DC Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
PsychoBuilder replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I mean maybe there’s more misdirection in Lego than before…this could be the work of that person they hired a while back to crack down on leaks? In any case, I don’t think even many Marvel fans wanted this to take up a 100$ set slot, so this kinda sucks for everyone. Also, didn’t a lot of people say this set would be DC themed? Not just Fulcrum. -

JJPSiteLeaks is a generally reliable leak compiler and he has it as 76408, or the 120$ dollar set. -

Alright, I’m making my final predictions: 20$, 121 piece set: Second Task—probably kind of a generic build similar to that JL Aquaman one—Harry, Ron, Shark Krum, a Merperson, and maybe a Grindylow? 50$, 345 piece set: First Task: Half molded, half brickbuilt horntail with stands—Harry, Cedric, Fleur, Rita Skeeter? On the other hand, I’d say this could just as easily be a Quidditch pitch or Hagrid’s hut remake 80$, 654 piece set: Durmstrang ship—bad ppp in this theme usually just means big molds—Karkaroff, Krum, Durmstrang student, Hermionie 100$, 990 piece set: Betting this one’s something weird since we’ve got the 90 and 120 ones specifically labeled as play set, this one’s gotta be different from the regular set numbers in some way. I’m guessing a SoD set, a Hogwarts express, or maybe a display piece? 90$, 777 piece play set: Shrieking Shack—Zonko’s and the Shrieking Shack—Harry, Ron, Hermionie, Lupin, Sirius, Pettigrew, Dementor, and Patronus—it’s a weird ppp, and having a lot of characters and a Patronus, along with possibly a werewolf head could justify that. 120$, unknown piece play set: I know we have the clock tower already, but Lego puts out a large Hogwarts expansion every year, so my money is on an expansion largely focused around a DAtDA class, perhaps with a Divination side room—Lupin, Neville, Harry, Malfoy, Ron, Hermionie, Bogart Snape Brick Built Creature: Niffler—I’d say there’s a reasonable chance this is the only SoD set we get, at least for now. D2C: It would be really weird for them to make another D2C Hogwarts while ones already on the market, so I feel like this has to be Gringotts and a DA extension, probably Gringotts, Borgin and Burkes, the Leaky Cauldron, and one more KA building—Harry, Ron, Hermionie, that dude who runs the Leaky Cauldron, Borgin, a couple goblins, Malfoy and Malfoy, another shopkeeper for KA, Fenrir Greyback, Belatrix, Arthur Weasley, and probably a couple more… Advent Calendar Theme: I mean we should be on Grimmauld place now, but since that hasn’t actually had a set yet, I think they may end up doing the Burrow: Harry, Ron, Ginny, Mollie, Arthur, and either Fred or George Actually, I’d bet most of these are wrong, but I’m sticking with them for now. -
LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
PsychoBuilder replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Alright, given recent circumstances and the fact that Lego rarely ever does one wave about a thing and forgets (at least in SW) I’ve been kind of wondering, what are the odds we see another Mando season 2 set this season? -

Star Wars? I don’t mean to get too off topic, but the main stuff they didn’t cover was just later seasons of Rebels and a few things in Resistance. It’s unfortunate, but not really a gaping hole, is it? Especially compared to some of the other themes you mentioned and the lack of DH sets. -
LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion
PsychoBuilder replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I was going to write a snarky comment here, but I think that’ll undermine my point. Let’s start with this: Lego has not officially partnered with the CCP, they are just releasing sets based off of Chinese celebrations. Lego, was, however, officially working with Blizzard. That’s the biggest thing—money would be going directly to Blizzard, while even though perhaps more money earned in China might benefit them a tiny bit in the long run, that’s just the nature of capitalism (and @Stuartn already sort of addressed that the US isn’t blameless either). Secondly, there’s a huge difference between celebrating Chinese culture and supporting complete atrocities. If making sets off of a group of people means that you support every bad thing that group is doing, that means almost not a single country or group could be supported-period. Another point would be that Chinese New Year is a multi thousand year tradition, and Journey to the West was written in what, the 1500s? These aren’t things that were invented by the modern Chinese, these are much older than the current form of China. That being said, I’d also like to add : megabluck the CCP edit: okay the EB content blocker is still pretty funny -

I’m not saying Amazon drivers don’t die, I was saying not every company is bad. I’m sorry for your loss. -

