LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I don't mean to derail the conversation, but you were so close to the Lando quote, and it devastates me that you didn't follow through. -

I think he's an asshat and all around, a fraud with almost nothing reliable, but there was no bandwagon of a Skywalker homestead--I certainly didn't see it here, nor on IG, not to mention he got the exact info correct, one figure and the kitchen. My theory is that someone with good intel decided to give it to him as a joke, or, in a more sinister fashion, to throw discord with the community. I mean, can you imagine if like the National Enquirer had scooped the Times or Post during Watergate? It obviously did not have a major effect, but he really did get us this time. The question is, how... -

So, just so we're clear, we are all going to collectively agree to ignore the fact that Codyleaks actually got this one right...right? -

Don Quixote encounters the windmills of La Mancha, colorized. In any case, this is certainly an...odd promo. The homestead is arguably the most iconic missing piece from lego, and considering our only depictions of it are GWPs, it doesn't really make much sense. I suppose it may tie in with the Landspeeder, and it isn't bad that this is the promo by any means--it's really quite a good one--it's just...weird. -

I'm rather inclined to believe you here, but where was it confirmed? I haven't seen it come back since the couple days it was floating around IG. Also, I think if Cody isn't in it, it would be hilarious, but I may just switch to being a Mandr stan if that happened. -

Yeah, that's something I have always wondered--where did the idea that Cody won come from? Lego themselves certainly didn't confirm it, did they? It should also be noted that there was no limit on submissions, if I remember correctly. I remember quite a few people saying they listed literally every named clone they could think of. -

First of all, I'm really surprised at how quiet the thread has been, considering we have legitimate reason to discuss the possibility of a Phase 2 Cody--I would have expected at least three pages of discussion and at least one mod intervention. It's not necessarily bad, but it seems unusual. Secondly, is the AT-TE 160$ or 130$? I looked at JediJacPenguin's list for it and his website says 130$, but I have heard 160$ quite a fair bit. -

That is, however, assuming it comes with spoiler characters, something which I don't think has been confirmed, although it's possible a leaker has confirmed there will be and I missed it. I'd also like to add something: the fellows over in the HP forum just had a fairly big surprise: a D2C, which would be the most expensive the theme had ever had and which nearly everyone, including big leakers, had bet was one thing and that many said there is nothing else that could fill that slot, turned out to be completely different. It sounds oddly similar to our situation, and I get a gut feeling we may see the same thing play out, so I am still betting against the tower, however much I want it. -

When the news for the HP sets was coming out, they made a meme depicting the Harry Potter Eurobricks page as Sirius Black, and I think there were a few more things. In this case, it's a little different and feels a little bit hint-y, but it might just be a random kind of funny shot. -

Out of curiosity, how many body parts are you willing to bet Fulcrum is wrong? -

Hasn't he scooped quite a few people lately? If I remember correctly, he got the Korg accessory pack right and first, and looking back through his account, it looks like he got something from BttF correct, not to mention FF is backing him up here, so it is probably correct. I'm willing to bet he had some sort of incident where he got false info, but other than the legohio incident (and I'm not even sure he bought into those), which I think damn near everyone fell for, he has been reliable since then. -

Alright, I am entirely spitballing here, but with the leaking of the Tonks and Voldemort faces place the fact that the MoM can be configured in multiple different ways, what if there is some unknown set that has an extra extension to it or something? I think there's a greater chance of them just appearing in an accessory pack, but I think it is a little bit possible we see some sort of way to represent the other iconic scene in the Ministry, maybe with Belatrix or something. -

@Textorix, I think you’re the one who’s done the amazing job of keeping up with this digitally. You wanna take this one? Also, I’m oddly psyched about getting a new Kingsley since I didn’t get the figure in the CMF, and this one is almost as good as that one was. -

Holy hell, this might even top the 2020 wave. These are absolutely beautiful sets, the other themes are gonna have to work really pretty hard to beat this. Grimmauld Place is amazing, a tad overpriced but still amazing, one of my favorite new sets. I had somewhat high hopes for the Horntail, and I’d say they’ve been met. If I get it, I might try to mod it to work without the stand, but it seems to have taken cues from the JP dinosaurs, and some of those are really quite good. MoM: I mean it’s alright. This is one of the weaker sets, and it’s a little on the small side, but it’s pretty cute. Great figure selections, and really good we get DH. Shrieking Shack: it’s good. It’s covered almost all the figs in the scene, and it’ll fit right in with last year’s sets. Those were pretty stunning, so this is not much different. Dumbledore’s Office: the biggest surprise here is how good this set is: great new figures, looks like a cathedral, and will fit in great with both stylss Thestral and Courtyard: these two are alright. The Thestral has good figs and a really cute baby, and the figs are pretty good on the Courtyard, but it’s not amazing, especially compared to the Office. -

Well, if memory serves (which it may not due to the fact I tried blocking late 2020), we had a big thing in late July where we thought the Cantina was a remake of the UCS Imperial Shuttle, and a week or two after that we found out that was bs, and it was really the Cantina. I think we got our first images of it on like September first, although those were not amazing photos. As for minifigs, assuming it's MBS, I would guess around 20, give or take 3, but I could be very easily wrong, and someone else will certainly have prepared an extremely thorough analysis on this subject. -

The thought has suddenly occurred to me--do we have any confirmation that the final Sanctum figure is not just America Chavez again? It seems like there's a good chance they will just put her in there instead of some character that is a huge deal in terms of the multiverse, plus she already has a figure. -

Touche. But I will still be betting against the tower because I really do not think they'll release two modulars in the same theme, in the same city, in the same year. Or perhaps, a giant buildable Ant Man. Yes, yeeeeeesssss..... more Ant Man. -

I don't have very long to talk, but my current bet right now is that it's not the Avengers Tower, or even minifig scale, but something weird like the Hogwarts Icons Collection, maybe such as a giant Iron Man statue. -

The tank has leaked, and while it's definitely weaker than the 2017 iteration, it's really pretty good--I would say it's probably an improvement on the 2008 one, even. It doesn't even remotely look 4+, and the angles we got did not do it justice even remotely. It sort of feels like the designers had to use that cockpit piece, I don't know, as a bet or something, which is why they incorporated it and not the old style, but overall, it works. -

Huh, upon closer inspection, I think it’s printed on, and not dual molded. That’s actually more accurate. In any case, I’m swinging between this set being awful and fantastic, so I suppose I’m just gonna wait for more photos. -

I’d say that unfortunately, there is a very good chance we never see Azkaban. It’s only in there for a couple second, would probably require a fairly large and complex set, and there’s just not enough mini figs that could justify. Plus, it’s pretty dark, in a way, in that it’s essentially a torture jail. I’d be cool, but I feel like we’ll have to wait several years before we get that. -

Whoo. I think I’ll need to see better angles of the front, but that piece hey used just doesn’t work. I’d say it’s still pretty cool though, especially considering that it’s got two battle droids too. -

You know, we can’t entirely discount the possibility of C3-PO showing up in another set at some point. It’s unlikely, but there’s certainly a reasonable chance. Also, has no one else seen FF’s story? It would appear that there will be a photo reveal today!
