cannot think of anything major they have scooped, although I may have just forgotten. Can anyone jog my memory on this? -

JJPsiteleak is usually extremely accurate and up to date. He is not generally a leaker (although he does seem to have some insider info), but more of a compiler. https://jedijacpenguin.com/everythingweknowaboutLEGO2023.html#LEGO_Star_Wars -

Honestly, it's a gamble. There's a moderate chance they could use huge pieces, or sometimes they will just play a little more conservative with details--take a look at the new Jurassic Park Visitor Center, it looks quite a lot bigger but is only 200 pieces more. It's about the same piece count as a Hogwarts expansion, so make of that what you will. -

I mean sure, but this goes for all potential reasons for why it could have been canceled. It is not like they were afraid to announce that the Osprey violated their guidelines after they released it. -

Brickset is saying that the Temple of Doom was displayed at the Nuremburg Toy Fair. Under their article about the ToD, they state that "Perhaps more important is considering how the set could reach such a late stage in production and be displayed at Nuremberg Toy Fair in February, only to be cancelled before the release in April." Can anyone potentially elaborate on this subject? -

Is LifeBricks actually a leaker? I know he got some sets early, but I have not seen him scoop anything before. Has he just been sort of under the radar until lately, or am I just oblivious? -

No, I mean LMG put on their story that the palace won’t release on May 1st, although I can see how I worded that a bit weirdly. -

Huh, I actually feel like that is something I quite like about the wave. I like general build consistency, and I really hope the Ford is not too different from the diorama. I think having the two jeep variants being nearly identical is honestly rather neat about this, although I can see why it might have been more interesting to have one not be a Jeep, but I really do not know what would have fit in either of those sets instead. Also, did Lego use to reuse builds a lot? I cannot think of a lot of times that it has happened, only one that comes to mind is the BB shuttle. -

I mean she is not in the Dilo set, but it actually is kind of odd how many she is in... Damnit, these builds are actually pretty good. I was thinking I would be able to completely ignore these, especially considering I never like the prices of this theme, but I really love these. Even the Visitor Center seems pretty solid, given its piece count. I may have to get one or two of these, I really quite like them. Also, that Explorer is just straight up the same design from the diorama, or at least pretty close (the bumper looks a bit different and it has a different number), but that is pretty funny to me. Personally, I generally prefer brick built Dinos, but I must admit, these all look quite good, so I will really consider getting some of this wave.