Man, I’m a socialist and even I don’t think this is true. Most companies do do bad things, but the stuff with Blizzard is absolutely terrible. -

And the tower of fate too, don’t forget that one, plus even though it seems more unlikely now, Fulcrum still backed up his Mario rumor -

Apparently Lego is reviewing their partnership with Activision. Probably a good choice of them to do that, although they haven’t officially canceled the Titan. -

The Mario CMF and Tower of Fate did first come from Brickyleaky, yes, but those were also independently hinted by Fulcrum afterwards. I think the Raimi sets came from here, right? I’m not sure where the large NWH set came from, I thought it might have been conjecture from us. -

Ahh, thanks for the clarification, amigo. I’m normally not as easily trusting of new leakers, but considering you beat everyone to the punch at the tower of fate, I’m thinking you’re probably legit. Does your correction on instagram mean you’re unsure if it’s Mario? -

So the guy that called the Tower of Fate before anyone else did is talking about a figure six pack for this them. I’m not sure if that’s just one of those boxes of cmf stuff, but I’m also a bit leaning towards the idea that it could be a big pack of minifigures. Probably wishful thinking though, I’m not betting on anything yet. -

I would dismiss it entirely out of hand too…except for the fact that Brick Clicker liked the post. I’m not totally sure I buy it, but it certainly is interesting for someone like him to like something fake, unless he’s just a really nice guy (which in fairness, he is, but again, leakers don’t go around always liking fake leaks.) -
Licensed Horror/Spooky themes that might happen

I mean you could count Luigi’s Mansion as a horror theme… -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

I mean, Lego loves car chases…there were several of those in the second movie, and they without a doubt could have done an extended lab. The train fight was certainly neat, but I think some sort of scene at Pym tech could work too. Luis’s van would have worked too, if it had not been made for the Endgame wave 2. Admittedly, it’s not really sets that are missing, it’s perhaps more the pretty high number of gigs that actually contribute a lot to the story a lot that just weren’t covered. -

It had better not. Ant Man is the single most unappreciated part of the MCU (okay, maybe Captain Marvel, but still). I mean, we’ve gotten one (widely available) set for each movie, both at a 20$ price point. It’s seriously lacking, especially when there are some solid sets that could be made. -

LETS GOOOO!!! TODAY IS A GOOD DAY FOR ANT MAN FANS! Overenthusiam aside, this is still my new most hyped set for next year. Even if it’s a two pack mech, this could still be a fantastic set. I’d say there’s a possibility it’s a Giant Ant Man too, in which case this is going to become one of my new favorite sets. If it’s not, both helmets need new molds and prints, although I don’t think the mechs have ever gotten a new mold, but a new print could be nice. FF also mentioned on his post that the D2C is probably not the Sanctum. Hmmm…not my first guess, but a lot of people did expect it. -

Have we acknowledged just how weird a $470 price tag is? I mean, have we ever had a D2C at a price more than $200 and not end on a factor of $50? It makes no damn sense! Compels me though. -

Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like for it to fit in with the current DA’s “alley” arrangement style (32x64 instead of 16x128, shop fronts facing each other) would have to make it on at least a 32x32 baseplate. It doesn’t necessarily have to fit the whole think, but Micmac’s got a photo of that version with the others lined up like that and it’s just sitting there. At the very least, it should connect to the sides. -

Ehh, that’s nice. I was worried Lego was going to make you get them both to be able to use it all. I’m sort of considering it (wellnot super seriously, but I’m moderately interested) since my brother loves Luigi’s mansion and I just want the big one so I can get a Toad. -

I think someone brought this up last time, but I don’t think I heard anyone answer: given Andrew’s increased popularity due to apparently being really good in NWH (about to see it today, the fact that it’s almost the tenth anniversary of TASM, and the new rumors of Tobey sets, any chance we see something from his movies? They’re much less popular and widely considered to be pretty weak (I like them), but Lego has made sets based off of films that were weaker in other themes long after they came out. -

I think a set with Gringotts, the Leaky Cauldron, Borgin and Burkes, and maybe one more DA but more likely KA building could theoretically sell on its own, given the prominence of the the former three, which are arguably more noticeable than the builds in DA, simply by number of shots. I haven’t watched the films since last year, but the only location in DA with equal screen time to those places is probably Flourish and Blotts, right? And it’s only the interior. I’m betting on something completely bizarre, but DA with a chunk of KA isn’t entirely out of the question.
