They did Dumbo and Bambi, so why not the Lion King characters?

I really want this LOTR streak to continue, even every year! But I can totally get how it can make economic sense for Lego to hold off on making another big set next year. Will they hold off on making any major set and just make a placeholder set (like another Brickheadz)? Or completely not have any release next year? Or release some small sets? Early on, prior to the release or just after the release of Rivendell, I read somewhere that Lego said, at least at that time, they were not interested in releasing anything smaller than a Rivendell-like set (presumably in terms of price point). Things change, so who knows? Also, on the designer interview, one of the designers mentioned that the idea of Barad-dur was thought of as a 'progression' from their earlier release of Rivendell. It would make sense to feature something from the ROTK. Or perhaps it will be that ship referenced in the Rivendell stickers instead?

Now I am convinced! I also wonder if some of the Orc torsos might be available on PAB?

I wonder which dino ( Jurassic park), dreamzz, or ninjago parts out there can be used to MOC a fellbeast?

I remember Rivendell was shown at an event in Denmark (?) months ahead of the official reveal. Wonder if Barad-dur is likewise already known to some ambassadors? Not saying some of them will commit treason but just wondering if this tower went through the same presentations as Rivendell. With the release being in 2 weeks, I bet some of the influencers are already making review videos.

I think Lego should make a third large D2C featuring the a scene/ location from ROTK. Then they can take a 'break' and perhaps offer small insignificant sets like Brickheadz. I wouldn't mind playsets though, or any smaller set for that matter. Wasn't the Frodo Brickheadz set the GWP with Rivendell? What if this Fellbeast set will eventually be for sale later on?

I really wonder what the next big set would be? People who cannot afford to buy the set on day 1 can just save up for it! LOL Kidding aside, I think Rivendell, for example is somewhat heirloom quality in its design, much like the large 18+ Architecture sets. Heirloom might be an exaggeration but you get the point - it is something families can build together and is displayable on its own, much like an art piece or living room fixture. Keep the minifigs coming!!! Look at the HP sets!!! I wonder if a Gotham Skyline-style art set would do well for some scenes or locations? CMFs, battle packs, and playlets... we could all just dream! Bring them on!!!

I'd prefer a brachiosaur or pterodactyl. Actually, I would much rather prefer they keep making animal and vegetable costume minifigs, although I don't mind they keep doing dinos as well.

I feel like the GWP will contain generic minifigs a la battle pack. Not complaining though.

They ought to release a regular version of that updated Blacktron. Or at least give us the complete set of legs in another minifig.

I won't say no to that. Well, I won't mind if they redo Bar End in a more grander way! Micro scale exterior with minifigure scale vignette inside. Or a split up in several vignettes? How about a wall-hanging skyline a la Gotham? LOL But still have a series of minifigs?

Any publicity IS publicity. When people stop talking about Beyonce's or Taylor Swift's dirty laundry, then they are not famous anymore. The fact that people are talking about this particular Lego set, regardless of whether it is positive or negative, means that Lego is 'popular.' In modern times, influencers have made the publicity department's job a whole lot easier.

You gotta wonder how long they can keep this streak going? I am hoping there is another set next year, but perhaps it will be their gap year?

Not bad. I would’ve probably preferred Mr. Freeze to have the armor from the TLBM version. But I’ll be getting this with the Gotham skyline.

What could possibly be holding Lego back from releasing this set this year? I hypothesized about the D&D dragon. Is it just that? I feel like Lego should pick three or four classic fairytales/ movies for each year to feature as a minifig set based on a vignette/ location. This year, they did Peter Pan, Snow White, and Little Mermaid (albeit not the classic version). Beauty and the Beast is long long long time overdue.

Hope you are right. Was Lego afraid that the red dragon from D&D will face off with Maleficent's dragon form?

Minidoll set based off the original film... does this mean that if the minifig set were released at a future date, it will be based off a remake of some sort? Clamshell all over again? One year of excitement over the dragon and then this anti-climax. At least I have the Barad-dur and X-mansion to look forward to! Oh wait, they are not classic Disney! LOL

So, what attraction could be next, and with a minifig? Not to mention the fact that Sleeping Beauty is the only major princess that hasn't had her prince many any appearance yet. Although come to think of it, Belle is nowhere to be found. There was a precedent for reusing a Disney CMF. Donald was reused for the original castle. To date, they have reused the following CMFs: Tiana for the new castle. Now possibly Sleeping Beauty for the mini Sleeping Beauty castle. I am speculating that perhaps they will reuse Sorcerer Mickey for that Target set. I wonder which other character they could possibly recycle. They gotta recoup the development cost of 18 minifigs, somehow! And I also wonder which other minifigs from other sets get recycled. They reused Snow White from the new castle to her own cottage. And Peter Pan from the anniversary train into the flight over London.
