Don't know why they show it in the middle. It looks much better at one end the way it's supposed to be. I may detach Magical Menagerie to make it larger & try to create some shops for the other side of the street.

Thanks, found them in the lifestyle shots.

I'm a bit disappointed in the apparent lack of access to the interior of the Magical Menagerie also. I've been accumulating various random animals and parts for cages to populate it with so guess I'll have to try my hand at creating a full size building to place all the critters in. At least this small build creates a starting point to expand on. I can't find the snakes in any of the pictures but I'm assuming they are somewhere in the cavern & vaults. Need to find a way to enlarge the published pictures but there's still a lot that is hard to see.

I'm definitely getting this set. Not sure if it will be day 1 because if the GWP isn't offered with it for the VIP pre-sale that will be an issue for me. Not buying it without a GWP even though I'll be cashing in a lot of VIP points. My nit-picks: The Gringot ts Bank sticker. The super skinny white exterior columns. Building should have been a little bit taller I think. No apparent access to the interior of the Magical Menagerie No Bill (he's becoming the Goat of the Harry Potter theme) I hope they release a designer video soon so we can maybe see a few more details.

I have $300 worth of VIP points saved up for this. Can't wait for the full reveal.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
karrit replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nice that they clarified that. Thanks for the info. Saves me from buying one of each just to be sure I get all of them. It definitely wasn't worded that way originally. To bad they haven't bothered to update the others that are actually multipacks. Lion Knight Castle Flags & Cape & the Black & Brown basic capes. Not sure which of the Black/Brown is the multipack but I know when I ordered a bunch of those there were 2 black & 1 brown in the pack, probably the more expensive one. The white one was just the 1 piece as were the green ones. I just noticed the collar one is listed like this: COLLAR, 18X31,5 so I wonder if there are actually 5 pieces. -

Looks like they are selling the cape pieces for $8.48. I wonder if it’s a multipack like the Castle flags were? -
The sand green ones. Kind of formal looking with the white hands, since they are wearing gloves. Just looked at the dark red ones but they have that gold nameplate on the chest.

I was thinking a while back those Bellhop torsos would make nice uniforms.

No Discovery Centers anywhere near me. And as posted above it is noted in several places on the website that adults must be accompanied by a child. From what I could find when I researched it looked like the only thing adults can do if they don't have a child with them is shop in the store. I've heard the prices are higher than elsewhere but sometimes hard to find polybags may be available.

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes
karrit replied to Wardancer's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I like it. Of course they had to go & add new parts after I just placed my big order I'd been holding off on waiting for the VIP days offers. There's a handful of parts in that set I want but not enough to buy the whole set even at the current 20% off. But they're killing me with the crazy prices they've started charging for the animal head pieces, $7.51 for the rabbit head. Guess I'll start building a new list for the next GWP offer. -
I haven't had a chance to see DOD yet but I distinctly remember spending half of TOD with my head behind my boyfriend's shoulder hiding my eyes from all the slimey, slithering critters & insects and totally gross monkey brain dinner scene, nevermind the whole sacrifice bit. So I suspect that that one will always remain at the bottom of my list despite a couple of good scenes. Last Crusade is definitely my favorite almost tied with Raiders.

The Love for Printed Pieces Thread/Sticker Resentment Thread
karrit replied to danth's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It always amazes me how they take the effort to make some awesome prints for the 4+ sets yet bombard us with multiple stickers of the same tiny prints in sets that cost several 100's of Dollars. And some of those 4+ sets get pretty pricey due to the prints while others aren't. I know the printed bricks are more expensive to produce but with the prices of many sets the excessive use of stickers in them is off-putting. I'm often torn over whether to actually use some of them. Going through some of my older sets I amazed at how many parts were actually printed. They went through the trouble of making all the different printed Chocolate Frog cards for the Harry Potter sets which were really awesome. It would have been nice if they went through the same effort for some of the other wizard portraits they use in many of the sets. As for the color mismatches that could be easily rectified if they would just print all the stickers on clear/transparent background rather than white. Of course the reflective ones would still need to use the mylar type material they currently use.- 183 replies

