  1. I have not found anything that could be considered a Cho minifig wearing purple. The only female fig in purple I'm finding has a yellow head so I believe is part of the Ninjago theme. Don't know why some people are so quick to assume most every leak real or fake belongs to Harry Potter unless it's obvious that it belongs to something like Star Wars or Marvel.
  2. All they need is a base beneath the minifig to raise them up a little higher than normal similar to what they did in the Pirate set. I'm not expecting them to come up with a bunch of new molds to make fancy large chess pieces when a combination of minifig parts & bases would yield decent results. There have been plenty of knights, kings & queens over the years that they could re-use parts from.
  3. There were 20 Minifigs in the Pirate set. I see no need to downgrade to nanofigs. I would expect the chess figures to be mostly monochromatic. The pawns can be a simple build rather than the actual 16 minifigs the Pirate set used as pawns. Hopefully they would at least be something that use the minifig head with some sort of hat on top. Only the 2 Kings, 2 Queens, 4 Knights, 4 Bishops & 4 Rooks need to be a bit more detailed. The rooks could be a small brick built turret. We know we want horses of some sort for the Knights. There was the Horse mold for the Cowboy CMF a few years back. Bishops can be a minifig body, head, skirt, bishop hat & some sort of staff. So including the trio, a golden anniversary minifig, 2 Kings, 2 Queens, 4 Bishops & 4 Knights that could be 16 minifigs over all. Definitely possible given that the Ludo set has 16 & the Pirate Chess Set had 20. Of course I would love it if the Pawns were actually student minifigs wearing generic Hogwarts robes but that would't be screen accurate to the pawns in the scene and I don't see them giving us 32 minifigs.
  4. As I said earlier, 8x8 = 64. There should be 64 squares to make a complete Chess Board. Leaving out 2 rows of squares would make it an unplayable game. The pieces needed to complete the grid are minimal in the overall build.
  5. A standard chess board is an 8 x 8 grid making 64 positions on a chess board. It's most likely the grid will be made up of 4x4 stud size squares. This would perfectly fit a 32x32 base plate or 4 16x16 of the heavier system plates attached together which is the same as the base for the Ludo game they sold for $40. It came with 16 minifigs & 4 small side builds that were part of the board. The current Lego Chess set is being sold for $55. All 32 chess pieces in it are brick built with a minimum of 6 parts and has a huge base beneath it and it is also 32x32 studs. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the HP chess to be a mix of minifigs & brick built pieces and be a complete chess set. There is no need for it to attach to any of the other anniversary sets.
  6. If they don't make a complete chess board they are going to drastically limit the sales of this set. I don't know that I would buy it if it wasn't a playable chess board. It makes more sense for it to actually be a playable chess set because it will draw both HP collectors & people who want a HP themed chess set. If only a partial board many will pass.
  7. Considering how often we end up with mangled manuals & sticker sheets in sets I'm expecting to see complaints about bent cards if we do get these.
  8. I really don't like random collectibles in general because there is always that one I really want but can't seem to get so I'm not going to go crazy trying to collect them all. I'll just consider whichever ones I get to be a bonus. I didn't care for the way they did the SW anniversary figures because it seemed that the vehicles I was interested in getting were paired with the figures I didn't want and the figures I really wanted came in the sets I wouldn't buy. I'm not too worried about that happening with these HP ones because I will probably end up getting most of the sets. The only one I fear will be in a set I don't want is Dumbledore.
  9. I think the Orange robes for Lockhart are still speculation at this point. We haven't seen any new leaked pictures of him yet as far as I recall. Wouldn't go by the images of the set leaks from a while back.
  10. I don't get how anyone thought that the Monica figure was meant for any of the HP sets. I knew it was her as soon as I saw it. Can't wait to see more HP leaks but I'd be surprised to see anymore until next week. Love the Cat Hermoine. I think the Cat head looks to be big enough to fit over a regular minifig head.
