  1. Am I the only one who does not like any motors at all? Just give me cranks and wheels to turn.
  2. Haha, that is not what I meant but I understand the confusion. What I meant is that there is a page for default notificationsettings, eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/notifications/options/, and there is the page where your current notifications are listed, eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/followed/. I assumed only the first page existed, and changing things there would have an effect on all already existing notification-subscriptions :)
  3. Thank you. Why are there so many pages with different settings for notifications...?
  4. Two questions: 1. How can I get rid of the "Your Eurobricks Forums digest"? In eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/notifications/options/ the only things that are selected are "Automatically follow new content I post" and "Do not send me notifications". It has been this way since a few days ago, but I still get those e-mails. 2. Is it possible to add a button that lets me edit the HTML or markup of comments? This WYSIWYG-editor is reeeeeaaaaaly buggy, and I already had to modify my text in the browsers element inspector before.
  5. Looks really nice! :) What is the X-shaped thing the lego figure is holding?
  6. I recently noticed that I never look at the little boxes with the parts needed... probably a quirk I still have from when I build with lego as a child, as those boxes did not exist back then (for non-technic sets) :')
  7. Ah, I had that problem too with the 4 gears. I solved it by putting a pin with friction between the steering so it could not go all the way.
  8. Actually I was talking about your first steering ^^. It works better for me. I did remove the black 36-tooth gear and the black 12-tooth gear, as the movement from the other gear is enough to get the steering to work :)
  9. I am trying to link the steering I made based on the one posted by SaperPL in "Steering mechanism for tight wheel wells?" to multiple wheels to get 4 wheel steering. To problem I am running into is that there is a lot of backlash. Does someone know a good way to minimalise that? [ picture removed ] [ picture removed ] The reason for steering on the backwheels is because I need a lot of room in the front. The backlash problem is in the front wheels. There are only two gears, so all backlash is caused by the friction-less pins as far as I can see. When you fix the back wheels, you can turn the entire front wheels by pushing gently. It gets a lot worse when driving in reverse.
  10. They have a limited amount of storage for their Lego parts, and that is why a lot of parts are used in different sets and themes. If there is no other set in 2021 with that brick in white, it makes more sense to use a color that is used in another set.
  11. Nice clock! But how is your(?) child going to learn how a clock works if all the gearing is hidden? :) Also, your video is linked to start somewhere at the end of the video. Was that on purpose or was it meant to start at 0:00?
  12. That steering is so brilliant, thanks for sharing!
  13. I love the wooden figure :D It is produced by Lego, so does that make it an official lego piece? I also like the rounded corners, gives it a nice touch :)
  14. Sorry for necroing this old thread, but I need steering for my cars and buses and didn't feel like creating a copy of this thread :P I already had steering in https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/181558-moc-5-seat-7-studs-wide-car-with-steering/, but that kind of steering takes up to much space, as was already mentioned multiple times in this topic... I came up with this modification of the steering of City Hunter, making it smaller in width: It seems to work fine when testing, but I have not used it in a MOC yet. Maybe the connection between the white liftarms and the red bars is not strong enough for that.
  15. Could you give a recent example of a set you think is proper build, and one with terrible engineering? (Not picking a fight, I am really curious about your thoughts)
  16. Not that many people use only basic Lego blocks to make their MOC's, but damn does it look nice! :) I understand now how spiders could get into your MOC's with buildings that big ^^
  17. I think 8279 is a good example of an old instruction booklet that is really confusing: https://www.lego.com/cdn/product-assets/product.bi.core.pdf/4133413.pdf It: jumps from the A-model to the B-model and back never mentions when you have to apply a sticker goes from page 30 to 31 without telling you what to do with the part you just made, only for it to reappear at page 33 has distracting visuals (background, page numbers, application-like part list,...) uses six(!) styles of arrows as far as I can see (black thin, black bold, yellow, blue, beige with box and red). It does not really help either that on a lot of pages it uses red arrows on top of red elements. I hope Lego does not do this again. They have now included minifigures in the instructions of some Friends and MonkeyKid instruction booklets. Hopefully it stops there.
  18. Permanently taking my MOC's apart is something I do not want to do. Maybe that changes in the future. For now I am going for buying extra parts via Bricklink instead of disassembling to fetch a specific part. Thanks for your replies! ^^ May I know where you kept that MOC? Dust I can understand, but the dead spiders...
  19. What are your thoughts on the other things I mentioned I would like to see in Technic? These can still pack a lot of functions.
  20. I want a technic set that isn't a vehicle. A turingmachine, a basic mechanical calculator, a windmill, ... things like that. I am probably a minority here, so it makes sense for Lego to keep making vehicles. It just feels like all the technic sets are the same: steering + suspension + fake engine "powered" by driving + some extra function. It does not really help that I am really not a car-person either :')
  21. Hello, I bought 70671 and I have two questions about the three tail fox: Does someone know what the printed 4-digit number on the bottom of the left-front paw means? It has the format [digit][digit][letter][digit] The mold seems to be two parts glued/molted together, but at the end of the tail seems to be a little gap. Is that a tear that is going to become bigger and brake the mold, or is that little gap by design? Does someone else have this fox that can check this for me? I already tried to look in Bricklink Studio, but I could not find this piece. It is also really small, so I cannot get a picture of it, but I can see it when holding in front of something bright.
  22. What I dislike about the new technic sets is how many of them use PU. Before a lot of sets did not have any motors but could be "upgraded" with 8293. I like my Lego without any technology in them, so really annoying I cannot buy some sets without having extra motors I do not want to use :/ Back on topic: I think a petition for a converter to go from the PF battery box to the new USB-like format would have more success. Is there already a 3th-party converter in the making?
  23. I want to build an amusement park. So like the other people who are building cities, I want it to grow. I had to look up "kragle", but yeah, I am like that guy in the lego movie :P (but without the city, just starting...)
  24. Sometimes I get a notification "X has started following you", and it is always the same person. I already send X a message, but X told me they didn't do it. Is this a bug? Edit: X let me know they found the issue and fixed it.
  25. Hello, I want to build a lot of MOC's, but do not want to take existing ones apart. Sometimes I use a part in a certain MOC where I could have used another one. When building another MOC, I might realise that I needed that certain part. What do you do in that situation? Do you take apart the first MOC to replace the part, taking the risk that you do not know how to put it back together? Do you buy the part (PAB, BrickLink,...) and leave your first MOC be?
