Heroica RPG - Quest #69: The Hook on the Other Hand
Palathadric replied to CMP's topic in The Heroica Archive
To hasten things up, I sell my Magnifying Glass and Purchase the Magnificent Microscope and Hunter's Plate Armour, dipping into the party gold. "Demon, if you want the Armour, then take it and consider it and pay me and the party back at the end of the quest. If you don't want it, I'll keep it and pay the party back when we get our salaries." -

"Do any of you fellows want this Magnifying Glass either? If any of you need a loan for gold, I'll give you some money." -
Honestly, I don't think it makes a difference. I go with Sandy's ruling whatever it may be. Besides, I don't feel particularly affected having never quested with a tremendously drug-induced rogue.

Heroica RPG - Quest #69: The Hook on the Other Hand

I nod. "That seems about right." I hand over the two gold bars for 50 gold a piece. "How much for this Shovel or this Soma?" CMP, do you mind typing this 100 gold at the end of my inventory list, so I don't forget that it's team property. Thanks! -
I agree with this very much, especially considering how weak poisoning is against powerful enemies these days. Even Deadly Poisoning is relatively weak compared to many enemies. However, one must consider that deadly poisoning an enemy on a roll of 4 or something more than that if they have an upgraded Witch's Amulet, seems quite a lot more powerful than Meditating. Precisely. I vote in favour of the Common Sense rule, because it's just common sense.

I disagree entirely. When you've got Rogues with insane WP, QMs have to raise the stakes, so of course, in the end the rogues end up helping the party, but it's their fault the party needs help to begin with. But I agree, if less gold is dropped, Rogues may not buy so many consumables which would make Clerics much more needed and useful, which is good. Furthermore, maybe with less consumables floating around, it would also force QMs to drop more of them, which is also good. Although I like in theory the idea of enemies with gold in their inventories being ones able to be stolen from, I think that just the humanoids or common sense enemies is fine too. I think there is no reason for an enemy to drop nothing, especially a humanoid enemy. If nothing else, let him drop five gold. We see quite a lot of enemies these days who have nothing in their droppings deposit.

"Do any of you fellows want my shovel or my Soma? If not, I'll probably sell them off. How much for each of them, may I ask? I am not certain whether I'd be willing to part from this shield for only ninety gold. The ruby itself is worth 100 in many places." "We also have these two gold bars, to sell. How much for them?" -
I hope Dreyrugr was never married, otherwise perhaps Pretzel should start calling him "Daddy." And you all can be thankful Pretzel is not married, or you may as well call him "Daddy." Instead, you get Sorrow. Pretzel likes eating and he likes Mizuki well enough as well. He has no reason to suspect her...yet.

Good points mentioned. Just trying to think about my own quest idea and see how to work on it to improve it. For now I need to work on the sets though, and get those finished finally, especially since almost all the heroes are reaching their advanced classes now.

Dreyrugr should have the Dragonbrand Shield and I should have the Impervious Shield. "I actually have a very interesting artifact here. It's a shield with a ruby imbued into it. Surely that should fetch a fair sum. Shield I'd value at fifty gold. However, it costs fifty gold to imbue the ruby and then of course, the ruby itself costs. "However, I'm thinking of keeping it, just thought if you're interested and can give a good price, then... "By the way, have you seen something like this before?" I hold up my Magnifying Glass. "I'm sure you down here could find it useful considering the intricate work you do in the mines, having to separate small gems from dirt and stones, and suchlike. What do you say? How much would you offer for it?" "May the powers of light in this Diamond strengthen you in the fight, lad!" -

I fork over 70 gold and take the Diamond. Sorry, guys, have not been online for a while. Pie, the inventory have got some issues. I have to look over them though and see. "You're wrong about one thing. Only plants form coal. Animals do not. Furthermore, there is no real way of knowing much about that process unless you've seen it work and only if you are millions of years old is that possible." I shrug disinterested. "May I have the scroll, Erik," I say shortly, but firmly, holding out the diamond. -

Sylph falls unconscious allowing Pretzel to steal in front of him and purchase the scroll. "5 gold for this piece of metal! This is very sturdy. Anywhere in Eubric they'll offer 25 for it." I sigh. "Let me see how the purchases go. If I have gold, I'll loan you some." "Why do you want that armour? Yours is probably just as good." I shrug. -
It was brought to my notice before I even saw the thread as well. I was certain Pretzel was in there. Obviously, because Sorrow and Masson are the same person. Does anyone want the wand? Flipz?

Okay, I wasn't sure if everyone was waiting on me.

"Ah, by the way, I have this piece of metal I dug up myself. Would you give me 25 gold for it? You've got some very nice items there, although I can't see most of them are suitable to me. Still, that Scroll looks tempting..." -
Your quest is going great. Odd thing, only CMP and DLL are in the States, unless 4th of July is a holiday across the world.

Wow 69 has been strangely quiet the last couple of days. Not sure if no one is around or if they're all waiting on me to get a move on.

"Ah, thank you! I was worried. Something about the tone of your voice. I suppose humans use tones differently. Thank you for your help. Let us head to Shelby's." -
Ah, okay, I thought it was only unlocked after the 100% completion, as I must have finished gathering the minikits before I became a True Jedi.
-
I'm don't think I'm helping out. Just wondering if that's how it would work. QMs always seem to find ways around these items.
-
But can one get up to four reputation levels or does it stop at three? Also, if Hybros would use a neutralizer, Madame Ladybug would lose her Lucky, Hastened, Blessed, and Encouraged effects, correct?
-
Apparently, Sylph's nurture only works in battle. Haven't read the updates from today, but I totally think that #72 will turn out to be a Murder on the Orient Express scenario with everyone helping to kill Guffington. I doubt the heroes will be as forgiving as Poirot though. Good idea for an upcoming quest. God thinks Guts' moves are too alternative and strikes him down with a bolt of lightning every time is dancing moves come into effect. Wait until we see Guts, Cronk, and Docken on a quest. Guts dances to Cronk's tune and Docken provides the back-ups, hoping to partake of the statistical buffs. But then I wonder if you succeed in completing four quests for one house, then if you fail in one, do you still lose the class? Don't forget to take pictures...lots of pictures.
-
Yeah, I'm actually thinking the classes are fine the way they are. No sweat. I think it's just dropping less powerful SP artifacts that is the cure to the world's problems.

"Ah, thank you! I suppose I shall pass by her shop and see what she has to offer. I wish you good work, Rollo!" "Your help is invaluable, I shall surely go and speak to the baron," I say in a quieter tone. I then whisper Diplomatically, "What's he like? You don't seem the most fond of him."
