Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah I've been thinking they might release another red guardian with a mask, and then the figure would stay exclusive. At the same time, the included Taskmaster does not have a hood and is technically exclusive, so it is not 100% clear. -

I will respectfully disagree and say, just when I thought the Snyder cut couldn't get any worse... -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I am just a tad skeptic because the shown prototype is a box for S19, which by this point is quite old. However, assuming this is true, my hope would be for Lego to put the unique barcodes again. Barring that, they can probably expect less sales, because I don't think many people are able to afford buying $5 blind bags until they find the figure they want, and not everyone is savvy about the secondary market. -

Currently overpriced if you just compare with previous SDCC figures that are more popular. The price might go down depending on the number of resellers. -

It's bad enough that they create artificial scarcity and restrict raffles to the US. Now, you need to own a PS4, own the game, and have beaten it. This amount of gatekeeping is perplexing. I understand why they could think it makes sense to give the figure to fans of the game, but they are not giving an opportunity to fans of Miles Morales who don't own a PS4. I don't own a console and probably never will. Screw console-exclusive games. -

It seems people were not notified in advance. Quite odd! Oh well, thus starts the wishful waiting for some of us. Trying not to expect to win anything! -

Yeah I agree. I kept saying this with the Captain Marvel figure last year. So far, virtually no super hero minifigs have remained exclusive to one of these sets (barring the short-haired Aquaman with non-exclusive pieces and Maria Rambeau, which I doubt most people mind). For our friends across the pond, I'd say keep calm and wait. -

I'm excited about the Spider-man lair due to the new suits. Really hoping they'll put in some interesting variants that we haven't gotten yet. Sad to see Lego recycling so many characters, but it's probably what is selling best. I just wish kids were more interested in getting X-men or FF sets. -
LEGO Ideas - 123 Sesame Street

That is an incredible display piece. Big Bird is a superb minifig! Oscar the Grouch is a bit of a cop-out, but understandable as they already invested in a lot of new molds here. Sadly due to my budget and space constraints I will have to try to get the figures separately. Here's hoping we get Grover and the count someday! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Would you happen to have a source for this? I keep hearing this but I never see an actual source, so I am a bit concerned it might just be an unfounded rumor (which I hope is not the case). So far I have not been able to find anything confirming that the Marvel rights are now non-exclusive. -

And the plot thickens! Note he said "a license never done before as CMFs" and not "a license never done before by Lego"... -
I have to admit that my excitement about the theme is not what it used to be. With price increases and what I feel is an increase in the amount of boring or unnecessary figures, I have been a bit disappointed. Now I mostly get excited about licensed series. Hopefully this reduction to 12 figures is a temporary pandemic measure. And again, I hope that Lego makes good choices with those 12!

Really surprised about Spidey's arms! Always great to see Lego gravitate towards more detail. -
Drone guy, for me, stands out as one of the most boring figures in the last few series. Well, of course, that worries me too. However, if I am Lego, and I know I have to choose 12 figures for a series, I am going to choose the 12 that have the greatest potential to sell. And one would hope that aligns with quality, although admittedly Lego's choices do not always make sense to us...

That's understandable for you if that is something you value in each series. Also, I agree with most of your filler figs for S20, although I felt the kid with the drone was lackluster, because he was more about the drone than the figure. That is because I value mostly the figure and not the accessories as much. In any case, we might not all agree as to which figures are filler, but hopefully the ones that won't get made will be those that would be considered filler by most.