Disney Properties 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
karrit replied to Huigberts Builds's topic in LEGO Licensed
I doubt I would actually buy any of the five choices. The Bambi one is decent but the brick built animals are still too roughly built in my opinion. Don't care for the Tinkerbell or Dumbo ones at all. Sorcerers Apprentice is the most polished & pleasing to my eye but sadly lacks a needed Sorcerer Mickey in scale with the brooms. The obvious front runner is a bit too all over the place with some questionable color choices like the pumpkin coach, which should be either white or gold. -
From my experience the only norm to expect a linked GWP is when they release something huge like a Star Wars UCS or or other very expensive larger set like the Eiffel Tower or the annual expensive Harry Potter set. Everyone assumed based on leaker reports that the Forest Hideout GWP would release with the Castle last year but Lego decided to release it 6 weeks or so earlier so it was gone in the US when the Castle became available although sources also said it would return with the Castle. Fortunately I managed to make two other purchases prior to the castle to secure two copies of the Hideout, one of which included a pre-order for the Galaxy Explorer. So I usually have a backlog of bigger or exclusive sets on my wishlist I'm willing to purchase direct from Lego in order to secure the GWP's I want when they become available. Doesn’t always work out but the way they schedule overlap on some GWP's in relation to new set releases it's always a gamble. I don't do pre-orders on sets unless there is a GWP I'm wanting offered at the same time like I did for the Galaxy Explorer to get the Hideout GWP. And in those rare instances I add something small to the order to insure the GWP gets sent out right away since they don't hold them for pre-orders.

Disney Properties 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Yes, that's the picture I was thinking of. I believe it's in the exhibit of the camera @ Disney World. Tried googling it before but couldn't find it. -

Old Mill was the first film to use the camera but that image looks like I've seen it somewhere. Not sure if that's what you see in the one on display @ Hollywood Studios in Disney World. Maybe Sleepy Hollow? -

Looks like Bambi below Cinderella. The red one toward the bottom I think might be Bandleader Mickey from the Band Concert or if not him then maybe Sorcerer Mickey. Actually the more I look at that one it could be either Hercules or Kronk. -

I'm not one for the buildable objects like the Typewriter, Piano, Guitar and such but this set is pretty impressive. Can't wait to see what all is depicted on that film reel. This one definitely goes on the wishlist way ahead of the Villians Icons and maybe even the Castle. -
I too am waiting for a good GWP deal before getting this set. Got burned too many times buying expensive sets with no special deals so I refuse to succumb to FOMO. The only set I don’t regret buying day 1 with no special offer is POBB. I will have patience this time around. Don't really need another copy of Blacktron so I may try to wait til the end of the month for the next offer although it's a much lower buy in threshold for that next offer one. I could probably reach the minimum for Blacktron with a few Harry Potter sets with 2x VIP points & my growing PAB list. Been holding off on my HP purchases waiting on the upcoming HP GWP.

Picked up a free Dreamzzz Comic Book during my visit to the Lego store on Monday. US store.

Dream Village is one of the sets at the top of my wishlist. I'm really liking a lot of these sets. Reminds me of a mash-up of Elves & a little Hidden Side. Missed out on the Nexo Knights stuff as it was mostly during one of my Dark Ages. I never could find any sets in that theme that interested me enough to actually buy. As a Castle fan they were a bit to mechanised for my liking. I'm not into mechs so I'll be skipping the Dreamzzz sets that contain that style of build . Hopefully any interesting parts from those sets will appear on PAB.

Glad I grabbed the Sanderson one at midnight. I had a feeling this GWP wouldn't last long but not even a day is ridiculous. Also received my shipping notice from Lego already but not from the shipping company yet. -
Not too sure about the colors in this one although it may be worth it for the Opalescent pieces. Looks a little similar to the Space one from last year. I wish they had a few better close-up pictures of the pieces on Lego.com. Wondering if this one will be in Costco or Walmart at a special price around the holidays this year in the US. One or the other usually gets the big boxes and run special deals on them. The Space one was in Costco last year through about a month ago when they clearanced them out for around $20. Walmart did get the Creative Fantasy one when it released & is selling it for $60 so maybe they'll run a lower price on that one for Black Friday.

We had the Christmas Carol GWP a few years back which was nicely done in my opinion. Don't see the need for them to revisit that story. We've also have several different Nutcrackers. And we did get the Home Alone set as an Ideas Set so hopefully any IP would go that route rather than taking the annual Winter Village spot. Also a lot of people have used or modified the Hogsmeade Village set for use in their winter villages. I also hope they stick to random Christmassy themed sets. Although a Currier & Ives style set with a Horse drawn Sleigh approaching a cosy winter house would be a very interesting set to me. Or maybe the one with the Skating scene.
