Heroica RPG - Quest#92: The Prophetess and the Warrior
Palathadric replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
The Town Watch tend to be lazy. A shame really, because the idea behind it is a good one. They don't seem to instill the right virtues in their men though. Or maybe they just don't select their men well...it seems they're always stuck with the incompetent folk. So the Wolfgang are linked with witches now? Good God, I knew we should have destroyed those members when we had the chance. I suppose right now the closest house you could consider as being "emperors" in the right of protecting the people would probably be the Bonapartes. They more or less single-handedly keep these isles safe from and outside invasions. It's just unfortunate that they don't have much power to stop all the internal strive and disputes. I can't say I've met any of the Bonapartes before, true ones that is. We had this lousy group of Bonaparte pretenders attack us in one of my last quests as we were aboard this ship...what was it called again? The "Mayflower" or something...ah, "Magpie" that was it. Anyway, we disposed of those no good pretenders. Actually that's where I got this." I tap my Shako. -

I suppose the gold "Donny" stole was not supposed to wind up in his drops? "Why, thank you, lad!" If nothing else the party leader seemed generous in his loot distribution. "Well, I had an extra...two actually, so you may as well use it for now. I believe there are other heroes who will need it, but for now it's on my person so mine to loan. I'm sure they must make quite good shields in Dastan. Their knights are rather famed." -
Sounds good to me.
-
I don't follow at all. You're taking about their physical shield and not the "shield" roll, right?
-
Yeah, I admit the old way is probably over-powered, but I still think we could settle on a compromise.
-
Knights will be useful again.
-
Old way was that no matter how much the enemy damaged the hero, the hero always countered with the strength of his/her level. It was switched to the hero countering with an equal amount of damage to the damage he/she had received. And now, apparently, Sandy is switching it back. Correct me if I'm wrong.
-
No problem, I always roll undead as being immune to darkness-elemental damage...oh, wait, I don't roll at all.
-
I know I was calling for an "un-nerf" but...wow.
-
Am I missing something? Why doesn't it damage them?
-
Since the nerf, I really think Counterstrike Gloves are underpowered. Am I alone in thinking this? Perhaps they could retaliate against all damage taken and not just free hits or something.

"Not a problem. That's what we're here for. Allow me to heal you of your wounds, Master Hinckwell, and you too lieutenant." I heal Tarn, Grady, and Andrew at the cost of 3 Ether. "Oh, please lieutenant, there is no need to be all ruffled over this issue. This city has far more problems than our organizations can solve together at this moment. There is no need for anyone to fear about a lack of jobs to do. We have no intention of replacing the Town Watch. You are doing a remarkable job with what you have." I turn to U'Voros. "Well, I'm not expecting any further trouble, but you may as well take this Fashionable Shield. Hold it with respect. It served me well for many a quest." I grimace. I don't think you added the Military-Grade Fire Bomb to my stats. Of course, there are good chances that it's there and I'm just not seeing it. It seems to be a common issue. "Party Leader, if it's all the same to you, I would appreciate the gold." -
Okay, for the record I do most of my work in SR 3D Builder and then sometimes add some things in MLCad for the parts that don't snap well, etc. As it turns out, when I place the Canvas Covered Wagon part in the model in SR 3D Builder, it gives me errors in the other two. When I place it in the model in MLCad, it works fine. I still don't understand the problem as the part number is the same for the part in MLCad and SR 3D Builder, and only one .dat file exits in the LDraw installation folder, so it's most strange. Neither of you have this problem I'm guessing, right?
-
Oddly, when I'm looking at the model with the covered wagon in LDView it always gives me a crash notice when I exit the programme. Weird! Thank you!

What? Host an NPC-only quest? To a certain extent, isn't this how 'hexed' should be?

You can still put me first in the battle order, so in case he's not finished this turn I can still absorb the free hit. I dig with my Magic Shovel from the Back Row. "Heh, these blows are doing absolutely nothing. I could sleep in my bedroll while watching you pound at my shield." I chuckle. "Kids and their honour! Just make sure that you do finish him off. I've had it with teams letting villains go behind my back." -
What's the final verdict on whether or not healing staves can be used on a person wearing the Duplovian Helmet?

I use a Grand Potion on Tarn from the Back Row unless I'm told to do otherwise. -
Sarge. Aww! Congrats, CK!

"Mr. Hinckwell, despite there being only one enemy between us, I seem to be unable to extend my healing power in your direction." "Oh...er... It is nothing." -
Yes, they do. I was actually able to sort it out this afternoon. Not exactly sure what I did, but it works now.

I begrudgingly dump a Phoenix Essence on Tarn. God why must I always pay for other's mistakes. "Sounds like our party leader was distracted by his ulterior motives."
