    JimB, I'm trying to understand where the Baron's negative view of heroes comes from. Unless I'm missing something, I can only recall Pretzel having a very good relationship with him.

    Well, that's one way of looking at it, I guess. I wonder though, do they have so many customers that they can afford to hike up the price?

    My goodness, has raider been nerfed? I really can't say I pay much attention to classes that I can't move into.

    In case you haven't noticed, Petaldan hasn't sold any to anyone. Isn't everyone glad Petaldan has them?

    "I hope it's not a demon in there holding them hostage. I don't know if we have much of a choice though, apart from breaking in and I doubt that would give us the most favourable reception from the people we're trying to rescue."

    I equip the good book again and attempt a conversion through the door. "Do not worry. We are messengers sent from God to destroy the demons that are consuming this place. We are here to help and we will do our utmost, through the power of God to restore your city to its former glory. Tell me what you have seen and heard so that we can know how best to counteract the evil that those who would seek to destroy you are causing. You have no reason to fear us.

    "Oh, I'm sorry." I turn to the Cardinal. "Why do you talk funny like that? Do you always talk like that? Also, I don't see any eyes in your face or a mouth either for that matter..." I'd better not say anything about a nose.

    "Oh, dear, I hope none of our heroes offended you before. I know some of our characters are a bit questionable, but I thought they would all behave heroically when it came time for the work." "She had a son who disappeared?!? That's terrible. She must have been so sad! And he doesn't even know of his mom's passing. I hope he is alright. ...You wouldn't think that her grief...?" I hold out my hand to the cardinal. "Pleased to meet you."

    Argh, JimB, you can't do this to me. Such a pain separating character knowledge from player knowledge!

    "Is it worth our time to try to enter here? I mean, if there are no demons therein, what do we intend to accomplish?"

    "Yes, we would be very interested as to whether your adviser might be able to give us some insights as well." I say as diplomatically as possible.

    "You have an advisor who's not from here? Interesting. I suppose you know all of your own people too well to suspect any of them would try anything like this, right? You all seem like a friendly sort...but then the imps didn't seem too bad either, though they looked a bit fierce..."

    I listen on intently. The other heroes seem to be well acquainted with the man in question. "I will assume you've tried to defeat this fellow before now?"