  11. My issue with POTC sets was that Mega Bloks had the original license so Lego didn't get to make the sets from what to me were the better films. Once Lego got the license the sets were huge & very expensive to me at the time and not ones I was particularly interested in. I would love to see them add a building each year for Diagon Alley & Hogsmeade going forward but I expect that they will most likely do remakes every few years of the same iconic sets over & over much like SW has the Land Speeders, Millenium Falcons, Tie Fighters, etc. I really do want a Leaky Cauldron as that is iconically Harry's first interaction with the Wizarding World that leads him into Diagon Alley to begin his Hogwarts journey. I get the whole anniversary thing but even though I will most likely get the Great Hall/Chamber of Secrets I would have preferred something totally new for the chamber rather than including it with a redo of the Great Hall. I really hope the interior is setup for the Dueling Scene rather than the dining hall being redone.
  12. Based on the current details we have I can't include any of the August(?) Wave amongst my must haves but the most likely at this point would be the Chess set if it is true to the scene in the movie. That being said based on the poor pictures we have seen & figures leaked I would rank the June (?) Wave as follows: 1 - Hogsmeade 2 - Chamber of Secrets 3 - Bathroom 4 - Fluffy I leave out the Advent Calendar because I always get at least one if not all that they release.
  13. I'm still reserving judgement until we see some actual decent photos of these upcoming sets. The HP Advent Calendar will be a definite buy for me unless it turns out as horrendous as last years City Advent Calendar which I sincerely doubt. The chess set sounds interesting to me. Fawkes will probably be nice but I still haven't decided if I'll get Hedwig yet so that would determine if I would eventually go for Fawkes too. Harry & Hermoine brick built figs I doubt I'd buy but I'm not definitely saying no yet. The set with Madame Hooch will be a definite buy for me. I'm dying to see the Frozen Ice Palace & the Creator Castle set so those will probably be on my buy list even if the HP stuff ends up not interesting me.
  14. Brick Built Fawkes was okay but I really like the moulded one much better. Moulded Niffler is cute. I love the moulded heads & wings on the dragons but brick built bodies not so much. Hated the brick built Basilisk in the Great Hall set, looking forward to the new one but hope it doesn't have that brick block in the middle. I think Grawp just looks like a bizarre cartoon.
  15. A decent body for Fluffy. That brick built one if that's what we are getting is absolutely atricious. It looks like the body of a rhinoceros to me.
  16. Glad I'm not the only one who thought he was dying to spill something.
  17. To paraphrase the question was if we would be getting a Gringott's Bank. I don't recall the exact wording of the question but considering the huge grin on Marcos's face I think he really wanted to spill some information.
  18. They said they will make them available to watch again hopefully by sometime tomorrow. I get the live stream if they were actually going to reveal something for the first time. But in this case they could have just pre-recorded & uploaded the video at a set time. It's kind of ridiculous they felt the need to do essentially the same live stream twice for sets that aren't even brand new.
  19. He doesn't have the actual figure yet according to what he said. The picture doesn't show whether it has the crest on it or not. It was only of the right half of the figure taken diagonally and the whole thing looks to be encased in plastic again like the others originally were when we first saw them.
  20. Not really, I just thought it odd that none of the posted pictures showed the front when they took the effort to show us both sides of the head. The anniversary writing on the back of the torso is of less interest to me than whatever they print on the front.
  21. Thanks for that. A bit blurry but nice to see they are actually doing a detailed torso print. I just watched without sound as I hate most you tube reviews and avoid them like the plague.
  22. I hope they at least give us a little peek of something even if it is just a few of the upcoming minifigs. Maybe a golden one or two. That leak of the golden Quirrell/Voldemort didn't even show us the front of the torso.
  23. Probably push/pull. I don't know of a way to make it a touch mechanism without involving & having to hide some gear system within.
  24. I want to try to figure out how to make the entrance to Diagon Alley through the brick wall behind the Leaky Cauldron. I know I need to use some hinges as I want to make the bricks fold somewhat as it opens. I'd also like to make the Leaky Cauldron & the other side of the street in Diagon Alley.
  25. Discussion is one thing but some of you keep repeating day after day the same things over & over again. It's like a broken record. Several of us have respectfully asked to please just move on from the same thing day after day. I know it's hard with no new leaks or info about the upcoming sets but I'm getting to the point where I'm really sick of reading this broken record thread. Harassing people for more info & repeating the same opinions every day is getting us nowhere.
