  1. I think I like the old haunted house more, but I am very intrigued by the special functions in this house. Can't wait for better pics.
  2. Thanks @Holodoc and @Coopa182! Really appreciate your advice. I just ordered some! Wish me luck...
  3. Thanks for the input! Since I am a print removal noob, could you confirm this is the exact product you use? (Not sure if there are different kinds). Interesting that metal polish is useful to remove print. I heard Brasso can leave the plastic a little dull. If so, how do you guys get around this? Also, what do you guys use to apply it? Cotton? I want to make sure not to scratch anything!
  4. I will soon receive the first pieces in my monochrome collection after years of salivating at your collections. Does anyone know of the pros and cons of different products or print removal? I'd like to use something that leaves the surface as pristine as possible, that won't discolor the plastic, and that removes all of the print. I've seen Brasso and Quixx recommended in this topic, but I was wondering if there were pros and cons to them or other products.
  5. Alternating years of Marvel and DC would be a dream for me! We'll see...
  6. Lucky. I'd love to get these at $3.44 each. However I am risk averse so I don't think I'll be heading to Walmart for a couple of months! I'll probably just wait for these to fetch a reasonable price on eBay.
  7. Looks like someone has finally claimed the record at 3310 minifigures! (Not clear if this means unique minifigs or total minifigs). While I am sure this is not actually the world's largest collection, it's still worth checking out at Guinness. See also: https://www.fabiox.it/en/lego-minifigures-online-collection-shop
  8. Itaria, is this coming from your sources? I really want to get excited about this, but the only time I saw this mentioned was with a link to a press release that mentioned nothing about the modified licensing terms. Also, regarding "the last good regular series", to me it was S17, which I felt was the greatest series since S13. I think the theme has strayed off a bit from its original fun diversity, focusing too much on city.
  9. It baffles me why some people are so obsessed with gaining followers. "I will give a follow to anyone who follows me". Monetary gain would explain it, except you need quite a lot of followers to make money off from Instagram AFAIK.
  10. Well, on the bright side, it might not be an apples to apples comparison. We don't have images of all the HP figures yet. Also, some people tend to like a series more as they see pictures of the actual minifigures in reviews. That puts S19 at an advantage in that poll. I'd be interested in seeing another poll once the HP series is out.
  11. I have no budget for these right now, and I am in no rush since it doesn't seem like there will be a huge demand for them. Usually I wait for a good in-store discount, but in this case I will just buy the ones I want from Bricklink as soon as the price is good.
  12. I was able to snag my Easter minifig parts, but will be bummed if we miss out on future figures due to the virus. I agree with the measures, but it would be nice if Lego still gave us a way to acquire these figures.
  13. HP S2 and a MARVEL series??? My life is complete... Here's hoping we'll get Lockhart and some overdue X-Men / FF figs (although knowing Lego they'll mostly be MCU-based).
  14. I heard Hasbro just renewed their license, so I wouldn't hold my breath.
  15. Sadly, S20 sounds like a disappointment on the order of S19... And S19, to me, was the worst series probably since S10. To echo what others have said, considering we only get one regular series now, it sucks that Lego is choosing to focus the selection so much on City. I actually liked S18, but this means that the last time we had a solid, regular diverse series was in 2017 with S17. Add to that the price increase, and it's icing on the cake... I became a fan with S1, and I have been collecting for a decade now. However, this theme is starting to veer off from what made me fall in love with it: a varied set of characters that diversified my minifigure collection. If this is going to become a City subtheme, I will be very disappointed and might stop collecting altogether.
  16. Thanks for the info. This is incredibly disappointing. There is a great appeal to completing a series (they even prompt you to do so in the advertising), and this makes that close to impossible for most. I thought Lego had started to realize what a bad taste artificial scarcity creates in its customers.
  17. When you say Mr. Gold like, do you mean equal in rarity, or more like the policeman? I sure hope Lego doesn't pull that "only 5K minifigures released" crap again. At least one per box should be the minimum.
  18. I am so glad the polybag will be available for purchase. Also glad to see we got Vers. I feel bad for those that spent a lot of money on Vers, but in the future please remember that so far the only Marvel and DC figures with exclusive parts that have remained exclusive are those that come in the clam shells, not in the sets. Until we see a year in which they stay exclusive, I'd advise against buying those sets for the figures.
  19. That piece is awesome. I hope it turns out in a series because otherwise I will feel compelled to get the version in the Chinese set by virtue of being a new costumed figure.
  20. That is very hypocritical of M&R, because I remember he made a very smug video when The Brick Show got their channel suspended for supposedly putting leaked pictures in their channel. Purchasing stolen sets is unquestionably worse.
  21. Hmmmm, I wonder what kind of sets we'll get, assuming the rumor is accurate. Could they take another whack at the Ecto-1? Also I have no money in my budget for this theme!
  22. Well, technically there isn't a precedent for a minifig in an exclusive set remaining exclusive. If anything I believe Rocket in 2014 was the only precedent and he turned up in a polybag. I like many others have expected Vers to pop up because she came in an exclusive set and wasn't given away as an exclusive minifig. Granted Lego has clearly not been completely systematic.
  23. Nope, that specific Batman variant remained exclusive and was never seen again. Also, if I recall correctly the packaging for Bard and for Azog were different from those for other SDCC figures and lacked the word "exclusive" or something like that. Superman does seem to break this pattern, but that was back in 2011.
  24. This set looks like a must-have to me! The high-quality pictures would need to be terrible for me to be dissuaded!
  25. I don't believe this guy scammed them from Lego, unless he used multiple addresses. Lego asks for proof of purchase for replacement pieces for licensed sets and has even flagged people making legitimate claims from the system (I believe there are some posts here with stories like that). I don't Lego would be easily fooled into providing multiples of a licensed torso in a limited set for a clearly fraudulent damaged piece claim. If these people did indeed use the replacement pieces service from Lego, I'd expect them to have purchased them directly. Maybe there was a hiccup with the system and the piece showed up in stock. I'd only expect this to be possible if Lego was producing more of Vers. Otherwise, they wouldn't have had an incentive to make more than 1500 torsos, or whatever the limited quantity was. TLDR: Given the high quantity of torsos I doubt these people scammed them from Lego, and if they did not get them in the set this is a good sign if we want to see the torsos pop up again.
