Monochrome Collector box
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to steelwoolghandi's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Hey, congrats on 100+ supporters! I would like to suggest you to make the pic on the first post a direct link to the project. Try to get Huw on Brickset put it on the Cuusoo Corner. Also, if there are pages dedicated to minifigure fans (which I haven't seen), you should try to gather support there. -
LEGO Team GB Minifigures Discussion
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
No, at least not yet. Hence the uncertainty about whether or not these are real. -
I'm suprised (and pleased) at the prices on Bricklink and eBay for this fig. I feared slightly that as it is another chrome protocol droid, and actually a better looking one than the chrome C-3PO, in my opinion, the prices could rise considerably. But, it looks like Lego produced a lot of these. Thumbs up for not making it a super rare release... I hate those.

New brick - 2x2 tile inverted
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Superkalle's topic in General LEGO Discussion
All right, it looks like I won't be able to go into space using only Lego... Anyways, speaking seriously, I hope that more of these inverted tiles appear, so you could cover something like the underside of a shuttle. -
New brick - 2x2 tile inverted
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Superkalle's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Ohhhh, sweeeet  . The Space Shuttle needs a lot of these. -
Thanks for the detailed review! I'm not too sure that I like the rainbow inside. Why did they do this? To allow for easier construction and less confusion? Anyways, I think that I agree that this set is worth it. Hopefully I'll be able to get this guy on a discount some day. Thanks!

Thanks. Might give it a try. -
Review: TC-14 May the 4th promo fig
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Solscud007's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Perhaps a quote from "Home Alone 2" can help? "Kevin McCallister: I understand. I had a nice pair of Rollerblades. I was afraid to wreck them, so I kept them in a box. Do you know what happened? I outgrew them. I never wore them outside. Only in my room a few times. Bird Lady: A persons heart and feelings are very different than skates. Kevin McCallister: Theyre kind of the same thing. If you wont use your heart, who cares if it gets broken? If you just keep it to yourself, maybe itll be like my Rollerblades. When you do decide to try it, it wont be any good. You should take a chance. Got nothing to lose." Don't keep it in its bag if you don't have another one that you can enjoy. -
Avengers Trailer in LEGO
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to FinalFeature's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
The trailer is very faithful to the original. Kudos. And NO, Batman wouldn't beat Iron Man if they ever fought against each other. That hit against solid metal would have broken Batman's hand! -
I love the level of detail! The cracks on the road work very nicely! And the big alien is perfect! Thanks for sharing!

MOC: My Minifigure Display Stand
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Splat's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Great display! What would you say is the estimated cost of the whole stand, including the plastic box? I have been long tempted to make something like this, but I don't know if it's within my budget. So far all my figs are cramped together in plastic boxes because it is space efficient. -
I'm too poor to buy all the sets I like. I don't have enough space either. However, in general, if I like the source material, then I like the licensed sets. This could have to do with the fact that I am a die hard minifigure collector. I love to see figs of characters I like in Lego form. However, not all of them have been done in ways that satisfy my expectations, like the promo Hulk that is coming out in a few days. Overall, I almost always like licensed sets of things that I'm a fan of, but I just don't have the money to buy the sets; I seldom do.

Review: TC-14 May the 4th promo fig
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Solscud007's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Huw on Brickset has indicated the fig has scratches. Still looks great though, but that's a bummer. -
Pictorial Review: 10225 UCS R2-D2
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Solscud007's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That's very exciting actually. Hopefully someone will make a mod like that awesome UCS Millenium Falcon with interior and LEDs. -
Lego CUUSOO Firefly Serenity Playset Reaches 10k!
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I hope you voted on it because you liked the model... I'm not too excited about this project. Are people supporting these projects actually because they like them, or just because they are licensed? I'm beginning to change my mind with this last flow of licensed projects... -

I actually meant right what you answered. Thanks. -
Original Castle or LOTR?
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Piranha's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I guess that I love the original castle theme, even though I don't own any sets, because I think that we saw more complete castles and very interesting sets. However, LOTR is a fairly faithful reproduction of a classic literary work, and I love it mainly for that reason. Therefore, I like both as much. Nevertheless, I would like to keep seeing more LOTR. I would love it if we got a Mount Doom scene. -
AWESOME! The model is practically perfect. My only suggestion would be to change the CW figs for the new ones. I think it would look better. However, that's just a small detail. I'm impressed at the amount of detail and precision in this model, and you definitely captured the scene's look. Great work! Thanks for sharing!

Pictorial Review: 10225 UCS R2-D2
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Solscud007's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Bummer. In spite of all those things, would you say that the overall balance is positive or negative? -
Review: TC-14 May the 4th promo fig
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Solscud007's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Slightly off-topic, but could anyone take a pic of all 4 chromies just to compare? With one of those really expensive 3POs, I mean. -
Hulk promo minifigure for May 16-31
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to ACPin's topic in LEGO Licensed
I just went to S&H and put the Camper Van in my bag, and it put the goodies automatically. Back on topic, that makes the apparent distinction between the description of the TC-14 promo and the Hulk promo kind of arbitrary. -
Pictorial Review: 10225 UCS R2-D2
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Solscud007's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Considering the UCS Super Star Destroyer has a discount today, I think that the UCS R2 might have one too one year from today. Plus, it's likely that Lego will keep its free shipping. I plan to wait to think better if I want this big guy, perhaps even see some more reviews, and buy the promo fig through BL or eBay. It's not that expensive. -
Hulk promo minifigure for May 16-31
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to ACPin's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not at all. You don't even need to purcahase anything Star Wars to get the fig. -
Pictorial Review: 10225 UCS R2-D2
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Solscud007's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That's a bummer. In my opinion, it should have wheels, albeit I ignore the implications that such a modification could have on the design.
